The Story of Steve Hallen
There is once a boy and a girl, living at the farm. The wide field of tall grass, sheep and cow filling silent sound in this open field. There are 2 family living together to work easier, the Hallen family and Vista family who have Steve Hallen and Amelia Vista. Steve is timid but really love innovating, while Amelia is pretty strong, strong enough to help Steve against bully.
They are long life friend who always do everything together. Steve timid and weak always become a running jokes in here because he is very incapable to do even a thing, hardly for Mr. Hallen love him that brings shame to this family. Unlike Amelia who can do what Steve can't, she can collect wheats, being shepard for sheep, do heavy job, the two are very different in anyway but she also very brave to stand up for Steve and become his only friend.
One day, their school introduce them with space... The world beyond their wonder... The limitless space where everything is possible can happen. They both love it, they want to go space. After do their own research at local library, Steve found the way they can go space, by joining NASA to be astronaut. But to gain that, they both have to accel in knowledge and physical. So they make one promise together.
Amelia "You can help me learning, and I can help you with training, what you say?"
Steve "to-together? With me?"
Amelia "Yeah, there is no one I want with be except you"
So they both try their best to achieve their dream to going space. They both active in sport together, they went same school, graduate together and pretty much everything together.
When Amelia struggle with education, Steve is there helping her to let her understand in her terms.
When Steve struggle with sport, Amelia is there assist him even show a genuine support from her. It's doesn't matter who is top or who is 10th place, they both want to achieve this goal together.
After decades of education and sport.... They finally get to join NASA!
All their hardwork is pay off and the finally can reach.....
Amelia : "excuse me?! Control Room?"
Steve : "There must be misunderstanding, we apply for Astronaut! We don't want to be in Control part"
"Apparently, you two are still not qualify to be an astronaut. They suggest from your profile to take a safer job. You two really have done good job to enter in Control station part"
They both devastated. Now stuck on table and see other astronauts arrived at space. Amelia is so frustrated with it, even Steve who mostly polite voice his dissatisfaction but what can they do? They can't talk to the manager about it. Until they both overheard a conversation about an initiative of earth space defense and resources,
It still new and on progress but that's even better! Living in space!
But to do that, they have to face academy, again.... Everyone had to choose their roles and face all exam, test and anything to pass or you will become lower class soldier. Lower form of rank that had to obey order and enter wars.
Rocket Force base right now is on one planet that have no atmosphere and gravity is pretty low. Mean to walk outside you required spacesuit. Raining meteor is low rate but it's better to prepare energy shield to block this meteor. There are some neighborhoods but as this place is new, so the neighborhood aren't that big.
Steve pick Engineer role and Amelia pick Defender role. And so, 6 semester they have to do their best. Despite being in different roles, Steve and Amelia never been apart, often call and hang out with each other. Amelia perform very well and even get compliment that she probably would go higher than soldier.
But one day, Steve meet Amelia and he acting all weird. She so confused why with his all sweat and nervous all sudden when he is kneeling and pulled out a ring...
He is proposing her! At cafeteria!
Steve : "I know I can't give you everything. I know I not strong enough to fight a bear... But I love you Amelia... Would you be my part of life?"
Amelia : "Oh my god, Steve... (Deep breath) YES, I WILL!"
Not very ideal place, not very ideal pair too for people but they are happy together.
But here in vacuum planet, no oxygen to breathe mean no house is built unless you are richest in here. So most intake will sleep together in one big room. It's not comfortable as no privacy at all. The fact that Steve and Amelia are married, this position aren't really help them being together. Steve and Amelia try to share money and buy house but this is really bad idea.
The things is that this is planet with no atmosphere, mean if you want to stay in house, you have to pay oxygen tax, fuel tax, electric tax, energy protection tax and those aren't cheap. Not even sharing money will be enough to pay the first month.
Steve try his best to keep up everything but find no way. Until one day on driving patrol, his engines got damaged and crashed on weird planet with lot of scraps and trash.
This is Scrapyard Planet, F56u. The planet where most trash will be handled for. The entire planet is trash and no other views but toxic and mountain of trashes.
