I am bored at work and quite literally the only person in the office because of the holiday, so I couldn’t resist drawing this little frame of our boy from the new rouge agents comics!

I don’t draw often by any means, and I haven’t really drawn much at all since middle school. Maybe I’ll get back into it! I am decent at replicating images and styles but I don’t really have my own art style. Because of that I don’t really like sharing my art since it doesn’t feel like it’s my own thing. Digital art is also a huge mystery to me.

Aside from my little rant, I hope you guys enjoy these doodles!! 💕 If any of you are artists and want to share you you developed your own art style, I would love to hear!

There are a lot of Wrecker moments in Sanctuary that I love, and here’s one:

Hunter claimed the stairs and entered a corridor with Ponder, Wrecker, and the baby cooing in Wrecker’s arms. They hadn’t noticed him yet, so he eavesdropped on Wrecker’s conversation with the child.

“What you’re going to find about this galaxy is a lot of beings will misunderstand you. Take me for example. Some think I only care about blowing things up and eating. I’m more complicated than that. I care about the size of the explosion and also how good the food tastes. I have layers.”

Hunter couldn’t contain his laughter. “Is that so?”

And here’s why I like it. You know, besides the fact that I’m not immune to a big rough man being gentle with a baby:

Wrecker has always struck me as being by far the most self-aware member of clone force 99. He knows, I think, how he comes across, how much bigger he is than everyone else, and how intimidating he can be. There’s some degree to which I think the more playful aspects of his personality are—eh, not Wrecker acting, because it’s genuine, but Wrecker being intentionally fun and playful to put people he wants to be friendly with at ease.

And along with that I think Wrecker kind of knows that people he meets can have a tendency to shove him into this specific big dumb bruiser shaped box. Cid does the first time they meet, and I’m pretty sure that’s why Crosshair basically calls him an idiot during “Kamino Lost” when Crosshair’s busy lashing out at everyone and trying to drive them away. Wrecker’s huge and loud and fun and, yeah, a tiny bit impulsive, and unfortunately for a lot of people that probably translates to “reckless” and “stupid” even though Wrecker isn’t either one. At all. And that’d probably get old after a while.

So I love this little moment, because it’s Wrecker giving baby Coru some genuinely good life advice (that people will misunderstand you and you should expect that) followed by a very self-aware example of one way to deal with it (Wrecker poking fun at how some people think food and explosions are his whole personality and being able to laugh about it without taking himself too seriously).

This is probably going to sound counterintuitive, and obviously I’m making this argument from the perspective of my larger argument that Tech is intended to be alive, but I actually think that the whole plan 99 situation and the aftermath would have hit less painfully if the writers had intended Tech to be dead.

New geometric watercolor art:

Spinning Projection

Spins in quantum mechanics and strereographic projection, inspired by Roger Penrose. As I am using orthographic projection, this is "orthographic projection of stereographic projection", sort of. Graphite pencil, watercolors, watercolor pencils, normal colored pencils. Spins in quantum mechanics and stereographic projection: The spin is built from an up and a down component. If you visualize it as an arrow pointing in a certain direction, you can project down the point where the spin punctures the sphere. The image point In the equatorial plane can be interpreted as the ratio of the "amounts" of up and down component (This is not exact terminology.) Playing with the geometry, half of the inclination angle theta of the original arrow shows up again when looking at the projection in the plane. This factor one half is what a lot of weirdness of spins can be traced back to (like: "You need two full rotations to get back to the original state").
