so i think for now , i’m putting my rw//by muses on hiatus. i want to write them , but i think they’re a big part as to why my writing motivation has been so low lately and it’s not a fun feeling at all. :( maybe they’ll come back and i’ll feel better about them in the future ? but for now i’ll be over on my ichigo and a few other test muses.

come back safe , is what they’ve always sworn to each other before these big missions ripping one half away from the other. it’s always been difficult to part despite the many hours ( even days ) spent basking in shared lights beforehand , &. perhaps that’s what makes it so hard to leave in the first place. yang always wonders if ren worries too much , as if they don’t trust their phoenix to come out unscathed , or that she’ll be too risky in combat state in last ditch efforts to complete her task at hand. wouldn’t be the first time sunny dragon came home with a bruise or two ( or three , four even ) , but nothing threatening to extinguish her golden light. i can’t die , i have a handsome smile waiting for me. yang’s kept her promise more than ever this time : finishing a grimm hunt in the mountains of solitas with naught but small scratch ‘pon golden cheek as a trophy for her heroic efforts. now if only this airship ride went as fast as the assignment went. yang kicks her feet where she sits , shoulder pressed to the window , scathing eyes peering out at scenery below whilst prosthetic fiddles &. with the bandaid adorning visage. she’s anxious , rightfully so. she wants to be home , wants to see ren in all of their breath taking glory that only comes with most grand of storms &. sweet spring rain once more after being taken so far away. ah . . . how lovesick. how unapologetically in love she is. &. to think a time where both thought such feelings were but a fairytale existed somewhere in the not so distant past. xiao long feels her heart hammering away in chest when they enter mistral. each second met with only a giddy , giddy grin &. child - like fluttering of lashes the more she thinks about finally being able to hold them again , play with their hair , breathe in their sce — ‘ now landing at argus terminal , please stay seated. ‘ yang’s one of the first people off , truthfully. after . . . rushing to the front of course. she’s got places to be , someone to see , could you blame her ? plus paying that damned fee to free her bike from that dark vehicle hanger. phoenix rushes through the building , out the doors , nearing the steps where something so perfectly unexpected meets her &. suddenly , despite being so far from kuroyuri , she is home. indigo hue ignite , yang chirps beloved’s name &. brings forth warmth to a sunflower in desperate need of her light , smoothing back ebon tresses so she may pepper kiss after adoring kiss to ren’s face. ❝ you’re a sight for sore eyes. ❞ she coos , a sweetness rivaling molten honey is dripping from the tip of her tongue rather than ire - brought embers. what a sight they must be ! embracing each other like two lovestruck kids , displaying their undying adorations as though they’re bragging about their love to the whole kingdom of mistral. they definitely are. yang sighs &. finds herself nuzzling smiling lips into the crook of ren’s neck. ❝ i missed you so much. ❞ i’m home , i’m home.

It’s really a little disheartening to see people saying Yang’s to blame for Ironwood turning on them in volume 7 because she stopped following Ruby’s orders and did her own thing so she’s not allowed to question Ruby’s leadership now. Like, Ironwood used Blake and Yang telling Robyn about Amity to paint them as untrustworthy, but 1) the only reason Robyn was willing to work with Ironwood was because of what Blake and Yang told her and that was important to turning the tides in their favor before Cinder came in and played mind games with him, and 2) you’re absolutely kidding yourself if you think Ironwood wouldn’t have targeted Ruby lying to him as the reason they couldn’t be trusted if they’d managed to reach that exact same situation without Blake and Yang telling Robyn.

It just feels like ignoring a character arc that’s being set up to be like “Yang should just be quiet and listen to Ruby.”

Ruby and Yang’s relationship has always been very sweet, but since the former state of their relationship was mostly just “Yang is very proud of Ruby and supports her, Ruby looks up to Yang,“ if they just leave their relationship in that status quo forever, there isn’t much that would be interesting to explore with it. People always blame Bumbleby for “Ruby and Yang don’t feel like sisters anymore” but it’s just that Blake and Yang had an interesting narrative that was being explored and that’s why their relationship got so much focus for a while. Ruby and Yang’s relationship hasn’t gotten much focus yet beyond us knowing they really love each other because there’s never been a narrative that focuses on it.

And now we’re finally getting a narrative where it’s apparent that they’ve both grown and changed as individuals so their relationship has to change as a result of that and that’s so interesting but some people just want Yang to fall in line and go back to the status quo and it’s just like. Y’all. Why?

#v8 spoilers /#HELLOOOOO #THEY ARE SISTERS THEIR RELATIONSHIP ISN’T ALWAYS GOING TO BE PERFECT #like .... take yang’s headspace into consideration ?#she has ptsd. i’m sure a lot of what’s happening in atlas is bringing back fall of beacon memories ?#and obviously yang has grown A LOT since then. she’s had time to mature and grow just like everyone else #SHE’S ASKING QUESTIONS INSTEAD OF BLINDLY FOLLOWING #ruby may be a good leader but she is NOT perfect / someone can only function under high stress for so long

i already voiced my opinion about this on twitter , but if i see ANY of ya’ll coming for yang i will crawl through your screens like the grudge.
