okay okay important question
i dunno if you remembe that comic made by sugusoko
where like genesis and angeal reincarnated from another timeline and then like proceed to save / kidnap seph out the lab but seph want go back to the lab ect ect
BUT LIKE IS THERE A FANFIC you did with it since they agreed to let you do a fic i search but i cannot find it…is it me or just you still didn’t made it?
(Link to the comic in question @sugusoko ) The short answer is no, I did not make it. I have a fic where Jenova saved Sephiroth with a similar vibe, but that's unrelated. SO, here's a little something to make up for it:
This war was nothing like what Shinra sold them.
Being a 'Hero' was a false title used to prop Sephiroth on a pedastal.
What they were doing in Wutai was Wrong.
And something in their souls whispered that Shinra was hiding far more than they already knew.
They had to leave.
But Sephiroth, despite once calling himself a weapon, wouldn't defect easily.
Extracting him didn't go as planned.
They weren't supposed to be seen.
There weren't supposed to be any alarms, at least not before they started taking Sephiroth out.
But when does a heist ever go according to plan?
They met loyalty in the corner of his tent when they hoped to see relief, a sword brandished at the ready.
He didn't say a word.
They had to physically pull him out. Sephiroth didn't attack, but he didn't aid their escape in the slightest.
Angeal fed him, and he ate.
Genesis read him or recalled stories, and he seemed to listen. (It was definitely too early for Loveless, despite how much that fact broke Genesis's heart.)
Angeal gathered supplies from the wilderness while Genesis navigated small towns with his charm to prevent questions.
By the time they made it to a forest, they had a tent, consistent meals, and even a bit of gil to spare.
But Sephiroth still didn't speak to them.
They didn't rush his processing.
"Sephiroth," Genesis called as he opened the tent, "breakfast is ready- What's wrong?" His mind didn't register what he was seeing
Sephiroth sat in the corner, arms wrapped around his legs and his head in his knees.
Genesis had never heard him so weak:
"I want to go back to the labs... Take me back..."
Genesis's mouth twitched as he swallowed an angry scream. "No. You don't."
He left the tent, leaving the opening unzipped behind him.
"What happened? Is he okay?"
"He's not coming."
Angeal's stare reflected silent confusion.
"He's asking to go back."
They both stared down at the fire.
Returning to Shinra wasn't an option now.
Gods knew what Shinra would do to him for defecting.
Death, prison, it would be easy for Genesis and Angeal.
But Sephiroth should know better.
How could they protect Sephiroth from the punishment? From himself.
Curled in a ball, it didn't seem like Sephiroth would run.
Angeal stood up. "Save his piece."
Genesis nodded, wrapping and storing the small meal.
Angeal moved the door to the tent. "Sephiroth, can I come in?"
No response for a bit, but eventually a tiny nod.
The dark haired teen sat next to his friend. "Can I ask you some things?"
Sephiroth shrugged, still never lofting his head.
"What do you miss about the lab?"
More silence.
Angeal looked forward, away from the teen. "When I think of home, I think of the cooking, the trees, the climate, the people. But the lab..." he trailed off.
"...I knew what what to expect..."
Angeal paused for a moment. "Familiarity." Routine. Something they couldn't maintain on the run.
Sephiroth only shrugged.
When Angeal returned to Genesis, they planned out their next days. How long they would travel, how long to search for a new place to rest, when to cook.
But most importantly: what Sephiroth could do. Sephiroth would extract the valuables from their hunts, clean everyone's weapons, and set up the tent.
Sephiroth needed a routine, and the three of them workong together slowly show him that there is nothibg left for hin at the lab but pain.
With his friends, even if it didn't last forever, he was safe.
