Thread dropping goes hand-in-hand with roleplaying. Everyone has experienced it, sometimes badly. It absolutely sucks when your thread is dropped without warning, especially when you were attached to it or when there was no head’s up.
There’s a right way to drop a thread and a wrong way. Just like there’s a way to approach the situation when you suspect your thread has been dropped.
Some Common Sense Tips for Being an Excellent Play Partner
So, since I am currently in muse limbo, and I have been RPing for a very, very, very long time in many kinds of formats, I figured I would list some tips I’ve picked up along the way which make for a universally better roleplay experience. Obviously these are based on my experience, but they might just help you, too. Take them or not as you choose!
Communicate, communicate, communicate. One of the very best things you can do is to keep in touch with your playfriends. If you have questions, ask them. If you want to change tracks, ask them. If you want to do something which might be detrimental to their muse, tell them. If you want them to do something that might be detrimental to yours, tell them! But also, too, don’t be afraid of just becoming their friend. It makes the experience so much more enriching.
Take an active, genuine interest in the other person’s muse. If you tend to want to treat other muses (and muns) as something which only exists to gratify your muse and play, you’re going to struggle to keep play partners and threads going. But if you take an active interest in the other guy and their muse, then chances are, your partner will reciprocate and your play will be that much better. No one likes to feel used. Your muse may be the center of your RP world, but that also goes the same for everyone else. Taking an active, genuine interest makes everyone feel better.
You’re allowed to say ‘yes.’ That master-slave AU plot with hardcore torture you want to play but are shy about? Don’t be! No one here’s judging you, and if they are, then they are not worth listening to. Obviously be safe and make sure you and your partner are of age to do so, but if you both are, whatever plot you want to run is for yours and your partner’s enjoyment. Go for it!
You’re allowed to say ‘no.’ Sometimes people might pressure you towards something that might either damage your muse in ways you don’t want, or just otherwise make your play experience uncomfortable. You are absolutely allowed – and encouraged! – to say no. You are beholden to no one. Your muse is yours, and if you don’t want to allow them to be used in a storyline like that, then by all means speak up and say no.
Debriefing (not the sexy kind) works. Sometimes, we get into some really intense play. Anyone who tells you that RP can’t have a major influence on how you feel is being unrealistic. Sure, there’s a definite line between IC and OOC, and letting it damage your real life is not an option, but even when you have that line drawn, some kinds of play get intense. They make you feel. Sometimes, too, they make you feel badly. TALK ABOUT IT. Discuss it with your playpals, and get it out in the open. If your partner doesn’t wish to listen and talk after an intense play experience, then you probably need to disengage from them, because talking about it and processing it will be good for both mun and muse.
Don’t make it all about your muse, all the time.One of the hardest things to deal with is when an otherwise well-meaning playpal always steals center stage. Your muse just got hurt. Suddenly, their muse has to be hurt a hundred times worse. Don’t be that guy. Yes, your muse is yours, but one of the most subtle, awful ways to undermine your playpartner is to never allow them the spotlight, to steal it at first opportunity. This isn’t a game of one-upsmanship, it’s a game of mutual collaboration and cooperation. Therefore, collaborate, cooperate and share. You will have much better play.
Don’t devalue yourself or your muse. Trust me, you are worthy. You don’t need to do anything but bring your creativity to the table, and make an honest, active, courteous effort to be a good play partner. You don’t need to buy anyone’s affections. Just come and play and realize that yes, you’re worth it, and so is your muse, and you will probably feel a lot better. Confidence and attitude goes a long, long way.
Ask questions, read Abouts, continue to communicate. Sometimes, you can find a great play hook in someone’s About. And asking someone clarifying questions about their muse is a great way to engage and make people feel good, because everyone puts a lot of time and care into this. Being asked about things and getting to discuss things is so very much fun, so don’t be afraid to ask. Get into meta discussions. Track a piece of character psychology. You won’t regret it.
However you see your muse, not everyone is going to see them the same. Not everyone is going to like them. Not everyone is going to find them as wonderful as you. Conversely, someone may come to adore them even more than you, too. Any which way, though, not everyone is going to have the same point of view; leave room for interpretation and be gracious. Don’t get angry if your character is not universally loved by all; doing so only makes people less likely, not more, to play with you.
