I think Brock may be dead. Oh well.
And nothing of value was lost.
may he rest in piss
Guys come on now.. he was still a person.
Barely.
*tut*
Everyone is a person. There’s no scale of personhood.
He can be a bad person but he’s still a person.
Jeffrey Dahmer. Donald Trump. Hitler.
Horrible people. Still people.
I knew I liked Batman more than you.
Me and Batman are friends.. I don’t see how that’s an argument.
My point is that if you make a scale of who is and is not a person, where do you draw the line?
My lines are often blurred or greyed, sir.
But it exists.
Sometimes. Depends, I guess. Dude was shit talking my newborn and my husband. So I beat him to a bloody pulp. He coulda just shut up. That’s on him.
Hm. There were better ways to handle that.
I think Brock may be dead. Oh well.
And nothing of value was lost.
may he rest in piss

you have to be kinder to people with memory issues.
you have to be kinder to people who are slow processors.
you have to be kinder to people who don't understand your jokes.
you have to be kinder to people who forget important dates.
you have to be kinder to people with cognitive decline.
you have to be kinder to people who were always this way, too.
you have to be kind. you have to be kind.
open rp: rats to the slaughter
frank watched as the blood dripped out of his latest target's slit neck.
The man's arms were tied up and rested on a meat hook, he could only gurgle and cry as the blood filled his mouth and lungs.
frank felt no remorse, this was justice. this was fair.
after the man stopped moving frank grabbed her coat and stepped over a few the dozens of dead bodies on the ground, the blood a thin layer on the cold concrete floor, staining it a darker tone.
a click from behind and frank pulled out a hand pistol and pointed it at the door. she narrowed her eyes
"what're you doin here?"
*Clark’s reporter persona drops the second his senses pick up the blood and the dying heartbeat of a man who could’ve had a chance.*
*He recoils at the pool of blood.*
What have you done?
"what had to be done. now're you gonna be a problem too?"
she keeps the gun pointed square at Clark's head unaware of the fact that it would never be able to do anything.
He had a chance- they all had a chance at redemption! What could possibly make you justify this?!
*Clark gets louder, trying to not step in the blood, he can’t afford to keep ruining his shoes.*
"no they didn't, all these animals didn't deserve it neither"
one of the men on the ground start to twitch and frank maintains eye contact while she gifts the man another three shots to the head
"they're pests. I put em down"
*Clark flinches at the shots, hearing the heart beat go out.*
You’re murdering these people! They could’ve had lives! Families! You’re killing generations!
"yeah they had lives and this is how they spent em. so this is how I spend mine."
"what're you here for anyways? you got business with these rats?"
I’m.. supposed to be reporting on the corruption in this city. But I guess I have a better topic.
If you think I’m letting you get away with this you’re dead wrong, pal.
"we're not pals and I don't give a shit about what you can do to me. you wanna pick a fight? go ahead"
she holds her gun in her left hand, pointing it at the ground as she walks past clark, giving him a solid shoulder check before heading to the door behind him.
*Clark is an immovable object. Francis shoulder checked a wall.*
*Clark follows her heartbeat as he takes pictures of the scene before him.*
"goddamn" with that one check she knows he's not just some journalist. she keeps that info in her pocket.
she knows when she's being followed so she just heads over to the docks. taking a bus and then walking over to a bench.
she pulls out a cigarette from her pack and lights it in her mouth, the blood on her hands all crusted and dried now.
*He sends what he has to Lois. He’ll let her take the credit for writing it, he’ll give picture credit to Jimmy, and take a reference credit.*
*He also of course calls the police, and leaves before he’s found.*
* @superman-metropolis glides down in front of Francis.*
frank pauses at the man wearing bright red underpants over his blue onesie floating in front of her "...who the actual hell are you supposed'ta be?"
Name is Superman. I’ll be taking you into custody for the murder of over 20 men who have yet to be identified.
"fuck off" with a groan she gets up from the bench and walks along the dock, a small cloud of smoke left as a trail while the puffs the cigarette
*Superman follows*
You have no remorse. No shame. No empathy. No respect for humankind.
*He doesn’t really want a fight. But he readies himself for one anyway.*
she chuckles bitterly and shoots him a glance over her shoulder "oh great just what we needed, another Red"
"maybe if you got to those pieces of shit before I did then I wouldn't have killed em. but I also know that's not true cause all those things get in a cell are a day and a free meal and then they're back on the streets with you and me doin the same shit they always do"
Look, I get it. You think you’re doing the right thing to the right people but you’re not. We have systems in place for a reason. People can be rehabilitated and learn to see the errors in their ways and become a productive member of society again.
You’re causing more unnecessary grief than the person who committed the crime.
If everybody thought like you, society wouldn’t exist.
*Superman kept his voice calm, low. He gets it, he really does. But he loves humanity too much to allow this to continue, the good and the bad.*
"and you're here talking to me instead of doin a single thing about it. isn't that something?" she stops at a seemingly random spot at the fencing and leans on it
"people like you make me sick, it's you idiots and your blind hope that makes people feel like their lives are worth just as much as any rapist, killer or child predator that spends their time rotting this city. and before you ask me if that includes me, yeah it does"
"I don let anybody else do what I do"
*Superman sets his jaw.*
I am one man.. one alien. I’m expected to fight every battle? I do the best that I can everyday. And that’s all that everyone can do.
No these are not good people but humans are not dogs. No second chances aren’t always applicable but that’s the exception not the rule.
