Unexpected Events
Edmund Pevensie x reader
Word count: 1722
Summary: Tired of the same shtick of trying to find a husband, (Y/N) takes a little stroll in the palace to escape go to the ballroom. But what happens when she finds an unfinished chess set?
a/n: As much as I would love to think about how progressive Narnia is, we have to remember it's set in the olden days. So, this is kind of my little exploration about this topic.
As much you love parties, it gets a tad bit tedious introducing yourself to new friends, old foes, and potential suitors. Truly, it exhausts you doing the same thing time and time again.
You were in Cair Paravel for lion’s sake! A place of tranquility and adventure.
“And I said to the mistress, ‘oh you missed a step!’”
You just nodded and laughed along to the courtier in front of you. Although not quite humorous, you keep up with appearances as it is the best thing to do for a lady such as yourself.
You gently touched the courtier’s arm, “Well, that was quite hilarious! That makes me want to wee in the lady’s room!” You jest.
“Would you like me to accompany you—”
“No, that’s alright, I must be going!”
You hurriedly escaped the ballroom and into the large hallway. The castle was truly alluring, open spaces, large pillars, and the paintings, oh, you do love a good painting. Despite the fact that Narnia is known for its enchantment, you still can’t quite believe it. It’s… surreal.
You stepped outside the balcony and breathed in the cool night air. It is such a shame, people don’t get to see this kind of beauty.
You stepped back, and went back to the path you came. You ready yourself for another round of niceties and pleasantries, until you see a door ajar. Take no notice of it, you tell yourself. But curiosity got the better of you. Is it a secretly hideous room? Are there secrets behind them? Maybe you are no better than those gossiping nobles.
You took a sneak peak; however, you could barely see anything as it was too dim. You could only make out a small light—a candle?—in the room. You went over to the light and picked up the candle holder and looked around.
It was a library. A large one at that.
You inspected the candle, it seems that this person has been here since the beginning of the ball. You shook your head—talk about manners, you thought. Well, if this person gets to be locked in this room? Why shouldn’t you?
You huffed. Seriously, stability through a man? All they have to do is pick childlike women in order for them to be considered a bride.
You looked down at the table that you just got the candle from.
A chess set?
It seems that the game has already started as most of the pieces were off to the side. Quite unjustly to not finish a game, might you add. The bishop is in front of the King, while there is a rook behind and on the right of the bishop, and a Queen set diagonally from the King. But why would the bishop be in front of the King? Wouldn't it make more sense if the bishop was moved and let the rook take its place for a check? You whispered under your breath:
“What kind of barbaric buffoon places the bishop here?”
You grab the bishop and move it diagonally—
“And why are you, My Lady, touching my chess piece and not prancing around the ballroom?”
You froze. Did you hear that right? King Edmund, the Just? In front of the door? Did he hear you? How will you escape now?
You place the bishop back from its original spot and straighten your back.
You breathed, then curtsied, “Your Majesty! I apologize, I got lost on my way to the lady’s room! And I was just so amazed! By your…toys?”
Play ignorant or else other consequences might occur.
King Edmund raised his eyebrows, “Oh? You seem to know what those ‘toys’ do.” He pointed at the chess set.
You got up from the curtsy, “Oh, I was just inspecting it, Your Majesty! I have never seen something like this before! Now, will you excuse me, as you need the study.”
You picked up your dress and walked to the door, you almost passed the King until,
“‘What kind of barbaric buffoon places the bishop here?’ Are you saying there’s another way to win?”
You halted…is he challenging you?
You blinked up at him and tilted your head, “What ever do you mean, Your Majesty?”
He walked up to the chess set, “Well, if you insist on calling me a ‘barbaric buffoon’, I suggest you prove me wrong first.” He grabs the bishop and holds it out to you.
You look away from the King. Is he not having a game with the High King? And is it proper to showcase this? No woman should boast or gloat, as they say. A woman should be seen and not heard.
You took one step back, “Your Majesty, I don’t think—”
“If you don’t have a strategy to win, I guess maybe you are the barbaric buffoon.” He put the bishop back in its place.
That irked you, of course you know how to win, and of course you know how to call someone a complete and utter prick—
You opened your mouth, “I don’t think it’s necessary to put the bishop in front of the King to be used as sacrifice, as you already have a Queen and rook.”
“Then where do you suggest I put it?”
You walked to the table and grabbed the bishop, “You set this aside, grab your Queen and place it behind the King and let the rook handle the rest.”
He put a hand under his chin and nodded, “A good plan, but that will take time to make it checkmate.”
You tilted your head and he continued, “The bishop is a diversion,” He grabbed the bishop and placed it in its original spot, and grabbed the King, “The other player, he has to eat the bishop as he has only has a piece left—which is the King. He thinks it's an advantage for him,” He knocked down the bishop and moved it to the side. He grabbed the rook, “Then the rook has to take advantage from the sidelines,” he grabbed the Queen, “and the queen has to take charge in front.” The King has nowhere else to go, “There, checkmate.”
You have to admit, he’s called the Just for a reason.
“I still think it’s unnecessary.”
He laughed, “If you want to do the long game, you use your plan, but in a game like this? It’s best to make these kinds of sacrifices.”