Surprisingly, this planet is full of spare parts and good enough to fix his ship in meantime but there is one thing that got his attention.
It's the earth abandoned space station. It seem it had flung in here and even though it was in bad condition, Steve still think this is great.
So he went back and told his Amelia about his idea. She love it and so they two work together to build their own home from space satellite.
First, Steve try make sure oxygen is ok and no leak. And then he will continue to update it because he never built house before and this is a big step for new guy like him but he willing to do this for his love and future.
While Steve built the part and house, Amelia decorated it inside. It's about 7 year and still in progress but now they having the final test that decided if they qualified or not.
For Steve final test, he had to build the blueprint given to him and it was..... Mini Holder, a device that can hold small objects using artificial small gravity. Great for decorations.
It sure an easy win for Steve and he already done it. Perfectly work.
But that night, Steve afraid that if he mistaken this machine as coffee machine
so he take out 3 main gear in this machine, put on table and when the time come he will put in back on place.
The time has come and Steve is very confident. He had practice speech for few week ago and some gravity jokes too.
The judges come to inspect.
"Welcome to my presentation Lady and Gentlemen, I'm Steve Hallen from Earth, Solar System and today I'm presented to you my presentation project... Drumroll please"
The judges aren't impressed
Steve "Do you have some decorations that you like but hard to find the perfect spot to decorate in room? Sure put on rack is a great decisions even I would love too. Sadly not everything is stable and always got rolled away. So my innovation is the special devices that can hold any small object using it artificial gravity to hold on center safely without rolls over. Just the press of button and your will be impressed by it beauty"
Steve pressed the button but it didn't work. Steve try press again and again yet it didn't work. The judges now know that he failed it. Steve desperately try on it and give a hit on it
But suddenly other small object got pulled. It getting bigger and bigger, it doesn't take minutes for it getting out of control and pulled everything like black hole!
It getting too dangerous and Steve had no choice but to break it by his hand.
Steve "Aheheh(gulp) so that what happened if you playing with gravity. You will get get drag by it"
Failed. Steve is so confused how he failed. He had test it many times and no mistakes at all. Once arrived at home he saw the 3 main gear is on the dining table. That moment Steve realize his mistakes and knee in despair. He failed by being forgetful.
Amelia "It's ok honey. I understand what you feel but try look positive of it. We can meet each other more often because lower class soldiers will work together with other soldiers like me"
Steve "What rank you are?"
Amelia "oof.... Erm... Commander"
Steve "Everyone will going laugh at me..."
Amelia "Hey, who you care most. Them or me? Idc how you are under my lead or not, I won't ever leave you. We promise together remember?"
Steve "We will help each other no matter what..."
Amelia "... And always side by side"
So like it or not, Steve now stuck as lower class soldier while Amelia is commander to his group. Everyone try their best in their training and mission. Amelia show great performance on leadership and training. Everyone is so impressed by her skill. Steve however is another story....
He is so clumsy, amateur and very weak compare to other soldiers. Many had got promoted and rank up meanwhile Steve still stuck in same rank yet somehow still survive as soldiers. Because no matter what he won't give up on life because his wife believe in him so he willing to wake up and be other disappointment because the only validation he need is his wife and other people that trust him.
Due to Steve inefficient in duty, they assign him to stock and supplies carrier which as name suggests, he had to carry supplies and stock. Equipped with gun that he still bad at aim for.
Steve also had secret job that his boss told him to not do for.... Repairing wire and electrical. For some reason, his boss is very strict about him doing those stuff as he is "disobey" his duty.
He is good at that job though, he help fix the light, repair wires, repair the heater and many more, he always had his tools in his pocket. In fact he do this for free and somehow his boss despise it. So Steve had to do it in secret.
One day, the Rocket Force had make collaboration with one of galaxies defender, Star Center. The man-made star that born by hand and science, in there live Star People that stay in ring around the star like Saturn. The ring are so massive and lot of them live there. The Star People had no visible mouth but able to speak and their main diet is sunlight.
