After some careful consideration and input from some friends (shoutout to those who commented on my previous post!), I have decided to rewrite Convalescence!!! Find the beginning of the rewrite here :)
If you are not familiar with this story, it's basically my fic detailing the healing journey of Luke Skywalker from a sexual assault. There are no explicit descriptions of the assault, but I do have other warnings spelled out in the author's notes.
This fic was last updated in 2021, and I've hit many roadblocks trying to finish it. Something didn't feel right for a long time, and every time I tried to write more, I struggled harder and harder. I attribute this difficulty to having an idea for a new direction to take this fic, and gaining new skills as a writer since 2021 that I want to utilize now.
The original, unfinished version of the story will remain posted on my AO3, but the rewrite will have updates so I can finish out the story.

I'm considering rewriting one of my fics that's already posted. It's a multi-chapter fic I've been stuck on for a while and would love to continue, but I find myself wishing I could go back and rework/rewrite some parts. I've grown as a writer (and as a person) since first posting this story, so want to see how I can use my experience to better this fic. I also see this story taking a bit of a different turn now so would like to weave in some foreshadowing, etc.
Part of me is considering going from the beginning and just rewriting everything. I'm thinking of just making a separate story on AO3 (labeled rewrite) so I don't lose what I already have, but I don't know if there's a better way to go about this or not.
Thoughts? Have any of you done anything similar? Any suggestions?
Drew the Skywalker twins!! This was my first time doing a true realism portrait and I’m SO HAPPY with the results! I used the grid method and GOSH it was way easier than I expected??

And, when she was honest with herself, Leia had to admit sometimes she was nervous around the smuggler-turned-Rebel, as though there were an uncertain current that passed between them.
