"well yeah but you could've grown sick of me in the past..." lifting a hand, he glances down at his watch to 'glance' at the time, clearly not registering it, "hour. we've had about ten different conversations since, not all of them the happiest." but that doesn't mean he's so distressed and distraught that they can't turn it around. if anything, he appreciates the honesty first and foremost, so much so that he continues to walk them in the opposite direction of their hotel. "now that we're alone... can i ask you something? how did you feel about me? back then?"

“you got me ice-cream, that’s going to keep me sweet for at least a little while…” noemia muses, pursing her lips at the mention of their less than pleasant conversations. she really doesn’t want to get stuck on it. she’s never been good at dealing with things when they get difficult; hence why it was easier to walk away from the situation in the first place! “i mean — i liked you. was that not at least a little bit obvious?”

"pretty sure they're smart enough to navigate conversations around them so that they aren't stuck with just each other. i wonder who asked who to go out." ari is aware enough to know that both of the girls were being too nosey for their own good but if they're going to expose themselves on find my then surely they know of the consequences that come with! "oh right, yes, our many vacation homes. you're supposed to have multiple fantasies, not just one! that's why they're fantasies - the whole point is that we've not bought them yet."

“did you just call caelum smart?” that’s enough to have bella looking at her girlfriend like she’s just sprouted an additional head. granted, caelum clearly isn’t stupid since he’s passing college however it’s not like ari to dish out compliments. even unintentional ones. “i’m supposed to have multiple?! well, this just means i’ve got so much more to think about! besides, they can’t all be my ideas. i’ll let you pick one. since i’m so nice.”

"no." it does beg a good question though, one that has him pausing in his tracks to look back at her with arm still extended out and noemia in tow. "are you done with me yet?" there's no point in continuing the night if she doesn't find it's worth doing so, and even though he was the one to bring up all of the sad things over the last few months, there's not really a better way to move forward than to push right past it... right?

"hm? i'm the one that asked you to hang out, 'course not." however given that she's the one who feels as if she's made the situation awkward, noemia couldn't help but ask. perhaps this is a reminder that she ought to just keep her mouth shut when it comes to anything that might suggest to caelum that she doesn't want to be around him.

"did we know they were going to have conversations one-on-one this weekend...?" because she sure as hell didn't. this entire thing had been a crapshoot from the beginning and after several months of not engaging with anyone directly, ari can't imagine caelum being prepped at all for this sort of thing. "oh really??" her attention is now latched onto something else entirely, a happy looking future with the girl laying beneath her. "tell me more."

“sure we did! it’s not like we’re all going to be together and they’re not going to talk.” granted, they could’ve very well kept it in a group setting but where would the honest conversation be in that? though, she supposes depending how awkward it is maybe that would be preferable. couldn’t be that awkward if they were alone now, though! “i can’t tell you more, we haven’t bought it yet! besides, we’ll have several. obviously. one for all the houses.”

"mine was shit actually," he manages with a straight face, looking over at her with such aloofness as if he hadn't just scarfed down an entire ice cream cone. though he's entirely capable of keeping that face on for the remainder of the night, for her sake he curls his lips upwards into the tiniest hint of a smile. "considering i finished mine before you finished yours, i can say with certainty it was good. come on -" a hand reaches down to grab hers, pulling her further away from campus and only pausing briefly to toss the remains in a nearby bin. "it's a nice night out. let's not waste it."

“i don’t know, it’s ice-cream! just because it was edible that doesn’t make it good…” what would be the alternative? standing with it until it dripped down his hand? “not done with me yet?” even if she had reached out to caelum to hang out, it’s not like noemia really expected him to entertain her all even. also, given the vaguely sour turn things had taken she definitely wouldn’t expect him to want to hang around.

