We leave for the airport (and London!) in less than 5 hours. The packing decisions have begun.
We got 4000 steps in this morning... just trying to navigate getting out of Heathrow!
A fer real Victoria Sponge (and the desperately needed cup of tea). Now I have some ideas what they're going on about on The Great British Baking Show. London
Called a "flapjack". Jeff says it's like a granola bar so that makes it healthy.
The Baker Street station (yes, THAT Baker Street) is a bit old fashioned on purpose. Gives you a small sense of what it was like back in the day. London
On second thought, this would have been the ideal souvenir magnet for me.
Is it still a paddle boat if nobody paddles? London
The roses weren't blooming, even a little bit (!), but other things were. London
It was crazy cloudy and gray this morning when we landed but it prettied up nicely this afternoon.
The dark one is mine. As is the cute guy. The Holy Tavern, London
My first fish and chips. Makes sure I'm eating a veg AND the chips are *perfect*. The Holy Tavern. London
It's so true!
Advantage of white hair -- I'm offered seats on the Tube all the time! London
The International Loitering tradition continues. London
The preparations for the May 5 coronation of King Charles have begun.
Our view this afternoon at a cafe along a canal in London.
It was right by a canal lock so we watched narrowboats going through it a few times. Then we walked up to the locks and Jeff showed me how they work, since I'll be opening and closing quite a few of them starting in a week!
How did I not know about this till now??????
