hmm, i dunno maybe it’s just me but some words thrill me and make me nervous at the same time...like lover... as in this is my lover...something about that is so damn sexy and naughty.

it ain’t always easy, but it’s sooooo worth it!

I spent a whole day with Rickey Smith from Urban Green a few weeks ago for American Express’ OPEN Forum. We traveled from Highland Park where he lives, to China Town/Lincoln Heights where he maintains an urban garden, to Chino Hills for one of his organic farms, all the way to Sun Valley where his commercial kitchen lies. The day was filled with conversations about small business struggles and victories, LA traffic, eating, the rewards of picking lettuce from the ground, and kale chamomile pesto - which I still want to try very badly! A very educational shoot to say the least about food and farming in LA.

some days i wake up ready to rock and roll. other days i just want to stay in bed and watch the light move across my room. and everyday i try to find something to be grateful for, even on the crappiest days...

i’m loooooooooong overdue for a sweet vacay...even though i can’t swim, i miss the ocean
