Look at this incredible art work. It’s stunning.
And it works!
Hissrich admits that when she first wrote the Roach death scene, her instinct was to puncture the moment with a bit of meta-comedy. Henry Cavill pushed for a more heartfelt moment, and eventually Hissrich caved — which she says was ultimately the right call.
I’d be embarrassed to say this if I was the showrunner. Talk about questionable taste. Henry must be rolling his eyes daily.
'The Witcher' actor Joey Batey photographed by Bex Aston. Styled by Annabel Lucy. Interviewed by Sophia Razvi. Grooming by Petra Sellge.
I was surprised to read a Joey had left home at sixteen to go to,school in France without his family. It wasn’t clear if this was so he could have intensive training in French so he could do his Cambridge degree. He mentions finding a family to take him in when he was in France so it doesn’t sound like something the average 16 year old would do!
Has he mentioned this in any other interview? I could have sworn I’d read he’d been bullied in school and wondered if that’s why he had gone abroad and why his family had agreed to it.
One of the worst written scenes in season 2 of The Witcher was the scene at the docks. The dialogue between Jaskier and the old guy was perfect. Very funny and well acted but when the writers decided to beat the shit out of the actor who played Mosley in Downton Abbey at the end of it the tonal shift was appalling. At the very least they needed a scene where Jaskier worked through how his actions resulted in someone having to pay for his cock ups. It’s moments like that you know the showrunner isn’t up to the job. How did that scene ever get through the writers sessions and any rewrites or even when the director got hold of it.
The writing was blood awful this season.
Joey Batey would be perfect for The film version of Wicked as Fiyero.
Ah so it wasn't just our collective imagination. Joey Batey really did carry the show since Cavill would apparently just flat out refuse to say the lines written for him.
Cool, nbd.
I actually think that as Henry pitched his voice so low he has trouble talking for too long. It’s partly a character decision and partly straining his vocal chords.
In case anyone missed this play when it was posted a few weeks ago. Joey in Imogen Stubbs play while at Cambridge University.

I would buy The Amazing Devil merchandise like a flash. No cheap naff cotton t shirts etc but soft lovely sweatshirts and quality mugs and bags and the like with their art work on.