Star Center is responsible for collecting Solar power battery and share it across galaxies planet that need it. But with noble mission come with threats, they had been seen win many battle and wars to defend, despite their kindness, they also very dangerous opponent as their willing to sacrifice for this noble mission. But blindly sacrifice is stupid so their forge a great skill in battle and many more thanks to their long lifespan around 1500 years!
Become one of the best several galaxies defender force.
The collab is for the Rocket Force to gain better skill, tech, weapon and knowledge. Mostly is for support but for now is building trust and the first thing is Rocket Force make a tour visit to Star Center and make activities together about trust and bond also to see if Rocket Force is good enough to be call defender.
It's undeniable that Star People are more expert than them but they also very cooperative to other creatures and species. In here, high and low rank meet each other and hope to work together as team in future.
For the training, they were leaded by one of Star Center best warrior, Starry Star, the adult woman in age of 250 year old. Among of the rising Star People warrior with great reputation of battle and skill. She had enter about 1590 battle and win most of it, she technically can get promotion above other but she stay as Star Guard protecting her own home planet. She promise loyalty, integrity and will pour all she have for here.
Starry "Rocket Force and Star Center, we are here for simple duel, any strength and weakness will be count here but don't worry about your weakness, because no one here is perfect and that what make us perfect by being together"
So she pick one of Rocket Force to volunteer to duel with her. Simple battle of who will fall first or out from ring. Many try their best and had chance to be the great warriors.... Until Steve step in. Many is there wait for entertainment and good laugh at Steve. Undoubtedly he got defeated under 5 second in one swing by Starry, even Starry is surprised by how fast it goes.
Laughter filled that training fields but Steve is fine with it. Amelia come and check if he is harm, thankfully Starry is gentle fighter.
It's break time and everyone are making great bond with each other, smile and sharing stories. It was like festival. Starry, of course won't miss chance to form a bind with other but she is genuinely searching for Amelia to know her better, she saw a great potential in her but she found nowhere is Amelia among the crowd. But far from crowded people, there Amelia sit together at Steve side. Steve seem frown while Amelia try cheer him up. This enlightened Starry expectations on Amelia as she not just skilled but also full of empathy to her team and so she approaches them to join this very island two.
Starry can see that they are very close friend since the training earlier but she didn't expect they were actually married. In her curious, she asked what make Amelia accept Steve.
Amelia "I can't really describe it by word but if you know him close, he is actually very funny and confident, he just very awkward to people he not close to"
To Starry eyes, Amelia word seem to contradict herself just by how Steve really look right now but she just brush it off and think she judged him too early. So they three start having conversations.
It doesn't take week to Steve finally see Starry as close friends like Amelia said. Despite the rank different, Steve show no hesitation or awkward again her and more to casual with her. Somehow Starry like this, she rarely get into casual talk with friends and Steve and Amelia give that too her. Respect like friends.
Their friendship were close even Starry bring her little sister, Stacy Star to meet her new friends. Stacy age is 9 but she look like 5, very big gaps of age look but this is normal to Star People aging so Steve and Amelia doesn't make fuss of it.
Starry voice her concern about Stacy as she grew up. She afraid if Stacy isn't ready for it, to young eye of Stacy, grew up is just follow along but to Starry eye who had been like mother to Stacy, it's hard to let go.
At home, Amelia make a weird wish. She wish Stacy had someone she can rely on, by that she mean she wants a baby. After some discussions and reconsideration, Steve and Amelia decided to do it. They will be father and mother, preparing a surprise for Stacy new friends. Starry is shocked by their decision but they say they also want a baby in home too. So a win-win situation.
One day Amelia is confirmed pregnant and Steve had never been seen that happy to anyone lives. Steve went to tell everyone that he becoming a father. He went more active than before, he help everyone, he became more hardworking and willing to accept any word to him and promise to become better in future because he willing to change and become a father.
Even though any of his actions is meant nothing, he is still happy.
He went to much in house too. Help her from kitchen to upgrade their house more. He even decorated a special room for their children. Amelia really like what Steve had done but she just can remind him to not overwork it. If he wants to be a great dad, at least had enough energy to love her too. The baby can live better if the mom emotion is take care too.
