On Jan. 26th this gorgeous magnetic filament in the Sun’s southern hemisphere erupted. Events like this produce a burst of radiation across the electromagnetic spectrum, this one caused an X-ray enhancement that reached the C1 threshold. The CME it hurled into space will almost certainly miss Earth.
