Project 3 Translation – Process
I was given the box template #2 and with that I had cut it apart in random shapes and rearrange and build a new structure out of it. It couldn’t resemble a shape that suggests a box or a container.
The word that I chose is grace. My shape has cone shapes that create elegance and the symmetrical form shows balance in the structure. The curvy shape that holds the cones make it seem light and free.
Final of Project 2
The process of making my modular structure.
With the chosen form from the last project, I made a symmetrical structure.
Project One: Unit Variation
For our first project, we had to fold 50 structures out of plain white print papers. It took a while (11h) but it was a fun experience.
I chose my top five structures based on visual aesthetic when translated into 2D.
Then I had to create an infographic with the 50 images of the structures I made emphasizing my top five choices. I based my infographic on the timeline of the paper structure making process.