Always remember that ICA=ICC. I literally cannot hammer on this enough. If your character does something in game, then you cannot expect them to get off without consequences. If they attack someone, they need to be prepared for a counterattack. If they do something awful, they should be prepared to be untrusted regardless of motivation. Very few things are more frustrating than someone mass slaughtering fifty NPCs and then everyone being expected to accept it just so a character can maintain their reputation. Generally speaking, if something would upset someone in real life, it will probably upset characters in game, too. We might deal with the extraordinary, but the basic laws of cause and effect, of action and consequence, remains the same.

Thread Droppee and Thread Dropper
As a Thread Droppee
Your thread has been dropped! At least that’s what you suspect. It’s been a while, or you see the character responding to other threads. Yet your thread goes ignored and no one’s messaging you. Why aren’t they replying?
They might be on hiatus! First things first, check the hiatus list! Sometimes when players go on hiatus, they aren’t able to message their RP partners. If this is the case, then it’s likely when they return from hiatus they will either continue the thread or message you about it.
Not on hiatus? They may just still be replying! Especially since Sumner is a paragraph roleplay, threads take longer to play out then they might in an all gif chat RP.
They could have forgotten about the thread, or missed your reply. Tumblr being as fickle as it is, this happens more often than people would like. It sucks for everyone, but it happens. If you really want to, you can message your thread partner asking about it, but that responsibility shouldn’t be on you and you shouldn’t feel like you have to chase people down for replies.
A handy site that that helps with this is RPThreadTracker! It keeps track of all your threads, lets you know whose turn it is on what and does this across multiple accounts!
They could have dropped it without a message. Maybe they felt awkward dropping, maybe they just didn’t want to talk to anyone. Whatever their reason was, it doesn’t excuse the fact that doing this is bad roleplay etiquette. Which is what we will talk about in the next section.
Now, let’s say your thread was dropped and the Thread Dropper did end up messaging you about it. Does this reflect negatively on you as a Player or your character? Is it a group-wide impression of you or your character? No! This just means that the Thread Dropper was unable to write that thread, simple as that. Don’t let one dropped thread discourage you in your roleplaying endeavors with that person or with the rest of the group!
As a Thread Dropper
If you need to drop a thread, there should be no shame in that! Sometimes life gets hectic, you have too many threads, there’s other things going on in the roleplay that you want to focus on, the thread just doesn’t have a lot of chemistry, the player seems to be placing certain expectations on the thread that you aren’t sure you can match and more. The list goes on. However, if you do plan on dropping a thread, you need to message to let the other person know ahead of time. It’s inconsiderate and rude to drop a thread with no warning, leaving the Thread Droppee to wonder what the reason was, if it was really dropped or if you just forgot, etc.
Yes, messaging someone about dropping a thread can be Awkward with a capital A, but a few moments of awkwardness on your part is definitely better than leaving someone else feeling inferior to other characters or ignored. When you are dropping a thread:
Give them a reason! If you just message someone saying, “I’m dropping our thread!” they’re back to Square One, where the Thread Droppee is wondering what they did wrong. Be as honest as you can. If it’s because things are crazy IRL, let them know! Or if you just have too many threads and theirs is the oldest, tell them. It’ll probably make them feel a lot better to know the reason why. Now, maybe the reason isn’t general. Maybe the characters just don’t have chemistry or your writing styles don’t mesh! And that’s alright! It always happens in the RPing world, you’re just not that into them! Still, give them a reason. You don’t have to outright say “I don’t like your writing,” but give them something!
Be as polite as possible! This probably goes without saying, but sometimes people need reminding. Tone doesn’t transfer over the internet, so word choice is key. If you’re dropping the thread because you’re too busy, maybe offer another thread when things die down!
SIDE NOTE: As Players in a group it is OUR responsibility to keep track of our threads. Try to practice good ‘rp hygiene’ and stay abreast of your threads. Some tips and tricks:
Keep a list of your open threads somewhere. Keeping it public (as a page on your account, etc) can help others know you’re aware of their thread!
Use the OOC blog to note who you owe replies to and if you missed anyone, people can message you. Sometimes, all people need is permission.
Message people to ask! Check in with fellow Players to make sure you haven’t missed anyone. We can all be forgetful at times!
TL;DR
Always message people about dropping a thread if you can. Don’t feel to blame if your thread is dropped, since there are an endless amount of reasons why it may have been the case.