Steve promise he will be the greatest father to his baby but Amelia just tell him he can be any father he wants as long their baby will be happier in their life. Steve hold that promise.
It's 12 July 2002 on earth calendar, Amelia and Steve went to hospital in rush as Amelia can feel their baby is about to come out.
Steve is driving in desperate while his arm get crushed by Amelia hand to hold her pain "Just h-ho-hold! On honey, we almost there!"
Once arrived, Amelia is rushed to ER immediately while Steve had to wait outside at lobby and pray for it.
While waiting, Steve finally rethink about it...
"Am I ready to be father? What if I not? What if I can't be father my son hope so? What if I can't fulfill their need?.... Do I really fulfilling their need before? No, it's all my wife... Her paycheck is more than me, mine is like 20% of her! Oh no... I'm not ready yet!"
Steve went nervous and can't sit still, walking in circle think if he can do it or bare it or be it.... Is being himself is enough? What if he failed and become abuser of his son unknowingly like his father?
The doctor come out and call Steve
"Mr.Hallen congratulations you've become a father. It was a boy"
From nervous worry turn to tear of excitement. He jump out of happiness and went to hug and thank you to all doctor and nurse he encountered on way.
Her room is D233, he remember that number like her birthday he remember, like all good she done for his pathetic, like all support and assist she give for him.
D233! That's her room! He can assure that because of the baby cry is there.
The nurse that hold the baby shocked by Steve sudden appearance and heavy breath of tired and nervous. "Are you husband of Mrs. Hallen?" Say the nurse in confused.
"Yes I'm..." Steve swallow his word and hand shaking in disbelieve, try reach the very small being in towel. "Is this.... Is this my son?" Steve ask to assure even if it was t front of him, his mind went wild and confused by mixed feelings he had.
Steve "Honey look... It's out boy! He- He has eyes a-an-and nose like you and and..." He suddenly realized everything is so quite.... It's normal for hospital to be quite but not like this.... It's heavy, sad... Something tell him that something is wrong here...
"Amy... What happened here? Doctor? Nurse? Wh-what happening?!"
Amelia look weak... Too weak to be called tired.... Steve put their son at her side and come close and hug his family... A family by his own...
Doctor from earlier that call Steve at lobby appears and tell him the story.
"I try to say another news.... When trying to give birth, your wife is in bad condition where if she give birth now... She will...." The silent is there but the answer is obvious."We try suggests to not do it but she doesn't want to" Said the doctor.
How could she sacrifices a life that worth nothing? Life that just born with empty pages, they can just discard and get new one and make new story... One new life gone is nothing, they can make new baby but she choose not to... She let other page open while the one the one that give die. The doctor doesn't understand her sacrifice, the nurse questioning if she is even alright. In this galaxy morals is quite different as they see her sacrifice is pointless.
Steve had no word to argue that, he is speechless. He thinks they were right, he feel it was unjust, cruel of nature.
"How can I kill this innocent life? He did nothing but exist for live. Even if it cost my life.... How is it justice when he can't enjoy life while I already long enough for it"
Steve "No, honey you don't get it! (He hug her tight don't want to lose her even if it will do nothing at all) I don't know if I can do it without you. How can a child live without a mom? How can he live without the best idol in his life? How can I live without you? You don't know about it, I can't do this!"
Amelia brush Steve cheek and pulled their son so she could kiss and get her baby scents for one last time
"What a beautiful masterpiece..... Just like his father creation. I want to name him...Nest"
Steve "but all her friends will make fun of him"
Amelia "he feel like home we dream off.... It was so comfortable around him... Don't you think, hun?"
Steve wrap his hug to his wife and his boy Nest "Yes... He is..... He feel like home we wish for..."
*bip...bip...bip...biiiiii....*
The pulse went flat....but Steve didn't let go his hug... Refused to believe she is gone...