You nodded and looked at the King, “Thank you, Your Majesty.”
As you turned to leave, he called out, “Will you not be joining me for the next round?”
You shook your head, “Are you not playing with the High King?”
He chuckled and started to set up the game, “Peter? He’s a moron at this game.”
You smiled and sat down across from King Edmund, “Why is that, Your Majesty? Because he doesn’t have the Just title?”
“There’s a reason why he didn’t get that title.”
You laughed, “So I take it he’s not that good?”
He moved the white pawn, “Whenever he’s about to lose—which is all the time—he’d always make this diplomatic speech that ‘winning isn’t everything’ but then we always fight after I win.”
You tried hiding your smile and moved your horse, “You never made him win, at least once?”
He scoffed humorously and grabbed a bishop, “He’s already High King, he won in life.”
You also grabbed a bishop, “And how about your sisters? Queen Susan and Queen Lucy.”
“If Lu could, she would ban chess. She hates playing chess.”
He grabbed his rook as you spoke, “Hates playing chess or hates playing with you?”
He placed his rook down to where he wanted it to be, “Hm. Probably both.”
You grabbed a pawn, as he continued, “I love playing with Su. She’s the only one who really knows how to play,” you got his pawn, “though she prefers planning balls than playing chess.”
That made you pause, “Then who were you playing with, My Lord?”
He grabbed your Queen, “Hm? Oh, myself. Usually, the only person who knows what you do, anyway, is yourself.” He caught your rook.
“I’d prefer it that way, too.”
King Edmund looks up at you and smiles. One of the brightest smiles you’ve ever seen him have as he is known to have an obscure disposition.
“And what about you, My Lady? You don’t prefer balls?”
You knock down his rook, “Oh, I prefer balls very much.” He takes your pawn, “Though…I do not agree why I should be invited into one.”
He tapped his finger against the table, “Ah, to find a husband?”
You hummed. You caught his Queen and his eyes widened a bit. You said, “I enjoy balls, I don’t enjoy finding a husband.”
“At times, Narnia still lives in the past.”
“Agreed, Your Majesty.”
“Edmund.”
“Hm?”
“You can just call me ‘Edmund’.”
“Ah, alright Edmund.”
He laughed and took your rook again, “I’m surprised that you’re not surprised.”
“To call you ‘Edmund’? Why, I could just tell from a mile away you’re itching to say that.”
He shook his head and looked down at the chess set, “I’m not as mysterious as I thought.”
“Don’t be—You won.”
“I haven’t even made a checkmate yet!”
You fixed up the chess set, “Oh get over yourself, you know you were gonna win.”
He grabbed your wrists and inspected the chess set, “You could still win, you know?”
“With a small chance. And I had a fun time getting to play with you, now I know your strategies for next time.”
King Edmund lets go of your wrist and his lips quirked up just a bit. He then helps you fix the chess set. After the last pieces were in their right position, you stood up, ready to bid farewell to Edmund, but he reached his arm out to you.
You titled your head, “Don’t the guests want to talk to you?”
He exhaled and smirked, “You don’t want courtiers to serenade you to be their wife and I don’t want to talk to them. A win-win if you ask me.”
You rolled your eyes, but took his offer. He led you out the door and through the entrance of the ballroom. All eyes are on you two now. You looked up at him, but you find him already looking at you,
“Cunning. But will your plan last?”

Winter's Son
Title: "Winter's Son": The Chronicles of Narnia fanfiction Pairing: Peter Pevensie x Reader Male Genre: Fantasy | Romance | Hurt/Comfort | Magic | Slow Burn |Found Family Warnings: Emotional vulnerability, heat sickness / fainting (non-graphic). Summary: A winter-touched boy living under Aslan’s protection meets Peter Pevensie, whose warmth draws him in despite his fragile nature. As Peter becomes part of his world, their connection deepens in ways neither expected.
Warmth. That was the one enemy you had never been able to fight. Most creatures in Narnia loved the sun, the soft grass, the summer wind carrying the smell of green fields. But your body reacted differently. Heat made your breath thin, your skin sore, your head heavy until you could barely stand. Even spring sunlight left you dizzy. You had been born with winter in your blood. White hair. Icy blue-white eyes. A pulse that beat slower in warmth and steadier in cold. But your heart—everyone said your heart was warmer than anything else in Narnia. Aslan said it first. And because he believed it, you believed it too.
----
You lived on the warm side of Narnia, by choice. Because that was where Aslan remained most of the time. And you refused to be away from him. He saw your loyalty, your stubborn devotion, and your fragile body struggling against the heat of the forest. So Aslan created something only for you: A small circle of land, no wider than a meadow, where winter never left. Snow fell gently without storm. Ice shimmered in delicate lace across branches. A cozy cottage—warm in spirit but cool in temperature—rested at the center. It was perfect. It let you stay close to Aslan without burning yourself alive. The Lion visited you often. He spoke to you in that deep, ancient rumble that vibrated through your bones. He would lower his massive head into your lap and let you braid little strings of snow-silk flowers into his mane. You would talk for hours. He treated you as a son. And you loved him like a father.