The majority of people have been having problems with their replies, having the previous reply disappear. The reason this is happening is because there’s a problem with the Xkit extension, editable reblogs and the script for tumblr conflicting.
The solution is simple!
Uninstall editable reblogs. But don’t worry, there will still be a way for you to edit replies!
Install tampermonkey if you haven’t already

Now you have editable reblogs back and you can still see the other persons reply!

There is nothing more discouraging when your character is trying to converse, but the other character keeps shutting you down or alternately, does not reciprocate. It can be disheartening, exhausting, and no fun. Even more importantly, it’s bad RPing.
Examples of shut downs:
the character keeps giving negative responses
the character will answer questions but then will offer no follow-up
there is a lot of internal exposition, but then the character only responds with a word or two
the character belittles or dismisses the other character’s thoughts, suggestions, questions, then does not add anything
the character is too shy or afraid to speak or take any action; waits for the other character to take initiative
the character challenges the other character to impress them somehow, before they decide to engage
the character refuses to engage in any way: refuses to consider ideas, shows no interest, abruptly leaves
If you realize your character consistently uses a few of these tactics, you may think: “but my character is grumpy/an asshole/anti-social/really shy/scared/bitchy/a loner/hates people/has issues! It’s natural for them to act that way!“
This might be true, but the Mun/Player does not have to write that way. There is a difference between the Mun’s character’s personality, and the Mun’s writing. RPing is interactive and it’s a two-way street. As a Mun, it is your responsibility to figure out how to be engaging and encouraging to your partner, regardless of your character’s personality.
Below the cut are some suggested ways to improve RP interaction, and make things fun for both RP thread partners.

Using improv techniques can be really useful for RPing interaction!
One of the main concerns of the conversationally-impaired is how to continue a conversation once it's started.
1. ‘Yes, and’ technique (x):
Accept what the other character says as a contribution to the conversation, then add to that. Your fellow Player’s character makes an ‘offer’ (ie: says or does something), and your writing adds to it. It’s not as easy as it sounds. However, using ‘Yes, and’ creates an improvised conversation where the story-line develops in fun and surprising ways for both RP Partners.
example of NOT doing ‘Yes, and’ in conversation:
"Hey!” said Character A. “Your lunch looks great. Did you make that yourself?”
"Uh, no I bought it,” Character B replied.
This just shuts the Character A down entirely. They have no where to go with this response, and it doesn’t help conversation flow.
example of doing ‘Yes, and’ in conversation:
"Hey!” said Character A. “Your lunch looks great. Did you make that yourself?”
"Yes, and it was really difficult to make,” Character B sighed. “Baking bread is so hard.”
You do not have to literally use ‘Yes, and’ in the character’s response. When writing, apply the concept to keep your writing positive and flowing. Your character can still be negative, but you can still imply ‘Yes, and’.
example of using ‘Yes, and’ as a writing application:
"Hey!” said Character A. “Your lunch looks great. Did you make that yourself?”
Character B looked incredulous. “Uh, no I bought it. You think this looks good? Ugh. Wanna trade lunches?”
By adding a follow-up to the answer, you’ve continued conversation.

2. Don’t block ( x )
Blocking is when your RP partner tries to take the action in one direction, and you deny them– either because you don’t recognize the direction they’re headed, or because you have your own ideas of where it should go.
If another character suggests an idea, don’t shut them down immediately. Even if your character is negative, it’s then up to you to offer a counter-offer. If your character says no, then think of something they can suggest in return, or an action that your partner’s character can react to, or some alternative.
example #1 of blocking:
"Wow that lightning storm last night was incredible,” marveled Character A.
Character B shrugged. “Not really.”
This puts the onus on Character A’s Player to continue the conversation, which isn’t good or fair RPing.
example #2 of blocking:
“Wow that lightning storm last night was incredible,” marveled Character A.
Character B looked down, thinking of last night and how loud the lightning was. It lit up his entire house, and it seemed like it would go on forever. Usually Character B didn’t care about storms, but this one felt so close and so loud, it was almost felt like his roof would come off at any moment. Still, for most of the evening, Character B just remained in his basement, reading books and waiting it out. He shrugged. “Not really.”
This is basically the same as above, but padded with internal exposition that is essentially useless to conversation. If exposition serves no purpose to an interaction, then it’s informational but not particularly helpful for RPing.
example of NOT blocking:
"Wow that lightning storm last night was incredible,” marveled Character A.
