What do the poly crew like to do most together? What do they like to do on their time off?

i like to think that the three of them cycle through different patrol patterns ——— some that allow two of them to go together while one stays at the agency / makes sure retail remains calm ——— just so at least one of them is on active duty to make sure the island is safe while one stays behind / one is on break ( or really any variant of this pattern ). when they’re all together, however, they focus on bigger cases and go on investigations, so that’s probably their favorite pastime together because their work is so demanding ( but they like to joke around and be cute when things aren’t too serious u feel )

on the rare occasion they’re all able to spend time together outside of work, i think they’d be super chill with each other…….. all laying in awkward positions on the loveseat that’s too small but they don’t care OR… noir and sleuth going through gum’s little greenhouse to give each of her plants little name tags for her to find later (’: little acts of affection because i don’t imagine them as super romantic people, but affectionate towards one another regardless

i can see them enjoying the nightlife a lot, too; nightclubs, bars, restaurants, etc. sure they cherish quiet, domestic days off, but going out to lounge and smoke in random, exotic nightclubs is something that suits them, i think. there’s a level of risk in their jobs that they like to toy with when not on duty. basically, their relationship lies on both ends of the spectrum; they’re either safe and comfortable with each other or they’re off doing more dangerous, seedy things ( without breaking the law ofc )

Just as she had observed, his honey brown eyes having already scanned the room thoroughly. He wonders if they should close the doors or draw the blinds, but Harley knows they’re both quick on the draw just as much as the other. Tipping his hat up, eyes widen a little at the artifact Gum procures from under her arm. He scans it, and the longer he looks the longer she should be able to notice his gears turning and turning. “You said y’got this around....” He takes a labored pause, scratching his stubble, “... ‘Round the Lodge? Or....” Harley scoots his hat further from his face so he can reach and skirt a couple fingers along the frayed edges of the parchment. His eyes do light up, and he sits back before straightening up at his desk. “But yeah, yeah - I did wanna poke around a little. See if the rumors of those pirates really are true. It’d be damn interesting, huh?” Harley says, a sly grin slipping into his expression. He stands, only bending again to grab his bag that ends up slung over his shoulder to rest across the middle of his back. “You wanna unravel that thing and see where we’re headed?” He suggests.

no, she can't explain the somersault feeling in her belly, despite the numerous ‘ adventurous outings ’ she's embarked on with previous ——— lovers. there's something different about him, even if it doesn't make her face hot nor her palms sweaty. ❛ harley, do you have a minute to talk? ❜

He glances up. A couple coffee mugs sit among the other items atop his desk, papers, notepads, and the like. As he sets his pen aside, the man leans back to tip his hat up and acknowledge her – bandage, across a tanned nose, wrinkling in similar fashion to how it always does when he fixes her with that closed-lip and crooked smile. “Mm - sure, Gum.” His voice rasps back, his head tilting to the side. “You wanna talk here, or - ?” Motions, more than likely to the door to the alley behind the investigator’s office they work out of. He’s not sure what sort of talk she’s wanting to have, but if she wants the privacy Harley is always willing to offer it.

What inspired you to be a detective?

He rubs his shoulder, giving a lopsided smirk.“Yeah, well - I read a lot of Sherlock Holmes when I was a little guy, and I was also really interested in conspiracy theories an’ what not. I thought it’d be real awesome to be just like Sherlock, but... I wanted to help out people who thought their cases were unsolvable, or... Unbelievable.” Harley explains.

What do you think of the new stuff on the island?

He scratches leather gloves across a stubble-covered chin. Even his band-aid wrinkles up, nose scrunched as he thinks.“Mmm.... Lemme think.” He says, a gruff voice rumbling from his mouth. “I can sure as hell say this - it’s been givin’ us a lot of stuff t’look into over at the agency.” Harley explains. “But y’know what? I, personally, love th’ challenge and I can’t wait t’dig even deeper. I was gonna go check out some stuff over in Wailing, but uh... That’s sorta... Too hot for me, personally.” He adjusts his hat.“But for now, I wanna check out the Lake. I know most people think it’s all... Nice’n pretty, but... Somethin’s up. I guarantee it.”

does harley act differently depending on the time of day? this is in relation to when he's involved in cases / investigations, but i'm curious about how he acts in general as well ;o;

:// During a case, Harley acts a little more serious than his typical persona. He gets deep into his job, only speaking when a thought has spent a good amount of time in his head. He gets quiet, and will simply act rather than give any verbal cues. He does get more physical, and won’t hesitate to act before he thinks. Harley just gets very involved and hyper-focused on a case.

In general, he does smile a lot - majority of the time, it’s a closed mouth grin. He tends to joke around and shoot pranks at the other detectives, and is very chatty. Harley also loves to introduce himself, and otherwise just enjoys observing everyone around him (odds are he notices things before you do and knows details that you’ve never shared before -- he’s very into observing).

What does Harley do in his spare time?

:// Typically, he - doesn’t really have a lot of spare time. Because of his schedule he tends to spend that time off napping, or just taking jogs around the island to keep his body in shape (even though he’s not built to be muscular, just with a lot of stamina). Otherwise, he does have a few small succulents in his windows that he takes care of, and he’s looking to expand the little window-garden. Harley also enjoys simply reading the newspaper or listening to old records.