----
The day the Pevensies arrived, you knew before Aslan even said a word. You heard the footsteps. The sound of warm-blooded beings crunching through snow where they shouldn’t. You stepped outside your cottage and the sun hit your skin—the tiny bit of warm air at the edge of your boundary. It made your head spin instantly. You gripped the doorframe, breath trembling. Aslan padded toward you from the treeline, golden and bright. “Easy, my child,” he murmured. “Do not push beyond what your body allows.” “I’m fine,” you said—lying, as always. Behind him stood four humans. Smallest to tallest. You recognized nothing about them except the way Aslan’s gaze softened when it swept across their faces. “These are the Sons of Adam and Daughters of Eve,” Aslan said. “They will help heal this land.” You bowed in respect, though the movement made your vision blur. And then your eyes landed on him. Peter. Golden-brown hair, blue eyes, posture rigid with courage he clearly hadn’t always had. His gaze caught on you instantly—and did not move. Your white hair flickered in the cold wind. Snowflakes clung to your lashes. Your skin glowed faintly blue in the frostlight. Peter stared like you were something carved from starlight. You stared back like he was something carved from warmth you’d never dared to touch. Aslan noticed. Of course he noticed. He huffed a very small, very knowing sound.
----
Aslan guided them toward you. “This is Y/N,” he said. “He dwells here under my protection.” Peter stepped closer—too close. Past the line where your sanctuary ended. The warm air from his side hit you like a wall. Your breath caught. A wave of heat rolled into your chest. Your knees buckled. “Y/N!” Peter lunged forward, catching you before you hit the snow. His arms were warm. Too warm. Fire raced under your skin and you hissed in pain, curling involuntarily against him. “Sorry—!” Peter panicked and immediately tried to lower you, but you grabbed the front of his coat with shaking hands. “It’s… okay,” you forced out through clenched teeth. “Just… too hot.” Peter flushed scarlet, guilt flooding his features. “I didn’t know—I’m so sorry—” Aslan stepped beside you both, huge and calm. “He is not harmed,” Aslan said gently. “Only overwhelmed. Y/N’s body is not made for warmth. Even the heat of another person can distress him.” Peter looked devastated by that knowledge. You touched his sleeve—your fingers, cold as ice, brushing his warm arm. “It’s all right,” you whispered. “You didn’t hurt me. Don’t look like that.” His breath hitched. He looked at you like you were something delicate and precious. You realized you were still holding onto him. Neither of you let go.
----
Over the next days, the Pevensies accompanied Aslan as he prepared for the coming war. And Peter… Peter kept finding excuses to visit your cottage. Sometimes he brought questions about Narnia. Sometimes about strategy. Sometimes he brought nothing but his presence. And every time he crossed into your winter sanctuary, he shivered pleasantly, adjusting to the cold. “It’s always so beautiful in here,” he murmured, brushing frost from his coat. “It’s just snow,” you said. “No,” Peter corrected softly. “It’s… you.” You froze—not from your element, but from the way his voice dipped, warm and earnest. He stepped closer. His breath misted between you. “Can I…?” he whispered. You tilted your head. “Can you what?” Peter reached out slowly, giving you every chance to move away. His fingers brushed your white hair, sweeping a strand behind your ear. “You have snow in your hair all the time,” he murmured. “It suits you.” Your cheeks warmed—not from heat, but from him. “You shouldn’t get too close,” you breathed. “I don’t want you cold.” Peter gave a small smile, something soft and almost shy. “I don’t mind a little cold,” he said. “Not if it means being near you.” Your heart stuttered. “You shouldn’t say things like that,” you whispered. “Why not?” he asked, stepping closer still, blue eyes fixed on yours. “Because…” Your throat tightened. “Because I’ll start believing them.” Peter’s breath faltered. “I think I want you to,” he said.