Character B shrugged. “Not really.” But then Character B looked down, thinking of last night and how loud the lightning was. It lit up his entire house, and it seemed like it would go on forever. He eyed Character A suspiciously. “I tried to read, but the storm knocked my power out. Don’t tell me it was just my house and not the whole neighborhood?”
This is the same as the other two examples, but Character B’s Player has taken the time and effort to think of how to keep the conversation going.

‘THE BEST’ VS ‘SHOW YOUR WORK’
RPing isn’t a competition, it should be collaborative. Muns don’t need to prove the character is interesting by boasting about how great their muse is. That’s bad RPing. Your character might think they are better and they might act like they are better. But as the writer, it’s up to you to make it clear that this is their opinion of how they see themselves.
If your character has an aspect that is a cut above others in some respect (they are extremely athletic, they are a skilled liar, they are effectively seductive, etc), then it is the Player’s responsibility to put in the work to demonstrate this via interaction and plot.
1. Show, don’t tell.
Saying your character is the more badass, or more reclusive, or more smart, or more sexy is an informed trait. And informed trait is when a character’s trait is mentioned rather than demonstrated. Example:
Character A had the best singing voice, this was undisputed. No one could ever match her in singing, and she brought tears to the eyes of even the most stoic people with her beautiful singing. When she sang, people had to stop what they were doing just to listen, so entranced were they that they’d forget everything else but that sweet sound. Her voice was the purest and most angelic sound they had ever heard.
In an RP with many various Players and characters, this isn’t good RPing and it’s borderline godmodding. You cannot write that ‘no one’ was better than her - how do you know? It’s insulting to your RP partners to inform them that their characters should be impressed by your character’s trait, just because you wrote it.
Here’s an alternative (the modest version):
Character A was convinced that she had the best singing voice. Her tutor told her that no one could ever match her in singing, and she never doubted his opinion. She prized her talent, and was eager to share it with others. Would other people feel the same way that her tutor did? Was he truly in awe of her talent, or was he just paid to tell her that? She really hoped it was the former. She really believed she could bring happiness to people with her voice.
Here you are giving the other Player’s character a rightful chance to decide for themselves. Maybe they do like her singing voice, maybe they don’t, maybe they’re neutral. They have their own reasons for liking or disliking things. You’ve established that Character A can sing, and it’s up to the other character to help her shine (or not shine!)
Here’s another example (the vanity version):
Character A decided that she had the best singing voice. Other people tried to say they could sing just as well, but she always found flaws in their singing, whereas she only saw perfection in her own. She deserved to be a star, and the rave reviews proved it to her. The criticizing reviews were just petty and jealous, of course. At least this is what she told herself, when she ripped the newspaper clippings into thin shreds. Nothing was going to get in her way of achieving her success.
Here, you are establishing that yes, she likely does have a good singing voice, but she also has flaws surrounding it. This version is not so much about how others are in awe, as it is about how Character A is seeing her talent through a very biased lens. It adds a complexity to the character that is missing from the original version.
NOTE #1: NPCs are an echo chamber. Having NPCs in your exposition confirm your character’s trait demonstrates nothing.
NOTE #2: Stop relying on that FC. Yeah, you think your FC is hot. All FCs are hot. Pretty much all Players think their character/FC is fantastic. It’s simply not enough to just proclaim your character is amazing and then sit back. Show your work!
2. Be generous!
A character can be an ass, but Players shouldn’t be. All Players should make an effort to enjoy aspects other people’s characters. It will enrich the RP experience. By giving others an opportunity to shine, both characters will end up shining.
If you find you are constantly writing (in exposition or in dialog) that the other person’s character is wrong, stupid, foolish or any other negative trait when that Player is trying to interact in a thread, it can get not just exhausting but also frustrating. Use exposition to make it clear that even if your character is being an ass, it doesn’t mean you think the other character is terrible.
Example of being an ass:
Character A did something.
Character B snorted impatiently. That was a stupid thing that Character A just did. What was she thinking? She clearly had no clue what she was doing. “Here, let me do that, you’ll just mess it up.”
Basically all you’ve done as a writer was put the other writer (and their character) down. That’s not fair or good RPing.
Example of the character being an ass:
Character A did something.