"hmm, if only find my could give you insight on those sorts of things. too powerful at that point but i could see that being useful if someone's in a dire situation..." doubtful that's what noemia has gotten herself into tonight though if she really wanted to, their phone numbers are just a mere text away. "do you really think i want to share you right now?" this time her scrambling has her so she's no longer perpendicular to her girlfriend but laying right on top of her like two pieces of bread stacked on top of one another, propped up by extended arms and sheer willpower. "how dare bring a third into our marital bed!"

“we should’ve bugged him… in anticipation of the two of them having a conversation this weekend.” granted, bella knows neither she or ari really have those sort of skills or interests. and perhaps there is such a thing as being too involved in their friend’s lives. “i think you do, actually! you love to bring it up so much. also — no. our martial bed will be much nicer than this.”

"why? i don't need your whole bloodline..." a pause, then her voice trails off, "i think." molly doesn't really know what she's doing here. following some ritual she found in the deep, dark depths of the internet isn't guaranteed to work. "i mean i'm going to kill you, so my guess is probably... though, i do hear death is supposed to be peaceful. are you sure you want the warning? won't anticipation make it worse?"

"right, yup." caelum doesn't particularly want to know the ins and outs of that either but now that he feels like he's just been doused with freezing cold water, words are at a loss and it's starting to feel like this was a bad decision overall. he should've said no to hanging out, should've nudged her in someone else's direction, but his hopeful side won out and now he knows never to let it again. "was your ice cream at least any good? or did the reviews lie and i actually picked a really shitty spot?"

"no, mine was good. wasn't yours?" surely his belief in how good the recommendation was isn't only based on her opinion, he's got to have enjoyed himself too. not that noemia is very sure that caelum looks like he's enjoying himself now. not that it's her fault, he's the one who brought everything up!

"it didn't even work," no matter what order things were given, "so i guess that means you don't want me to love you anymore. woe is me," and yes, it's about as dramatic a sone could possibly imagine, her head lolling from side to side and giving out the biggest huff every time the apex of her head reaches either end of the spectrum. "what?! okay, now i'm officially hurt. the fact that you've prefer to hang out with caelum than your own girlfriend. i knew you two had something going on together now that noemia rejected him."

"what didn't even work?!" at this point, bella can't even be sure what ari is whining about. sometimes these things are better off not questioned, when she thinks about it. "no, no. i just know he's the only one that will come and save me. though, he might see it as a threesome invitation. it's probably a good thing i doubt very much will pull him away from their secret little hang out. unless it's going poorly..."

the question, as perfectly sound as it was, stings a bit more than expected. right, she wasn't with either one of them as much as he wished she would be with him. their dates hadn't actually been proper dates - just two people hanging out and seeing if it goes anywhere. despite the kisses and playful text messages, all the guys ever were to noemia were trial periods, just a little bit more than friends (if that). noemia knows it's perhaps a bit of a stark way of putting things but if there's anyone that she doesn't want to discuss her apparent inability to get into a meaningful relationship, caelum is definitely near the top of the list. "it doesn't matter now," she eventually mutters, shrugging her shoulders. it's definitely not something that they need to delve any further into.

"you're the one who can't make up her freaking mind! do you want to actually enjoy the upgrades that you paid for or do you want to go out??" they were never going to actually decide on something, are they? or, if they do, it'll be well past the time anything is open so they'll have to just stay in anyway. "i'm going to just continue laying here like a useless dud until you pick. don't underestimate my ability to morph into a rock."

"i've already told you that i'm fine staying in but then you started all the not loving me nonsense," bella huffs, even if she knows she's purposefully mixing up the order of events. if she has any luck then ari won't notice. "i'll use siri to call caelum to come save me!" it's a weak effort, especially when she has no doubt it'll be impossible to pull him from his hangout with noemia.

"are you... sure? because it didn't take that long for you to, you know." a vague gesture is made with his hands, though there's really no malice in his tone either. a mere observation having watched everything unfold from the inside and then the outside once she'd called the whole thing off. "probably wasn't a serious thing anyways then, if you weren't trying to rush things. i can that sort of thing being a good distraction, even, if you were open to it."