----
One afternoon, Peter convinced you to step outside your sanctuary—just for a moment—to show him a lake he couldn’t find on his own. You tried. Truly. But the moment the warm air hit you, your skin flushed painfully. Your lungs burned. Sweat dampened your forehead. You stumbled, gripping a tree as your vision blurred to white. “Y/N?” Peter’s voice sharpened with fear. “Hey—look at me—look at me—” “I—I can’t—too hot—Peter—” you gasped. He caught you in his arms again, but this time he didn’t panic. He held you gently, firmly, lifting you against his chest. “Hold on,” he murmured. “I’ve got you.” You curled against him helplessly. Your body trembled in fever, but Peter kept whispering, voice low and soothing. “I’m here. You’re going to be all right. Don’t you dare pass out on me.” He carried you all the way back, not caring how the cold bit at him once he crossed into your sanctuary. Aslan met you at the door of your cottage. His golden eyes softened with deep worry. “Peter,” Aslan rumbled, “lay him down.” Peter didn’t hesitate. He placed you gently onto your bed, brushing cold hair from your face. Aslan’s massive head bowed beside you. “You pushed yourself too hard, little one,” the Lion murmured. You blinked up weakly, voice cracked. “I wanted… to help…” Peter swallowed hard. “I’m so sorry. I didn’t realize— I didn’t mean to—” You caught his wrist with trembling fingers. “It’s not your fault,” you whispered, weak but sincere. “I’d follow you anywhere. Maybe I… shouldn’t.” Peter’s face broke—soft, aching, full of emotion. Aslan watched him carefully, then spoke in a low, rumbling tone. “Peter,” Aslan said, “he trusts you. And I believe you may be the one person his heart listens to even more than mine.” Peter’s eyes widened, stunned. Aslan nudged his great head toward you. “Stay with him.” Peter sat beside you instantly. You reached for him blindly, and he took your hand, pressing it to his chest. “Don’t scare me like that again,” he whispered, voice trembling. “I can’t— I can’t lose you.” Your breath caught. “Peter,” you whispered. “Why do you care so much?” His fingers brushed your cheek, cool from the sanctuary’s air. “Because I’ve never…” His voice cracked. He tried again. “I’ve never met anyone like you. And I don’t want to.” Your heart pounded weakly, but you managed a small, soft smile. “You’re warm,” you said. Peter leaned closer, forehead nearly touching yours. “Is that a bad thing?” he whispered. “No,” you whispered back. “Not when it’s you.” His lips brushed yours—gentle, hesitant, full of the warmth you could feel safely. You kissed him back. Slow. Careful. Beautiful. You felt his breath tremble. When the kiss broke, Peter rested his forehead against yours. “You are winter,” he murmured. “And I want to stay in your cold forever if it means I can be the one who warms your heart.” Your eyes stung with emotion. Aslan watched with a soft, knowing smile. “My son,” the Lion rumbled softly, “you have found your warmth at last.” You squeezed Peter’s hand. “No,” you whispered. “My warmth found me.” Peter kissed your forehead gently. “I’m not leaving,” he promised. “Not tonight. Not ever.” And for the first time, warmth didn’t hurt. It healed.

you’re perched on rikis bed, legs folded neatly underneath you, watching as he rummages through his closet. his room is a perfect reflection of him. it’s minimalistic yet cozy, with a few scattered items that scream nishimura riki—a lego set on his desk, a random beanie tossed over a chair, and a collection of hoodies taking up most of his closet space.
he lets out a dramatic sigh, pulling out a dark gray hoodie before turning toward you. “here,” he says, tossing it over your head.
you squeak, wiggling your arms free before slipping it on. it’s oversized, drowning your smaller frame, and smells just like him. it’s a mix of fresh laundry, cologne, and something uniquely Riki.
“you love making me look tiny, don’t you?” you tease, hugging the sleeves around your hands.
riki smirks, walking over and leaning down so his face is level with yours. “yeah,” he admits shamelessly, tilting his head. “it’s cute.”
your cheeks warm, but you roll your eyes playfully. “fake emo boyfriend thinks i’m cute, what a shocker.”
“fake emo boyfriend is crazy,” riki deadpans, nudging your cheek with his nose. “i’m literally so mysterious.”
you giggle, poking his stomach. “baby, you laugh at your own jokes and trip over air. you are not mysterious. if anything, you’re just a cutie patootie.”
he groans, dramatically flopping onto the bed beside you. “cutie patootie should be illegal. take it back.”
“nope,” you say, shifting so you’re half on top of him. “you’re a cutie patootie and there’s nothing you can do about it.”
riki exhales through his nose, rolling his eyes, but the way his arms immediately circle around your waist says otherwise. “you’re lucky i love you,” he mutters, his voice low and affectionate.
you nuzzle into his chest, smiling against the fabric of his hoodie. “i know.”
the dorm is already buzzing with energy when you step inside, but the second the door clicks shut behind you, the noise dies down. six pairs of eyes immediately snap toward you.
“riki, you’re joking,” sunoo blurts, eyes wide in disbelief.
“who is this angel and what is she doing with you?” jake teases, crossing his arms with an amused smirk.
“she’s too pretty for you,” jungwon adds bluntly.
your cheeks heat up at the sudden attention, and you instinctively shift closer to riki. he, of course, doesn’t miss a beat and his arm wraps securely around your waist, pulling you flush against his side.
“yeah, yeah, ha ha,” riki deadpans, rolling his eyes. “okay this is y/n, my girlfriend. i know, shocking revelation.”
his members don’t respond immediately. instead, they exchange glances, their expressions a mix of surprise, amusement, and utter disbelief.
“you’re so…” sunghoon trails off, scanning you from head to toe before settling on riki. “girly.”
“and?” riki challenges, raising an eyebrow.
“it’s just—” sunoo gestures vaguely between the two of you. “we all thought you’d end up with someone like…i don’t know, a female version of you?”
“yeah, like, all dark clothes, quiet, super sarcastic, probably into gaming just like you,” heeseung adds, rubbing his chin like he’s solving a mystery.
“but instead, you’re dating—” jungwon gestures to you. “her.”
you blink, “what’s that supposed to mean?” you ask, raising a brow, though your voice remains playful.
“you’re all soft and pretty and you literally look like you stepped out of a pinterest board,” jay says, nodding toward your outfit, a cute, pastel-toned ensemble accessorized with dainty jewelry. “we just didn’t see it coming.”
riki grins, tightening his grip on you. “i like my girlfriend all soft and pretty. she’s my princess.”
your heart flutters at his words, and you instinctively squeeze his hand. “rikiiiii,” you whine playfully, hiding your face in his hoodie.
jungwon lets out a long sigh, shaking his head. “this is actually insane. i never thought i’d see the day riki became whipped.”