Character B snorted impatiently. He believed she wasn’t doing it right, because he’d been taught a specific method. And his way was the only way - at least, in his bullheaded opinion. Character B simply couldn’t understand any alternative, and so he decided she was wrong. “You’re ruining it,” he complained, even though Character A was not. He made a grab for it. “Let me do that, you’re messing it up.”
This way, the writer acknowledges that THEY are aware that Character B isn’t necessarily right, even if Character B thinks he’s totally right.

ARE YOU NOT ENTERTAINED?
Last but not least: IT IS NO ONE ELSE’S JOB TO ENTERTAIN OR IMPRESS OTHER CHARACTERS.
No other character ever needs to prove to another character that they are ‘worthy’ of being RP’d with. Unless it’s been pre-planned between Players. Otherwise this is just an implied ‘impress me’ OOCly from one Player to another. Helpful points:
Don’t put other characters (and their Players) through RP ‘tests’.
Don’t expect them to perform for your character’s whim while you give nothing in return.
Don’t put the onus on the other Player to devise clever and imaginative ways to have their character be acceptable to yours.
Don’t use a character’s ‘boredom’ as an excuse for lack of imagination.
Don’t challenge other characters to impress your character
Don’t withhold RP just because your character has deigned the other character inadequate somehow
Example of an RP test:
“Hi there,” Character A grinned. “Can you help me out? I’m in a bit of trouble.”
Character B folded his arms as he stared at Character A. “Why would I help you?” Character B wasn’t going to budge until Character A gave him a good reason to.
Don’t force the other Player to drive the interaction, especially by having to ‘wow’ your character. Giving ultimatums or threats of denying RP if they don’t come up with the perfect way to convince your character is bad RPing.
Here’s a better way to write this scenario:
“Hi there,” Character A grinned. “Can you help me out? I’m in a bit of trouble.”
Character B folded his arms and squinted at Character A, sizing her up. “I don’t just help anyone, you know. I’m busy doing my own thing and I got enough trouble of my own.” He could have left it there, but something about Character A’s odd grin made him relent slightly. “What do you need help with, anyway? Not that I’ll help. I’m just asking.”

And seeing as that post seems to be slowing down, I think it’s about time I post all of the lovely types and information I gathered from the wonderful witchy community who got involved ~ So, enjoy! ➺ Rainy
Each type includes a simplified description, a few examples, and almost every bolded term includes a link to a (hand-picked) useful post/website for that type of practice
Solitary - Practicing by ones’ self; not included in a group
Secular - Non-religious / Not connecting with deity(s)
Eclectic - An individual’s practice that has bits and pieces pulled from different magickal and/or spiritual practices, respectfully
(Theistic) Satanic - Witchcraft that is often centered around honoring and/or working with satan in spellwork and prayer
Athiest Satanic - Witchcraft worked with the idea that satan is a concept, rather than a real person. These practicers also do not “worship” in the same way the above would.
Hereditary/Blood - Including oneself in the practice of witchcraft on the grounds of having been born into a family who also practices. Knowledge and practice may also be passed down through generations, and honor old ways of magick
Traditional - One who practices witchcraft by honoring and using old and ‘traditional’ ways of magick; this type of witch would not be one to practice urban or innovative witchcraft, for example
Christian - Witchcraft that is performed to honor / or is performed in conjunction with the Christian God as the primary and only deity
Voodoo - A practice with origins in western Africa and a few other near Africa, which eventually came to the Caribbean area. It focuses on two separate worlds intertwined, spirit-related beliefs, and other beliefs unique to this practice!
Hellenic - A form of non-witchcraft practice in which the practicer follows Greek ideals/culture and honors the Greek pantheon
Celtic - Magickal practice that is based from the Celtic culture, including its’ mythology, deities, old ways, and (occasionally) language / symbols.
Science - A form of magick in which both metaphysical ideas and scientific facts/theories are mixed in together by the individual practicer
Types of Witchcraft
Keep in mind that each term’s explaination is the basic description of that type of witchcraft/magick; each individual witch might be a certain type but define it differently, as their practice may be different from the next witch

Green - Utilizing greenery/plants/herbs/flowers in herbal and natural magick, such as creating blends of different plants or using primarily herbs in spellwork
Hedge - Also known as an astral title, a type of magick that is oriented around more spiritual work; astral travel/projection, lucid dreaming, spirit-work, healing, and out-of-body experiences are all practices included in this magick
Dream - (A possible variation of Hedge) Mindful and internal magickal practice mainly based from interpreting dreams and/or engaging in lucid dreaming. Those who intensify as this may “de-code” symbols and messages in the dream world similar to how one would use a divination technique.
