Fuck, the marauders story is tragic

Guys, I get it. I finally get it.

I've always been a movie watcher. Never read the books before and never cared to do so. I was fine, everything was fine back then. Now flash forward and I grew tired of the 'yOu DoN't gEt iT cAuSe YoU didn't rEaD tHe bOoKs' that gets weaponized against the people who never had the opportunity to read them before. So I made a decision to read them (not spending a dime on you know who while doing so of course) and I like them a lot. I was sad. I cried. But I lived.

Now flash forward again and there's this youtuber 'Movieflame' who made a video about harry potter fanfics. I was immediately interested because I had never read one before. Never had the urge to. But I had always heard of the popular ships such as dramione and wolfstar etc. So naturally I clicked and immediately went to the comments. One of the top comments was about a fanfic called "All the young dudes"... yup. I was curious like the dumb bitch I am and I went to check just how many hits it had on Ao3 and what pairing it was.

18 million hits and I knew I had to read at least a bit.

Well. BIG mistake.

I ended up spending days not doing ANYTHING but reading this story.

Now I'm traumatized and distraught because

1. I finally really grasp how tragic their stories actually are in a way I never could through the movies or even the books...

2. I ended up in an ancient/perhaps dead fandom and have absolutely no one to talk to about it...

3. Liking a ship I never got before and even liking James Potter??? (At least atyd's version of James)

Is there anyone to even talk to about this at this point?
