Real life - work
Being at the bottom of the corporate chain really does get to your self-esteem a lot-- especially when the core of it was never concrete to begin with.
You’d think that getting yourself a spot at a much coveted position is testament to your hard work, effort, and most importantly your talents; but it is in fact the start of a new chapter; a blank page; the first page, after your perfectly manicured pages are callously ripped off.

Cherish before it’s gone.

But this is only human nature and I’ve got a pretty fked up one.

There were many times in my life when I’ve been disappointed– I’d think of going on the path of dreams, but find myself being brutally flung on to another path I never thought I’d end up.
This happened so much that I gave up being unrealistic; I stopped having expectations that will hurt me, I stopped listening to everything and everyone else but my heart.
I started seeing all these setbacks as surprises and eventually lessons learnt. These events were messages from a greater being out there; messages that tell me “You’re not ready for this.”
Looking back, I cannot help but agree. My life would have been a mess and much more of a struggle if I got what I wanted from the beginning. I might have become a horrible, horrible person.
I guess what I’m trying to say is, I cannot be more proud of who I’ve become so far. And I hope that for once, I’m ready to fulfil a dream.
I am writing this while having a face mask on.
Things are sort of picking up, with more upcoming plans set in stone, better integration into the American education system, and more importantly... ... (I’m not gonna say lest I curse it)
Workload is still heavy-- whoever said that it’s a slack culture here is so wrong! I find myself having work to do everyday and we’re starting to have midterms already.
Having to write cvs and resumés for internship isn’t helping either. I really hope me cutting it all down to one page each is all worth it. Oh please, for the sake of my ageing parents, let me walk an attainably ambitious path.
Kodaline was freaking awesome by the way. (I’m referring to the concert I went to during the weekend.) Love will set you free will always be my all time fav now, simply because they’ve established that for me last saturday.
Okay, time to wash the mask off.