“i am not whipped,” riki scoffs, immediately going on the defensive.
“oh, really?” jake smirks, stepping forward. “then prove it.”
“what do you mean, prove it?” riki narrows his eyes.
“let go of her,” jake says simply, nodding toward his arm around your waist. “if you’re not whipped, you can let her go, right?” riki doesn’t move. the room erupts in laughter.
“oh my god,” sunoo gasps between wheezes. “he actually can’t let go.”
“shut up,” riki grumbles, but his grip on you only tightens.
you giggle, tilting your head up to look at him. “you are kinda proving their point, baby.”
riki exhales sharply before dramatically peeling his hand away from your waist, only to immediately grab your fingers instead. “there,” he mutters. “happy?”
“that doesn’t count!” sunghoon laughs. “you’re still holding her!”
“you guys are so annoying,” riki groans, but he’s smiling despite himself.
“okay, okay,” heeseung grins, clapping his hands together. “y/n, since you’re officially part of the group now, we need to ask you some important questions.”
you perk up. “oh? like what?”
“first,” jay starts, leaning forward like he’s about to uncover a huge secret. “who made the first move?”
riki snorts. “me, obviously.”
“are you sure?” sunoo arches a brow. “i feel like she had to force you into realizing your feelings.”
“hey!” riki glares. “i realized them on my own.”
you hum, tilting your head playfully. “i did have to wait a bit for him to catch up.”
the room explodes with laughter again, and riki looks personally offended. “baby,” he whines. “you’re supposed to be on my side!”
you giggle, squeezing his hand. “i am, baby. i’m just also right.” his members coo at the interaction and riki groans, hiding his face in your shoulder.
“okay, next question,” heeseung continues, thoroughly enjoying this. “what’s the cutest thing riki has ever done for you?”
you pause, thinking. “hmmm…he always makes sure i have one of his hoodies when i stay over, and he buys me snacks in my favorite flavors without me even asking.”
“that’s so soft,” sunoo gasps dramatically. “who is this riki, and what did he do with the old one?”
“right?” jake shakes his head. “he used to make fun of us for being romantic, and now he’s out here being all boyfriend coded.”
“okay, that’s enough questions,” riki cuts in, glaring at his members. “we get it. i have the best girlfriend ever.”
you beam up at him, batting your lashes. “awww, you think i’m the best?”
riki sighs, but the way he tucks a strand of hair behind your ear betrays him. “yeah,” he mutters. “you know i do.”
his members all groan in unison.
“this is so unfair,” jungwon complains. “i thought riki was gonna be the last one to act all lovey dovey, but he’s actually the worst one.”
“it’s sickening,” sunghoon nods.
“get used to it,” riki smirks. “she’s not going anywhere.”
you lean into his side, smiling as his fingers intertwine with yours. “nope,” you agree. “i’m not going anywhere.”
his members groan again, but the teasing fades into something softer, something almost approving.
maybe you weren’t who they expected, but watching riki beam at you like you were his entire world?
yeah, they could definitely get used to this.
hours later, after playing games, eating snacks, and listening to rikis members tease him relentlessly about you, he finally tugs you away to his room.
the door shuts softly behind you, enclosing you both in a peaceful quiet that contrasts the lively energy outside. you let out a sigh, stretching your arms above your head before flopping onto his bed.
“they were so nice,” you hum. “i thought i was gonna be nervous, but they made me feel so welcome.”
riki hums, settling beside you. “too welcome,” he mutters, eyes narrowing. “i thought jake was gonna steal you away.”
you giggle, shifting onto your side to face him. “never,” you promise, reaching up to tuck a strand of his hair back then resting your hand on his cheek, softly caressing him. “i’m your girlfriend, remember?”
his gaze softens instantly. “mine,” he echoes, his fingers tracing slow circles on your hip.
you nod, letting your hand now rest against his chest, feeling the steady rhythm of his heartbeat. “yours,” you confirm.
riki exhales deeply, like he’s processing the weight of your words, then leans in, brushing his nose against yours. “can i kiss you?” he murmurs.
your heart stutters. even after all this time, he still asks.
“of course, baby,” you whisper.
riki cups your cheek, his thumb brushing over your skin before he finally presses his lips against yours. the kiss is slow, gentle, like he’s savoring the moment. when he pulls away, his lips linger against yours, reluctant to break the contact completely.
“you make me so soft,” he mutters, half annoyed but mostly in awe.
you giggle, playing with the collar of his hoodie. “you like it.”
riki groans, rolling onto his back and dragging you with him so you’re curled against his chest. “maybe,” he admits, pressing a kiss to your forehead.
you snuggle closer, letting your fingers trace lazy patterns on his chest. “i thought bringing you here would be kinda nerve wracking,” he murmurs. “but having you next to me just makes everything feel…easy.”
your lips curve into a soft smile. “that’s because i’m your safe place, duh.”
riki goes quiet for a moment, then exhales, tightening his hold around you. “yeah,” he whispers. “you really are, my love.”
with one last kiss to your forehead, he tucks you against his chest, holding you close as sleep starts to pull you both under—wrapped up in warmth, in love, in each other.

