sierra burgess is a loser is honestly one of the most fucked up movies like what am i supposed to support her??? she literally catfished this dude and fucking KISSED HIM while he thought she was someone else, the dude shes catfishing kisses the GIRL HE THINKS HES DATING and sierra responds by POSTING A INAPPROPRIATE PIC of the girl and revealing one of her secrets??? what the fuck???
She catfished a dude (which is a shitty thing to do), ignored her best friend who constantly called out her bullshit (probably bc she didnt wanna own up), and fuckin betrayed the girl who she KNEW had a fucked up family that she couldn’t trust. She was EXTREMELY selfish around a lot of very caring people.
“you should look in a mirror, because your looks are the least ugly thing about you.” is the truest fucking line of the story.
and she doesn’t even get better in the end!! she doesn’t right her fucking wrongs. she just writes a song about how hard it is to be different and sends it to people and says “sorry i suck” (which is a SHITTY and manipulative way to apologize folks) and EVERYONE FORGIVES HER!!! literally Jamie just goes to homecoming with a girl who MANIPULATED him into being with her. Yeah she can quote plato, yeah she’s cute, but man, you can do so much fucking better.
overall; this movie is about one selfish girl and a group of caring individuals who she manipulates for her own gain, and we’re supposed to clap when she gets away with it.
(and this doesn’t AT ALL reflect on the actors. All actors were phenomonal in this piece, and in pretty much all other shows/movies i’ve seen them in. The writing is the issue, for trying to defend such a horrible girl. jesus fuck)
