A Supermodel With Lupus

Okay so I'm not really a supermodel. Just a nickname I picked up along the way about nine years ago that sort of stuck. I'm just an ordinary chick that likes to write screenplays, talk to dead people, and is obsessed with the internet, seafood, and good conversation. Oh and I have Lupus. I follow people with chronic illnesses and disabilities such as MS, POTS, epilepsy, HIV/AIDS, diabetes, cerebral palsy, scleroderma, lupus, depression, cancer, chrons, fibromyalgia, and people with mental and physical disabilities etc. I started out finding people with Lupus when I learned that there is a whole community of people out there that need support when they can't find it in their own environment. I have learned so much from you all. Thank you for making my life experience more richer by knowing your everyday struggles. You are not alone.

Yeah I went to the pain clinic once to see what options they had for me and they had posters everywhere that said:

Compliance, Com·pli·ance (Noun) -

The act or process of complying to a desire, demand, proposal, or regimen.

And they said that if you didn’t comply with their treatment plan - i.e. couldn’t show up for appointments, weren’t able to follow through with physical therapy, or disagreed with anything they said they wouldn’t help you and they’d send a formal letter to your primary doc stating that you refused to be compliant as a patient.

First of all, bullshit. There is literally zero reason most disabled people can’t work a full workday just like anyone else. Chronically ill people, perhaps. But disabled people are just people with a disability.

Secondly, the film industry constantly works with children, who can only work certain numbers of hours a day and a week. So fuck you and your Ableist excuses.
