Breaking The Ice || Chapter 2 || Motive Reaction || Closed for Taiki
She could withstand normal winters as long as she had to, but this? This was way overboard. It wasn’t the worst motive, per se. Heck, it would even be bearable as long as she had something to keep her even a little warm. The threat of death behind it, though, was what made it so bone-chillingly terrifying. Just how cold was it going to get?
But she couldn’t spend too much time to whining. What with the cold, a change of clothing was in order. She’d wasted no time taking her hair down, but changing clothes meant going back to her cottage. Which was now missing half its residents. As much as she wanted to get warm, she didn’t want to be in there more than she absolutely had to.
Instead, she stood with her arms wrapped tightly around herself, shivering violently. If she wasn’t going to her cottage, what else could she do? Maybe looking for blankets would be a good start…but where?
Really, Nanase was at a total loss for what to do…that is, until she spotted a certain green-haired boy in what looked to be a very cozy sweater. If he owned something so comfy, maybe he’d know where all the comfy things were! So, without wasting too much time, she approached the boy.
“Y-you w-wouldn’t happen t-t-too know where a-any b-blankets are, w-w-would y-you…?”
The lush Earth he had grown used to was no more. In its place the world around him was blanketed with a thick layer of snow that crunched underneath his feet with every step. As he had made his way towards the fountain he learned that his current shoes were not made for snow venturing. By the time he had reached the group his arms were wrapped around himself and he was sure his socks were soaked.
They were going to have to endure this with no fire? Taiki visibly frowned as he wrapped his arms around himself in an attempt to lock in any heat that tried to escape. This was manageable.. probably. But no fire placed a lot more limitations on them than he would like.
His train of thought was interrupted by the sound of a familiar voice. Taiki turned towards Nananse, noticing how the two looked similar with their arms like so, and offered a warm smile.
“Good morning, Noguchi-san. I know where a few are! that is, they’re in my room. Would you like to borrow one?” He glanced over her attire and continued on to add “You can also borrow a sweater or two!”
