He has taken the resolve to be as convenient to Eren as possible today: no tricks, no bitter glances. It was his birthday, from the account of Armin, therefore it was a significant day for the soldier ... Jäger did not feel 'polite' intervening. So, he merely watches from a distance. He would resist the urge to meet Eren in any challenge or provocation. The Doctor certainly taught him better than to ruin something so special, as it were.

It had taken the boy a bit, but after a while it was hard to not notice, and even harder to ignore, the large titan staring at him from across the grounds. Strange, usually it was not a stare, more of an angry snare in his general direction. Yet today Jäger’s expression was exceptionally neutral, well, as neutral as his permanently pissed off face could manage. Soon enough he approached the thing, giving a somewhat wave.

Eren had not forgot, all these years the date had never slipped his mind, more-so it was an act. Faking forgetting what day it was generally made his birthday less of an event, the way he truly liked it. After his mothers death the day never felt much too special and only reminded him of the years that passed with all the horrible things he’d seen. However, as the most important person to him wrapped those delicate arms around him and spoke those sweet words, Eren could not help the joyful grin that came over him. Tightly he squeezed Armin, pretty much trapping the blond in the embrace.

Annie herself sometimes forgot what she’d taught yet, as the moves came NATURALLY to her, each sweep of her leg a testament to an entire childhood of training he couldn’t hope to compare to … She takes a step back from one of the training dummies and tugs some wrinkles out of the sleeves in her jacket, huffing as she does so.

Permission was granted and Eren found himself perking up, much like a dog would at praise. Excitement coursed through his veins at the prospect of learning something new, even if it would hurt like hell for days to come. That’s how he could learn, that’s how he could grow stronger. It still surprised him that Annie actually accepted his asks to train, he figured she would prefer to not be bothered. However, this just made him all the more grateful when she did.

Soon enough he found himself in place, ready to try out the kick he had seen her use on multiple occasions. A wide smirk set across his features before he nodded in her general direction.
