Racism requires a power imbalance. In American and Europe, this means white people cannot experience racism to any significant degree. White people can experience racism in, for example, China - I have a friend who went to China to teach English, and they get a lot of the same things black people do here, including being watched constantly in stores because they’re white and white people steal stuff…

Racial prejudice/bias does not.

A black person can be biased against white people. A black employer can even avoid hiring white people, but the scale is so small it’s insignificant and the white person can far more easily find a job somewhere else than a black person (or any other race) who is not hired because of his or her skin color.

I find it odd that people use every term other than racism to describe racism towards white people.

Semantics aside, it boils down to this: Yes, white people can experience prejudice, or racism, or what the fuck ever you want to call negative treatment based purely on race. Yes, while systemic arguments often fall flat for personal experiences, they are statistically supported and impossible to ignore in good conscious. No, nobody is going to give a fuck about the discrimination you face as a white person. The discrimination you face will be interpersonal and universal (which means minorities will face it too), but minorities face it from the system as whole and so white complaints comes off as trivial compared to any minority’s. You’re demanding equal outrage for being called Cracker while black children are shot to death in the street. No, this is not inconsistency on the part of SJWs or minorities or what have you, because not everyone on the Internet is the same person even if they share an opinion you disagree with. Nobody said this but no, White Pride or White Solidarity are not equivalent to Black Pride or Gay Pride or what have you. The communal coherence required by minorities is to survive living in a white hetero male world, and organization on our part is superfluous and aggressive. okay before people begin to give me shit about wearing a bindi let me explain my background. i am of african and indian decent, my grandfather on my dad’s side was pure indian making me 1/4 indian. where i am from in the caribbean (trinidad and tobago) i would be classified as being dougla. this word originated from the hindi word doogala which means mixed or many. dougla people are specifically half african and half indian decent and arouse during the colonial era and arrival of indians in the british caribbean. because of my mix i was able to embrace hindu traditions and celebrations such as diwali (the festival of lights) throughout my childhood. i often wore bindis during these occassions but because i am not fully indian i experienced blacklash for wearing it. though ive never learnt the true meaning of bindis, it is part of my culture and heritage that i have fallen in love with. seeing it being appropriated and white washed into merely a fashion accessory doesnt sit easy with me, so i just thought i’d share this with you.