Sea - A type of magick derived from materials and abstract ideas involving the ocean and oceanic world. Sea/Ocean magick can be worked using seashells and bones, sea weed, beach sand, driftwood, ocean water, etc. and a sea witch might draw their energy from that of the sea!
Storm/Weather - Magick that is worked by combining one’s energy with the energy of the weather, and most commonly rain. Weather witches will do things like collect rain/snow water, absorb the energy of a lightning storm, “whistle up” or manipulate wind, predict the weather, etc.
Cottage / Hearth - (A slight variation from kitchen) Magick that is weaved, worked, or embued into mundane tasks around the house or for loved ones. Cottage/Hearth magick may be worked into daily tasks such as cleaning, cooking, or any hobbies
Kitchen - Magick that is worked specifically through “kitchen craft” such as herbal mixtures, brewing, baking, and cooking, and honors many aspects of the natural world: including herbs, crystals, fey, and the elements
Tea - Those who drink tea, make tea, use tea-leaf divination, or enjoy blending herbal remedies! A variant of Kitchen/Cottage witch
Tech - Magick that is skillfully worked through technology! A tech witch will most likely have at least a few magickal apps on their phone, digital sigils, or an online/digital BoS and/or Grimoire
Garden - While having a garden and/or working in any type of garden; magick that is mostly (if not all) herbal and botanical-related! Garden witches take pride and find it calming or invigorating to work the earth, harvest that which they have planted, and are closely related to Green type
Elemental - Magick that is worked by honoring/acknowledging the 4 or all 5 elements: Water, Earth, Air, Fire, and Spirit. Commonly an Elementalist will dedicate different areas of their altars to each element, call upon them during spells and rituals, and use symbols to represent each
Water - Specifically centered on the element of Water; water scrying, collecting sea/storm/snow/river/spring water, swimming/bath spells and other water-related actives, creating and using symbols associated with water
Earth - Specifically centered on the element of Earth; grounding exercises, rock/soil collecting, strong appreciation of the natural world, creating and using symbols associated with earth
Air - Specifically centered on the element of Air; working with wind, using air-related tools (such as the wand), creating and using symbols associated with air
Fire - Specifically centered on the element of Fire; Using anything fire-related (bonfires, candles, burning objects) in most spellwork, creating and using symbols associated with fire
Flora - Much like a Green or Garden witch, those who work majorily with floral materials and flowers in their practice and in their spellwork! Their grimoire may be heavily associated with flowers rather than herbs, and likewise, one might use flower properties in spell or craft work.
Urban Primative/City - For those who live or prefer the urban/city lifestyle; magick that can be worked without the seemingly “traditional” ways of witchcraft
Faery/Fey - Magick for those who communicate and work with the fey during spells and rituals. Usually, those who work with the fey may also leave offerings regularly, as thanks for the assistance of a faery in their spellwork.
Spirit Working - A practice in which the person will perform spellwork in conjunction with or with the help of any manner of spirit. This includes Ouija, (sometimes) demon spirits, spiritual contact, etc.
Draconian - Refers to type of magick for those who call upon or work with dragons and dragon imagery in their practice; whether it be through astral matters or in spells and rituals
Seasonal - Witches who utilize and draw energy from the specific times of year for their magick, sort of how a person might have a strong love or connection to a certain time of year! This can also be spread out into Winter, Autumn, Spring and Summer witches
Embroidery / Sewing / Knit - One who embues magick into household “stitching” or “string” hobbies such as embroidery, sewing, knitting, stringing, and knotting ~ Basically, one who identifies with using knot or chord magick in many different skills
Paper - Magick that is worked with, essentially, paper! Burning paper written with sigils, chants, symbols or spells, creating magickal offerings, items, or sachels from paper, etc.
Music - Magick that is worked with music, musical chimes, or rhythm! Humming/singing, clapping, singing chants during spells, playing instruments (even simple ones, like the triangle or bells), or even just simply playing music during spellwork, magick, or during energy exercises are a few common things a music witch might fancy
Chaos/Chaotic - A type of magick utilizing new, non-traditional, and unorthodox methods. It is a new and highly individualistic practice, while still drawing from other common forms of magick.
