for sungbin, the peace and quiet that came with working in a bookstore was both a blessing and a curse. while it gave him pretty much all the time in the world to do as he pleased, it also meant he went hours without any human interaction. he was never a ‘people-person’ to begin with but spending six hours alone in an bare shop had its drawbacks. it must have been a good two hours since the last customer left and sungbin found himself playing with the register as he tried to keep himself entertained. tampering with the machine only lasted a few minutes before the soft sound of a bell ringing alerted the male to a new presence in the room. “if you’re looking for the bakery it’s actually next door, and the diner’s just around the corner. but if you’re looking for the bookstore, well you’ve found it.”

hello hello~ i’m cam/cammie (18 + she/her + pst ) and this dorky bookworm is sungbin! . i’ll have a more organized bio about sungbin up in a bit, but for now i do have a small connections page up here. if you’d like to plot feel free to send a message or give this post a little heart ♡ but for some basics about sungbin, see below!

so sungbin is currently 20 y/o and works in a small, old-fashion book store--he’s legit like the only worker there minus the owner--and spends pretty much most of his time there

he was born and raised in a small town way out in the countryside where everyone was pretty much considered low-class

his parents were both teens when his mom got pregnant and his father wasn’t ready to have a child so she raised sungbin as a single mom

they lived in a single bedroom rented out to them by a generous family and worked on their farm for rent and to make a little money

graduated high school but never went off to college due to the cost and lack of interest

he moved to seoul by himself like a year ago after his mom passed away from health complications

the city-life is still brand new too him so he’s still trying to adapt to the new surroundings

he’s generally very polite and kind but tends to be skeptical about opening up to others because he associates people from the city as being greedy and arrogant

has never even held someone’s hand let alone been in a relationship and is honestly really pessimistic about the whole idea of “love” and thinks it’s unrealistic

literature and animals are probably his two only real passions in life

simply put, sungbin is a just a country boy working in a bookstore, trying to adapt to life in the city. he’s a gentleman 99% of the time and doesn’t like to stray away from things that he’s comfortable with, and has trust-issues because he has never had to deal with people who weren’t like him. he’s still childish at heart and devotes himself to people and things that he truly cares for, although finding them is rare.
