BLOOD RELATIVES - Dead Hip
I always get a rare, warm fuzzy feeling when I stumble across a great band who seem to be on the start of a big up-swing. That's definitely the feeling I got when I tripped over this video for 'Dead Hip' by Glasgow band Blood Relatives which instantly resonated with me on the same wavelength as 'Life Without Buildings' used to. For me it's one of those songs that I couldn't help skipping right back to the start as soon as that final chord rings out. Luckily for me I'll be able to see them live in my hometown of Aberdeen on the 12th of September where they will be playing at The Tunnels and who knows, maybe they'll even be available for a SuperComa session!
I can't wait to hear a lot more from Blood Relatives and will definitely be checking out their album 'Deerheart' due for release in october - from which they will be releasing the title track as a single with accompanying video in September. Find out all you need to know at blood-relatives.com but first go ahead and hit that big red play button, let Anna's effortlessly breathy and nuanced lyrics trickle down your ear canals whilst the guitars and rhythm section wrap the whole thing up into a sun-soaked ball of smile-enducing pop musicality. I'm off to hit play for the 6th time today myself, enjoy.

In anticipation of our upcoming session with Farewell Singapore, here's a wee teaser for you. This is Farewell Singapore performing 'Liar Liar' on their last journey to the north-east at Cellar 35.
Very much looking forward to shooting something special with these guys in september so watch this space to see the result.

PETER GABRIEL - SLEDGEHAMMER
It's hard to decide what to post for a first-ever blog entry. After much contemplation I have decided to set the tone with one of my all-time favourite songs accompanied by one of the greatest music videos of all time. For some unexplained reason, this video only has 500,000-odd views on the youtube machine - Ocean Colour Scene's 'The Day We Caught The Train' has over 600,000. Make of that what you will.
Anyway, sit back, relax, open your third eye and let Peter take you on a magical mystery plastecine tour, I'll see you on the other side...
