Eternal gratitude 💗 huge thank you to everyone who has bought my art and has supported me so far. This is just the beginning & I’m so excited for everything else that is to come 🥰🌟
Hey. I was wondering - do you do much visual research before beginning to paint or start a new project? Do you have any particular artist references that you like and return to? I imagine you know about her, but I thought you might like the work of Yayoi Kusama. Also, I guess there's always going to be a whole lot of ambiguity around the idea of 'fine art' vs 'pop art', craft, visual culture etc. Why have you chosen the 'fine art' label, and what does it mean to you? I'm interested to know :)
omg thank you for your message!! i really like these questions
yes, i definitely do visual research before i begin a new piece! i usually have an idea of what i want to draw/execute beforehand, then start looking up reference images. depending on the idea, i either look up reference images or draw from things i have in front of me (usually plants or still life). i definitely prefer references of still life since you can see more dimensions and angles :D
for this piece, i looked up like 20 different images of persimmons drying at different stages and made sure they also were tied by a rope so i could figure out how to draw it
for this piece, i drew the leaves of my favorite plants from around my neighborhood & in my home
i have heard of yayoi kusama and i love her work! here are my favorite artists!
van gogh (my all time favorite artist. favorite pieces 1 2 3), monet, yayoi kusama, hokusai, salvador dali, frida kahlo, aaron kai, alyssa silos, kehinde wiley, sincerely art
i chose to label my art as fine art because i feel like the definition of fine art is very inclusive and allows me to categorize my art while having full artistic freedom to draw in different styles :)

Hi Sunny!!! I'm not sure if you're still giving running advice, but i thought I'd give it a try. So I'm a high school runner looking to break 20 in the 5k next year, although it would require taking off about 1 and 1/2 minutes from my current pr (a lot, ik). Do you have any tips for workouts/general training that could help me get to this goal? (Ps glad to see you back on Tumblr!)
hi there! breaking 20 is a great goal and i think you can totally do it!! here is a post i made on how to run faster. my favorite speed workouts as a mid-distance runner are 3-5 mile tempo runs and fartleks. im not a huge fan of shorter sprints, but they do come in handy when you’re in the last 800m of the race and really need to pick it up. i would also ask your coach if you have one for some workouts as well since they may know your running habits better. good skills!
i got such a spark of joy seeing your post on my dashboard today! It reminded me of when i used to follow you in my college days 6-7 years ago lol! Time sure does fly!
Thanks luv!! It’s great to be back