LEE HEESEUNG
“hey baby,” heeseung’s voice startles you, causing you to almost fall out of your study desk. you whip your head towards the balcony, to see your boyfriend hanging upside down by his spiderwebs.
“what are you doing here?” you hiss, striding towards the balcony. you pull his spider mask down, revealing his charming face which always gave you butterflies. “god forbid a man wants to visit his girl,” he grins lazily, winking at you when he knows this is an ungodly hour to visit you.
his cover could be blown. “my parents are literally in the next room, hee. can you please get out—” “just a kiss,” heeseung pleads, tilting his head with that mischievous smile of his, still dangling upside down like it’s the most casual thing in the world, “just a kiss and i’ll go.”
and you eventually give in, rolling your eyes as you cup his face and lean in for a kiss. heeseung smiles into the kiss, his lips soft and tender against yours, moving in sync as your teeth graze against his top lip. his breath hitches, falling to the threshold of the balcony with a thud.
“are you okay? you’re gonna wake up my parents,” you whimper, looking down at him. but heeseung only chuckles, looking up at you, “sorry, babe. i get nervous around you.”
"Possible" Edmund Pevensie x Reader
(A/N: Here’s an insert reader with another Worst Day idea set during the reign of the Pevensies in Narnia. Reader appears human, but they’re Narnian, so there’s a lot of ancestry of nonhumans. Warnings: Minor angst and fluff. Word Count: 1,665 words)
Days shone bright over the land of Narnia. An age of warmth during the rule of the kings and queens. Such a safe and happy time. Narnia prospered as many imagined it would after the White Witch was defeated. Years of peace made bad memories of the endless winter seem so far away. Even if Queen Lucy was often known to tell Tales of the Wardrobe and their first coming to Narnia. You knew of no one who did not fancy hearing it repeated. As a narnian, you were proud to work within Cair Paravel often serving meals, making sure the Kings and Queens had what they needed. What you were not proud of was a chain of incidents so absurd. You had ran your hand into a doorway early in the morning. A pain appeared so gradually and intensely that you had not uttered a sound. Later when you were in the kitchen, ready to place breakfast on the trays, you had spilled a good portion of water and freshly squeezed fruit juice onto the floor. You and a Kindly bird cleaned the mess the best one could with a cleaning cloth. The delay was hardly noticed by the Kings and Queens who had been engaged in what news they had received from their friends in Archenland. You were thankful for the distraction. However, you nearly tripped on your way to the table when King Edmund peered over to you with his intelligently warm gaze and smile.

—telling husband!jay to "get out" while you change.
✩ ₊˚
you saw a trend on tiktok of people telling their husbands to get out while they change just to see their reaction, and you thought it'd be hilarious to try it on jay.
"jay, baby, can you come here?" you yell from the bathroom, jay immediately making his way towards you.
"yeah?" he says appearing behind you.
"i don't know what to wear today and i wanted your opinion.." you say putting on your best acting skills.
"well what're your options, baby?" he says, stepping closer to the dresses in your hand.
"i was thinking between these two.."
jay puts his hand on his chin, clearly thinking hard about his decision, not paying any mind to you trying to stiffle a laugh.
"hmm .. i think you should go with the black one. you know I really love black on you. plus we can match." he says, wrapping his arm around your waist, pressing a kiss to your temple.
"okay, thank you! can you step out while I get changed?"
jay tries to hide it, but you don't fail to notice how his eyebrows furrow for a few seconds.
"yeah, of course baby, but ... why? everything okay?" he says, backing up to look at you.
"i'm fine!" you respond, playing it cool. "i just want to change real quick. just step out please?"
jay doesn't move, in fact he leans against the doorframe, eyes narrowing.
"wait, baby... we've been married for three years." he says slowly.
you nod, gesturing past the door with a teasing smile. "and you can spend the next three in the hallway if you don't scoot!"
he scoffs, stepping closer. "and also we, yes we, just had sex like ... this morning. in this exact room."
"Jay!" you giggle, trying not to break character.
"why are you acting brand new? like all this ain't mine, love." he teases, hands flying to your waist. your lips twitch as you try not to look at him.
"i mean you told me it was mine, remember? several times. loudly."
"Jay, please—" you finally break into laughter, hitting him with your shirt.
he pretends to be hurt, before playfully smacking your ass.
"that's what i thought!"

“It’s not fair.”
Y/N furrowed her eyebrows in confusion as her best friend plopped himself flat on her bed.
Her parents had let her stay with the Pevensie’s at a professor’s house for shelter — who would have thought they would end up being leaders of a kingdom.
She had been crowned Queen Y/N the Eloquent. Her ever so good skills in speaking benefited their home like no other. They had fixed so many conflicts without drawing out blood with her help, the siblings wondered what they would have done if Edmund didn’t accidentally smack her in the head back when they were 4.

