some sort of continuation i guess, of the miscellaneous meta i did right here!

i. i talked once how jonathan still feels very indifferent about his father. the same could be said about the belmont clan. he feels spiteful towards them since the burden they entrusted them with is an accursed one that slowly kills them one after the other. i don’t think jonathan feels conflicted with his status as the vampire - killer’s heir & the compromise he has to deal with, ( in fact he shoulders it with ease & is even carefree about it ) but i do believe that there is some grudge about what it inflicted to his family.

ii. jonathan’s optimistic behavior & contagious enthusiasm isn’t without flaws. while many see him only as such, there is more than meets the eyes; his inner turmoils are rather well - hidden & he keeps his heart shut. he may forgive, but he rarely forgets. jonathan’s impulsive, heartfelt nature makes him prone to brutal honesty; he cannot lie to save his life. his simplistic nature reflects in his integrity.

iii. now, back to the vampire - killer. since his blood isn’t accustomed to the weapon’s unlocked potential, jonathan suffers the short term consequences. after some long hours of using the whip, migraines are bound to happen, along the followings that may also happen; nausea, sudden exhaustion, abundant nose bleeding, & the list goes on. ( note that in my harmony of despair verse, jonathan does use the vampire - killer. in the main verse, after dracula’s defeat, he puts it aside even though he used it only briefly. )

iv. harmony of despair’s description of jonathan really does him disservice. while he may be no belmont, the credits have to be given; he killed ( along with his childhood best friend, charlotte ) both dracula & death when he was barely eighteen. jonathan also always managed really well without the whip, which indicates how resourceful he actually is, & also stood up successfully against richter. his strength comes from himself only. the belmont family is reputed to bear powers, which the morris clan retains but to a much lesser extent through its far, distant blood tie with said former family. jonathan predisposition to holy talents may not be as grand as the belmonts’, but it’s still very much present, along with enhanced physical strength & other capabilities.

The Belmont mutters to himself, while holding the vampire-killer. He was friends with a member of the Morris family, questions started to form in the young adult’s mind.

“How exactly did you get the whip…Jonathan?”

the other’s severe countenance tempts him to wear a more eased one, a light - hearted smile tugging at one corner of his mouth. jonathan’s clear eyes shift, staring at the sacred weapon that his hand grasps firmly. this man, richter, proved himself to be the last wielder of his bloodline, & would someday pass it to his own family. an accursed gift, which would strip away any morris’ life without mercy.

     ❛ well, i don’t know what you know, but... it’s been passed down in my family for quite a while, now. they say the belmont clan will reclaim the whip in year 1999. until then, they can’t touch the vampire - killer. ❜

feet shuffle lazily on debris, trying to find whatever could be useful on their quest. there’s a snort, his imagination working on depicting his comrade’s suggestion. dracula, the lord of darkness... so easily mocked, yet jonathan can’t deny his frightening nature.

     ❛ his naps are quite long so i’m sure he does. why not ask him when we’ll meet him? ❜ he inquires, a brow quirking up as he smiles mischievously.

he steps back, eagerly standing ‘pon toes as if he could take a better look by doing so. chin is lifted, as he words out his curiosity.

the vague answers leaves him eager for more, brow quirking in confusion. ❛ alright kid... it’s nice to meet you, trevor. ❜  ——trevor as in, trevor belmont? the hazard baffles him in an amusing way, disregarding the thought rather quickly. it was an usual name, after all. 

this is a world where he ignores everything from. could it be possible that a village rests nearby? sky hues observe the small boy, crouching at his level to discuss further, a faint smile etching unto cheeks.