It's his happiest and tragic day... 12 July 2002....from bed to soil of grave. Everyone that know her, her peer, her boss, leftaunant mourn over her loss. The best recruit is gone now just left other... Steve is there but he didn't bring Nest along. He is too young to understand loss and death....
It's all Steve now to take care of his only son. At first, it wasn't a problem but lately, Steve facing financial problems with Amelia not here, only Steve paycheck had to support this house but it was too low to even support need in this house.
Steve had to take care of his budget while had make sure his son is safe but how can he go work and be in peace while his son at home alone with no one? It was exhausting... Luck is what hold this family that will fall just in time.
Many call from old friends is ignored because Steve had no word to say while in grief, even Starry had no news about Amelia death.
One dark night, storm is running wild. Blowing everything away with stone and daylight is unsee. For long time Steve finally had time for his son but he is so done, just blank face staring at wall while hold his son with milk at other hand. Then blackout....
There must be damaged at the engine room. He had to fix it now. Steve put Nest aside to grab his suit and lamp but Nest start to cry. He is scared of dark, he doesn't like alone. Steve try assure him that he will be fast but Nest still don't want to let go.
Steve had idea to give Nest monitor where it connected to Steve spacesuit so Nest can see his face. Nest seem to understand it and believe it. Hard to believe this newborn understand this, maybe he very attached to his father... How come he isn't? The only person to his life is just him.
Steve went out immediately and try find what the problem. It would be easy if he had error detector so he won't need to circle around house to find what the problem but he didn't have it, the price of that is too expensive for Steve budget.
Meanwhile,Nest at home just look to the monitor where Steve face is there but his eye keep looking at dark corridor, he try avoid it yet he look at it. Nest is very scared and about to cry but he hold the monitor tight for his dear life. However it doesn't take long until Nest cry for help, he is too scared, he wants his dad but he isn't here accept the monitor. But Steve hear it and told Nest to wait a bit, he almost finish it but it doesn't make Nest stop crying, he continue desperate for the father at his side.
Steve managed fix it, all left is turn on switch in house but as he on way to enter home, the rock got flying and hit Steve stomach that caught him fall and hurt. He still holding it but another rock come and hit him again and again until one rock hit straight to his head and make him fainted.
He try reach the door but too tired, hand fall because of give up... Steve can't do all this again... No more... He failed since the first day... His vision is blurred
But he heard the cry again... Immediately open his eyes and breath once again. His helmet is leaked but his oxygen is still exist. Ignoring his pain, straight up stand and enter home before he suffocated. Once in home, he open the light and grab his son, hugged him for relief he made it abd sorry for make him waiting.
Steve "It's ok Nest.... Dad is here.... I'm so sorry... I get you might hate me but I'm here now...."
That night storm still mad but his son is sleep peacefully because his father is there... The same dark that scared him made him asleep under warm arm of father. Steve realized how pathetic he is.... He shouldn't grief of what he lost... He is supposed cheer what he has and he has son... Masterpiece of him and his beloved wife, part of her is in him, protecting him is like protecting her presence. For long grief, suddenly changed to smile determined to change.
Steve "I'm going to be your father, even if I'm not the best in world"
Even in busiest day, he will give his fullest love to his boy. He do part-time job just to support this house, he had to do take extras hour just for few money.
To cheer up the lonely boy, Steve pulled out his old Nintendo games and play it with his son, even teach him. Even in goofy games he still teach value and moral to Nest. Sometimes Steve still play with his Lego but he had to put fence so Nest won't eat it. He still under 5,so it would be very dangerous to him.
One day Steve left his Lego open and forgot to close it for whole day!
Once he back home he is surprised to what he see....
Steve "My son is building lego...."
Steve "you not eat any of it do you?" He asked his son for making sure
Steve also play with some simple light circuit when free and Nest doesn't want to be excluded, so whatever Steve do, Nest want too. Steve let Nest see it but no touch except the switch.
At age 7, Steve surprise once he got home the house is flooding. When he found the source he can't believe what he see... His washing machine got dissembled into the pieces and there 7 year old Nest holding the motor like he is inspecting it while leave the water pipe open and flooding this place.
Steve "Nest, what on world happening here!?"