a/n: hiii. i've been aching to write for him for a while now, and due to the lack of content for him i decided to take it into my own hands. it might be a little rusty at parts, but i like the idea of it, so i hope ypu enjoy. as always, let me know what you think. requests are open <3
summary: being the king's and queen's advisor came with many surprises
Your arrival to Narnia had been fortunate for the King’s and Queen’s reign. You had arrived one fateful day, after having fallen asleep on your backdoor patio while reading. When you eventually woke up, you were not in your patio anymore, instead a tall figure mounted on a horse stood a few feet away from you. He was wearing a silver shimmering crown that glowed as the sun hit it. You immediately shuffled back as you tried to get as far away as possible from the man in front of you.
Hello, how are you? I I finished my Peter phase and just started my Edmund phase after I rewatched the first movie yesterday🫠, so can I make my first request for him? So this is based on that famous quote "Edmund was a graver and quieter man than peter, and was great in judgment and council" so slighty cold/serious/scary king edmund (that by the end of the day is just edmund bringing his old-edmund temper when the matters is to protect his girl). So in this reader and edmund go visit another castle and while edmund resolves council matters with other people, reader just tries to explore Castle garden. But then it starts to rain real bad and reader ends up locked outside because they closed the castle gates and forgot she was there. So after literally catching a cold and being found soaking outside after an hour, edmund carries her back to the castle in his arms and starts to heavily scold (even threaten) the guards that weren't on their places and didn't hear his wife, all of this while he's carrying sick reader like his little treasure.
Thanks for request! Sorry it took so long. I hope you enjoy it 💗
I will always find you [Edmund Pevensie]

a lil somethin for my neteyam girlies <3
Neteyam sat cross-legged on the ground, his long, slender tail curled around your thigh, as you knelt behind him, smoothly braiding his luscious black hair. As you worked, he could feel the gentle pressure of your legs against his back, and the soft strokes of your fingers on his scalp.
Neteyam closed his eyes, savoring the sensation of your touch, and the peacefulness of the moment. His life had been filled with conflict and struggle, but when he was with you, all of that faded away.
As you finished the last braid, you leaned forward and placed a soft kiss on the back of Neteyam's neck. He turned to face you, a smirk on his face, and reached behind his back to show you a small package wrapped in leaves.
"I have something for you," he said, his voice low and teasing.
Your eyes widened in surprise as you took the package from him and carefully unwrapped it. Inside was a beautiful necklace, made of woven strands of bright blue and green leaves, and decorated with delicate beads and feathers.
Neteyam watched eagerly as your face lit up with delight. You jumped up and wrapped your arms around him, kissing him all over his face and neck.
"Thank you, thank you, thank you!" you exclaimed, your eyes shining with joy. "It's beautiful!"
Neteyam smiled, feeling a warm glow of happiness spread through his chest. He had never been particularly skilled at crafting, but he had spent hours working on this necklace, wanting to give you something special and unique.
As you continued to shower him with kisses, Neteyam realized that this was one of the moments he would cherish forever.

Oh no, he isn't.
Susan eyes her brother, his fingers tapping rhythmically against the table. She may not have bothered to learn enough Morse Code to be conversational, but she recognizes it just fine. In the middle of a meeting. He is having a full-fledged conversation in the middle of a meeting in a way that looks just as rude as talking while the other is speaking.
"What are you doing?" She whispers, and Edmund glances up, too much of a spark in his expression.
"Multi-tasking."
*
Peter is trying his best to keep the Narnians occupied as his brother flirts with you down the table.
Graciously, no one seems to notice. The tradesmen are too focused on their concerns, rightfully so, to notice or dawdle on King Edmund's strange behavior.
Peter stands, sun glowing on his blond hair, and makes his way down to share space with the tradesmen.
"I think it would be fitting to have this discussion in the place where it happens, if that is alright?"
They are happy to oblige their king.
Everyone stands as Peter exits the chamber, and you slip over to Edmund, who leans down to speak quietly in your ear.
"I know what you're going to say, and may I remind you that you responded."

### . STARRING ⌢ n.rk ⋆ suggestive? + 1.3k // unedited + roommate trope + blood drinking ˖ ✧
🗨️ .. ⌞ XOXO ⌝ vamki enthusiasts hi + alt vrs hidden somewhere in txt + [m.list]
you've had your suspicions for a while now. the irregular, conspicuous late nights. the stains that eerily resemble dried blood and something else you can’t quite name but feel in your bones. an instinct that something was odd.
but bless your heart, you just can't bring yourself to actually accuse your roommate, nishimura riki, of anything.
besides, what would you have even said, anyway?