Animal - (A variant of Green) Magick that is strongly tied to the animal kingdom, which includes a deep appreciation for all animals, and most often: usage of animal materials in spellwork. An animal witch will most likely be one who loves animals, a person who animals are immediently “drawn” to, and those who appreciate the natural world. Some animal witches might also use bones, wings, feathers, fur, skin, scales, (etc). from deceased animals in their magick, if they choose to do so.
Sanguine - Meaning “blood” or “blood red color” in Latin, a type of magick that deals with blood or other life giving fluid; life blood can also be represented through things such as water, or nutrients. A term for those who work with blood and life-oriented magick!
Sigil - A witchcraft working majorly with sigils, and the intent that can be put into them to active their power
Art/Craft - Witchcraft that can be worked through arts and crafts, simply put! One may embue macgick in creative activities such as painting, drawing, building, cutting, creating, etc.
Grey - A neutral witch, who practices magick that neither benefits or harms others. Grey magick may also both harm and benefit at the same time, balancing and neutralizing.
Bone - Witches who commonly collect, clean, and use animal bones in their magickal practice, and for things like altar decoration or magick-infused charms/jewelry. Materials used by those who identify as Bone witches are usually collected peacefully or after the being has passed on naturally!
Lunar - One who works magick with / honors the moon and it’s energy and phases. This type of witch is also one to favor casting magick during the night hours rather than during the day
Astronomy - (A wider variant of lunar) Those who practice magick and correlate their beliefs in conjunction with the planets and stars! These witches may focus their magick with the properties of each planet, regularly read a horoscope or study astrology, and have a love of the stars and the night.
Energy - Those who prefer to do magick through energy exercises and manipulation rather than with many physical tools or materials; using the enhanced power of the mind and the body’s natural energies to bring about a magickal result or feeling. (Also may include aura work)
Crystal - Magick that is worked commonly with stones and crystals, such as during spellwork or for crystal healing techniques. This may also include chakra balance, crystal meditation… anything that uses crystals, really! A crystal witch may also have an extensive knowledge of stones, including how to identify them and using their properties.
Literary - Those who practice magick through books and literature; a literary witch may do thing such as using book divination, often study witchcraft/magick even after the “beginner” phase of learning, etc. Also a term used to describe witches in stories, books, or movies.

I’ve seen a few posts going around about “disposable email accounts” and I haven’t reblogged any because while maybe it would be useful to have a throwaway email account one day, it’s not the best way to deal with Tumblr RP accounts. Not when you could have one email account for all your RPing needs. Here are three simple steps to quick and easy Tumblr account creation.
STEP ONE: Get a Gmail account.
Gmail is a completely free email service run by Google, and I’m pretty sure everyone knows about it by now. You should sign up for an email that’s easy to remember, but it’s not really important what it is. For example purposes, We’ll use [email protected]
STEP TWO: Create a Tumblr account.
Here is where the magic happens. With Gmail, you can use this one email for all of your Tumblr account needs. It’s all thanks to the + symbol. For each new account, add a + after your username in your email and add a descriptor. I like to use these to organize my accounts so each one is unique and easy to remember. Whether that be the character I’m playing ([email protected]), the game I’m in ([email protected]), or the purpose of the account ([email protected]), you can use as many different descriptors as you can imagine and Tumblr will accept them all as separate email addresses.
STEP THREE: Activate your account.
Once you’ve created your account, all you need to do is go to that single email address you created and all of your notifications for every account will go to the same inbox. Congratulations! Not only do you have a one stop location for every account, but if you for some reason forget your password, you know exactly where to go to get the reset notification.
If you’re looking for an easier way to track threads other than using tumblr activity, try rpthreadtracker! There’s a tutorial on how to use it right on the home page and it looks pretty easy and accessible! Especially useful for when the dash is extremely busy or if you have a lot of characters.
So Tumblr changed code again, so if you’ve noticed it can be hard to click the like or reblog buttons on your friend’s actual pages for individual post.
What’s causing this problem?
The z-index.
They changed it to 100. And whatever is there, whether it’s your header or some fandom scarves, has a higher number.
In my case it’s my “cente” or my header.
How do we fix this?