If I, someone not from this planet, can have as much love and compassion for this planet as I do, you can have a little more empathy for people who made a mistake. I’m not saying look the other way on pedophiles and rapists. I’m asking you to have more respect and dignity for the human race.
You should let the people decide what happens to bad people, not take it upon yourself. You’re not God.
frank sighs "if you think you're gettin a big change from me after one bullshit shot at empathy then you're dead wrong"
"you do what you gotta do and I'll do what I gotta do"
Not expecting a big change. I’ve learned humans can be quite stubborn in their ways.
*Superman smiles slightly.*
What I hope for is that you’ll consider my words. Maybe think before you shoot. I do have to take you in but something tells me you won’t stay for long.
..Can I know what motivates you?
"don't have nothing to lose" she flicks some ash off the cigarette before taking another puff
*Superman’s X-ray finds her dog tags.*
War vet..?
"yeah..Marines, did lots of 'odd jobs' in that time" she focuses on a point in the water and watches the small waves crash against the dock
"I'm not proud of any of it if that helps ease your mind or whatever the hell you're hoping for"
*Superman nods and stays quiet for a long minute.*
Those people back there.. what’d they do?
"human trafficking" she says simply.
"no one gets into that business out of desperation. you get on your knees and clean bathrooms or windows if you need to but never that"
*Superman nods again.*
No they don’t. I understand the reason why you killed them even if I don’t agree. Some people can’t be rehabilitated even if I want to be.
*He’s conflicted. He knows he should take Francis in. She killed dozens of people and more before him. But he understands why she would, especially if it was people like them.*
..I can get your sentence reduced if you would like to give a statement to a friend of mine. The system let you down and he tries to get these sorts of things fixed.
I’m not expecting massive change from you.. just maybe more.. care for people?
"Ive already been in prison for killin, thought you'd recognize me since you're a journalist...was I not supposed to put that together? keep a better wrap on it" she shoots him a look over her shoulder
"anyways I was supposed to stay there for a long time and I almost didn't last a day cause I got locked in with some members of a gang I'd gone after. I had to put all those guys down too"
"the only reason I'm free now is cause a man with a lot of dirty money made them let me go, he wanted me to keep killin. that man is the mayor now. the rot goes all the way to the top, you see? if a woman like me could slip through the cracks, I doubt there's a piece of shit that couldn't"
..We have similar face shapes.. my name is Kal-El. He is Clark Kent.. he wears glasses.
I still believe we can make things better. If the people learn of this, the justice system can do it job. I know good people who want to do good in this world, fix these broken systems and help people. You’ve seen so much of the bad side of humanity, you’ve lost sight on how good people can be.
Just because you fell through the cracks doesn’t mean everyone will.
"yeah yeah I know bullshit when I hear it"
"I don't want anyone staining their hands but me, thinkin that if the word gets out that we'd all hold hands and fix everythin with no blood spilt is fuckin stupid. the words been out but nothin."
I don’t appreciate being called stupid. I can be hopeful and realistic. I’m aware people have a tendency to violence, especially in situations like these.
Maybe some people don’t understand how serious the situation is. Maybe some people need someone they trust to tell them. Maybe we haven’t found the right person to act yet.
"everyone knows how bad it's gotten but I don't want them doin a thing about it cause as soon as they do a target will be on their back too. those men can and will put a bullet through every good head out there" she looks down at her stained hands and flexes them, trying to get rid of the sticky feeling of blood
"there's people out there that know who I am and what I do and they don't want me stopping either. they said I make them feel safer" she looks over at him "I do these things and I let people see my face cause I got nothin to lose. but you do, that's why you don't use your name right? so why should I listen to you? a man that can't stand behind his actions even if you've polished them up like silver?"
..If you’re going to insist on acknowledging my identity then I will talk about it.
I don’t have anything to lose.. necessarily. My planet, my people, my parents died. But it was when I was a baby. My parents shot me to earth and I was raised by the Kent family who foraged documents for me. Called me Clark Kent.
I don’t resonate with Kal-el like I do Clark because I never grew up with Kal-el. I knew I was different, developed my powers early. But my parents taught me how to use them for good.
But humans place biases on others. They’ll hear Smallville Kansas and think I’m a rednecked republican, spread hate in my name. However they’ll see an alien helping grandma cross the street and think of E.T. They’ll see the bright suit and underwear and see a hero. They can’t place a bias on me because I don’t look like any one place on earth.
It also inspires hope. “If an alien can love humanity maybe I can too.”
I also have Clark because I love helping people through my journalism. It’s important work calling out things like these. They don’t trust Superman to do it because if he’s so busy writing articles, how can he save people?
"a man that has nothing left to lose doesn't act the way you do. maybe you lost but you have more people now"
And maybe you’re right.. but I will always stand behind whatever actions I make. I don’t use Clark to hide from Superman’s actions or vice versa.
I’ve only ever wanted to help people.

Maybe we haven’t found the right person to act yet.
open rp: rats to the slaughter
frank watched as the blood dripped out of his latest target's slit neck.

"don't have nothing to lose" she flicks some ash off the cigarette before taking another puff
*Superman’s X-ray finds her dog tags.*
War vet..?
open rp: rats to the slaughter
frank watched as the blood dripped out of his latest target's slit neck.