"hey, roommate! what a wonderful day it is today, huh? the weather sure is … happening! by the way, if i may ask, is there any chance that you might be a bloodthirsty, monstrous creature? just curious haha!"
yeah. that wouldn't work. obviously.
not that you had the ability to even stay in the same room as him long enough to put together a few coherent words. but merely the air around him was enough to have shivers running down your spine. and yet, the worst part of it all?
he’s never actually tried anything to cause harm to you. never once warranted your fears. which only makes you feel like you’re losing your damn mind.
so you do the only thing you can do. watch from a distance; observe. bide your time and keep trying to piece things together while ensuring to stay as far away as you possibly can. which, considering you live together, is pretty much next to impossible.
and then, after months of feeling like the tension would just about eat you alive, something finally happens.
it had been a relatively slow day. your roommate had kept to himself as usual, doing nothing out of the ordinary. nothing you could consider hard proof, that is.
having decided on an early night for yourself, you were in bed, adorned with comfortable night clothes. that was when you’d heard it.
a dull thump!
followed up, as if on cue, by a low, guttural groan. the pain in the raspy noise was clear enough to make your stomach twist. against your better judgement, curse you for being soft-hearted, you leave the comfort the safety of your room and towards the adjacent hallway. the door in front of you was slightly ajar, ink like shadows spilling out.
and then you see him.
hunched over, collapsed by the edge of his bed, barely able to hold himself up. riki looks too pale – ashen, almost, like all the warmth has been drained from his body. his breath comes in ragged, uneven gasps. he looks like he’s seconds from death’s door.
your entrance wasn’t as quiet as you’d meant for it to be however. he lifts his head, with a considerable amount of exertion, letting his gaze – dark, unreadable – meet yours. when he speaks, it’s hushed. completely unlike the usual confident drawl he uses otherwise.
“it’s dangerous for you to be in here when i’m like this.”
“what-” you swallow down all the questions bubbling inside your throat. “... are you okay?..”
sure, this was probably the only opportunity you’d have with him this vulnerable but, you can’t bring yourself to take advantage of his weakened state. you venture a little closer to him, to properly be able to appraise his condition, despite your entire being begging you not to.
barely being able to hear his answer, you lean closer still to be able to pick up on the yet again hesitant, reluctant mumble, “i … haven’t fed in a while.”
your heart goes cold. you can all but feel the blood rushing into your ears as you struggle to process what riki just said. obviously, he doesn’t mean that in the literal sense. right?
but before you can even reach a conclusion, decide whether or not to let your flight instinct take control and rush out of here, call someone, anyone for help — with a fluid motion, you find your positions completely switched.
your back meets the hard edge of the bed with a jolt. he kneels in front of you now, towering. his frame eclipses yours, one arm braced on the bed, the other steadying himself on the floor. you can tell he isn’t even putting much effort, but he’s able to cage you in without even trying. no longer can you delude yourself into thinking you have any semblance of control over the situation.
there’s no mistaking it. not with that look in his eyes, the pupils fast dilating – were they always tinged that slight shade of … red? there can be no more excuses, no more pretending that you’re just being paranoid. because this …
… this is real.
“this isn’t happening. it can’t be.” you whisper, as if saying it out loud will manifest it into existence. as if it’ll wake you up from whatever bad fever dream this is.
he looks almost amused, for a second. lips twitching as if he finds your denial to be funny.
and then he’s leaning in closer, closer until … something sharp grazes against your delicate neck. your breath hitches sharply at the sensation.
“forget whatever you think you knew.” his voice is steadier than it was earlier. more certain, more sure of itself. “vampires exist.” ...
where riki’s lips ghost over your neck, his touch is featherlight but somehow still constricting. he tilts your head slightly, movements agonizingly slow exposing it even more to himself.
“can i?..” his voice is strained, as he grits out the words but you appreciate the warning.
even if it might not be of any actual meaning, “do i have a choice?”
“not really, no. i’m sorry.”
and then, a sharp, electric sting as his fangs pierce your skin.
the pain flashes for only a moment, though, before a haze-like dizziness takes its place. sinking into your bones, making your limbs go weaker than they felt before.
his free hand shifts from the floor – after he gains some semblance of his former strength, you assume – and he wraps an arm around your waist, fingers digging into the skin as if it’s the only thing keeping him tethered to the living world. it’s a strange sensation, to say the least. the action is rhythmic, if nothing else.
only when a soft, barely audible gasp escapes you does he pull away, fangs retracting.
his tongue licks against the open wound in what you would only later discover was supposed to be a means to soothe. before you even realize it, you’re reaching for him, clutching onto his shirt, albeit rather weakly in some sort of attempt of grounding yourself.
you don’t know what to say about it. you don’t even know how to feel.
but what you do know is that he’s still looking at you. eyes dark, lips stained red with your blood, chest rising and falling like he’s just barely holding himself together.
looking at him like this, it’s clear as day that he needs more. the struggle, the desperation, the way he seems to be at war with himself.
so you do what any good roommate would do, the words leaving you before you can second guess your decision. you offer yourself to him.
“take what you need.”
his expression flickers. hesitation, shock, relief, aching. “you don’t have to—” he sounds like he wants to refuse, like he knows he should refuse.
but when you tilt your head back slightly, just enough for the previous mark to be visible, you practically hear his resolve crack.
riki presses in close again, with more an ease this time and as the alien sensation you’re growing more and more familiar to takes over, you exhale a breath that you didn’t know you were holding.
“you.. fuck.” his voice is muffled between slow, languid sucks – unhurried, this time. more deliberate. “you’re a terrible roommate.”
you huff out as best as you can, in your (slightly lightheaded) condition “hah... why is that?” a pause. his thumb swipes over the place his lips had been seconds earlier, as if reassuring himself of your pulse. “because this means i owe you.”