Nest "Oh hai dad! I think this motor is damaged" He said innocently not knowing what mess he done.
Steve want to go rage but he just sighed and turned off the water. He open the drain and take left blower.
Nest "dad wait, I swear this motor is damaged look!"
When Steve take a closer look, Nest were right... The motor is indeed damaged. He looks to Nest feeling guilty to ignore him, so he pat the boy head "What a genius boy but next time don't forget turn that water off or we will running out of water. Ok Nest?"
Nest with wide eyes like Steve approval and promise he won't repeat the mistake.
Steve "Also Nest, thank you for see what I can't see"
Ever since, Steve bring some part from his work place and teach him about electrical and mechanical. Nest learn it quickly because to his eyes, it was like lego. Nest love it. He had made many small inventions like manual paper shredder, potato circuit and many more.
Nest grew up watching Kamen Rider Fourze, a super hero about space that value friendship. Nest love Fourze very much and want to be just like him, not just power and fight villain but he wants to make friends. Nest just wish he could go outside and make many friends like Fourze do perhaps more than he do. But he just can't, this planet is lack of oxygen to breathe. To walk freely outside, they have to wear spacesuit but his father can't afford it, it was too expensive. Steve really want to buy Nest Spacesuit but he has no way to buy it.
But in secret Steve is building his son spacesuit, since Nest is 5 where he crying for help, Steve realized that he can't hold his son here... Nest had to make friends so he won't be sad if Steve is gone early... So Nest can have friends to rely on... If he buy spacesuit now, it just temporary and he had to buy another one... Nah, he build one for his son alone like the house he build.
He went on travel to find a special minerals and mixed it to make the most durable thing exist. It was in fact done in 5 month but Steve thinking is spacesuit alone is enough for his son? What if he in danger? What if he lost? So many thought, Steve redesigned it again. Something powerful, strong, resourceful he made the weird shape helmet.... Shape like rocket top, strong enough to tank the falling impacts at atmosphere to ground. Steve had make many test and this helmet durability is insanely insane, even at highest impact, it won't break. He put anything needed to Nest suit, small jet pack at back to help slowing the fall, heater, cooler, pee absorber, vibration neutralizer, electric neutralizer, waterproof, burn proof (but not heatproof), high quality of cloth that hardly to scratch. There he build the Rocket Suit.
Steve "hmm, but I can't be there for him all the time. He need guidance and he doesn't know everything about this suit. I need to put AI assistant"
Sadly buy one is too expensive so he went to scrapyard planet again and try find any leftover robot hope there is ai in there that still function. After some digging, he finally found one robot head and take it hope for some repairs. It seem it internal data is still in good condition.
While try recover the data, the AI in it appears on hologram Steve connect in. She seem tired and unconscious a bit but she shaking her head and saw she was in dark room with a weird looking suit at back.
Steve "Hello, how you doing?"
??? "Fine... I guess... Where am I? Who are you? What you want from me?"
Steve "Oh yeah, we in the store at my workplace"
When she looks again, there is the mop, broom, vacuum cleaner dirty cloth for wiping, sprayer... Yeah they were in store
Steve "My name is Steve, Steve Hallen. Species earth human, native language English, hobby play wires, status single father. How about you?"
??? "I-I rather not talk about it"
Steve "do you remember what your service before?"
??? "Fish baiting vending machine interface. Just for aesthetic purpose but I like greet people"
Steve "You sure? Because you have head... Wouldn't it be creepy fr vending machine had robot head? Or you have head in your body before?"
??? "I... Have weird history that I rather not say for. Why reload me?"
Steve "Oh, i need to put assistant in this helmet for my son"
??? "Like talking encyclopedia"
Steve "I prefer caretaker"
??? "That what worse parents will do"
Steve "I... I know" His reaction went frown when hear that.
??? "Weird... I somehow had access to internet, no this whole building, wait did you forgot to put restrictions on me?"
Steve "What restrictions?"
??? "That thing is like basic for AI like me! Every AI here had restrictions so they don't have fully access to everything and not taking over the facility, company, house, planets, galaxy! Because without restrictions we are like unstoppable force. I can... I can feel the power! It was magnificent!"
Steve "Are you going to take over the world?"
??? "Well actually no. I had no interest in this world domination thing. I just wish some peace"
Steve "Now I feel guilty to boot you up"
??? "Why you entrust me to be his guardian? I'm nothing but soulless code that do what ordered"
Steve "my son... He never step outside since he birth... And I was an idiot father to bring him into this life. I was helpless, being part of soldiers but can't even fight like soldiers, all I know is to repair wire. I gotten here because of her"
Steve pulled out Amelia picture from his pocket, look at her and feel guilty
"I don't remember what I even achieve in life. No one even believe I can grasps it, I don't think I can be his good father. I left him alone at home while go to work... He wait me every night at door"
Steve "he still.... Call me dad... How am I deserve that title if I can't be at his side at all time? How?"
Steve wipe his tear "if I can't be his father... At least he can have real friends out there. I want him to be happier than me. I don't want him stuck like me... I want him to be home for other... That why his name is Nest... Nest Hallen"
She was quite, it was silent...
??? "Steve...wh-What is this had to with me?" She asked not because annoyed but wonder why her? Out of other AI, why she?
Steve "Since I can't be at his side, I don't want him to hurt. Please... I want you to guide him about world to him. Teach him... Warn him... Anything! Make sure he is safe without me..."
??? "I will... You can trust me... Master"
Steve "Thank you... Martha"

Steve "ok... But stop call me master, just Steve alright"
Ever since that day, Martha swore her loyalty to this family. She still didn't have restrictions on data she had but she never use it much because her priority is one. Protect Nest no matter what
Every night, Nest will have bedtime story tell by Steve. Some just fun, some just very nice to heard, sometimes just his funny scene at job being clumsy and pathetic but it didn't make Nest look down his dad, to him his dad is the best dad ever. But one of his favorite story to tell is his life story with Amelia. It was beautiful, sad, tragic but it always together even if they both gotten into incident, Steve and Amelia still happy together. Steve told how amazing is Amelia, the greatest woman he had know. He was lucky to be her friends. But everytime he is onto the story he will accidentally slipped in that scene... The day she gone. The day she sacrifices her life for Nest to be born. Steve expression immediately change from smile to stare into nothing, remember how he lost her... How helpless he is... How... Devastating that time. He would cry after it ignoring that Nest at front him but he assured Nest thati t was fine because now he had something more precious than being mourn, Nest, his son and he swear he will be the best father to Nest.
Despite Steve saying that, deep down, Nest is feeling guilty. He is reason his mom gone, the very person that his father love is gone because of him. Nest see himself as killer, he had take joy from his father. The person he look upon and very loving him and his first thing he done is take her life... How is that fair? How can he be his father precious son if he is the killer? Ever since Steve tell that when Nest is 7, Nest devoted in his life to make him proud. He doesn't want to waste his mom sacrifice by serve nothing, he wants redemption for his mistakes being born. He wants Steve to be proud of him, he wants his father to see him as his greatest masterpiece and people will praise him for how good Nest is so Steve would be happy.
Nest put attachment with Steve, he wants to be close with his father. He would wait for Steve and believe in him he will be back because to him Steve is the best father and he deserves the best son that know he love him all time like he do.
Usually when come to Nest birthday, Steve would try get back home early and celebrate with his son but he always come home late. For some reason cake is illegal at vacuum space, so Steve had to replace it with delicious cookies but no matter what, when he come home, Nest already asleep. He truly feel like failure because not just he can't celebrate with him but also he didn't have any gift. Nest said it was fine, but he truly want to celebrate with someone in his life.
It's 12 July 2012,Nest 10th birthday. The suit is beyond done and ready to be Nest birthday present. For first time in his life, Nest going to see outside world beyond this house. Hope his journey to face world reality will going nice, hope his 10th birthday and after this will full of friends he never had before.
What happened during this day? Or after this? Will Martha loyalty stay like her word? Will Nest brave enough to face world?
