I’m sorry, who were you again? Oh right, Ishimaru!
Hello, I've been feeling down lately and I've been trying to make friends but i feel like im doing everything wrong and i keep saying im sorry when it isnt necessary, i dont know what to do and i feel like i just keep messing up and that i cant make any friends because i chicken out at the last second before talking to someone and i just hate the fact that im really shy and that it holds me back from making friends and talking to people, i dont know what to do..
I think we’ve all felt that way at some point. It feels really awful, too. I’m sure you are a very sweet person, but making friends can be really hard, especially when you’re shy about talking to new people. Instead of saying sorry, try explaining to the person you are talking to that you are feeling very nervous about getting to know them. Hopefully, they will realize that you’re a shy soul and be helpful enough to engage you in a conversation!
Something that stops a lot of people from making friends quickly is other people. It’s a lot easier to connect with people when it’s just you two! You just have to work up all your courage, and I’m sure you can make tons of friends. Just be yourself and let them know what you’re thinking. They are probably just as shy as you are. I hope this helped and you make lots of new friends!
Sonia, I often feel like I am a failure, and although I am usually confident about myself and have pride in what I do, sometimes I feel that deep down everyone, finds me annoying and troublesome. How should I combat thoughts such as these?
I can assure you that you are not a failure at all! While everyone has these thoughts and they are quite normal, I will do my best to help you combat them! Try writing a list of your good qualities. Everyone has good qualities, so don’t be afraid that you’re sounding conceited or too confident! When you highlight your good qualities, fears such as feeling that you seem annoying or troublesome are often countered.
If you’re having trouble with that, try asking a friend or family member to tell you some of your good qualities. Ask someone who will take it seriously though, not someone who will jokingly say “you have none” or anything like that! Even try asking someone to remind you of all your good qualities when you’re not feeling very confident.
I’m positive that you are a bright and wonderful person, and I’m sure many people love and respect what you do! I hope I've helped and that any of these negative thoughts can be diminished. Remember to have self-confidence! Try your hardest and you’ll be the best person you can possibly be.
I'll be here to help.
I hope you're all having a good day so far! To start things off, I'd like you to picture the sweetest and most kind person you know in your head. Imagine that one person that's always smiling and there to help anyone who needs it. Do you have their image in your head?
Now, imagine that person screaming at their parents and having a fit. It doesn't seem very much like them, right? We may even have trouble picturing that! The reason I wanted you all to try and imagine the sweetest person you know doing something like throwing a tantrum is to highlight the fact that everyone has bad days!
Sometimes, we feel like a bad person when we act rude if we are having a bad day. Maybe we'll yell at a friend or ignore someone who needs help. Although we should strive to act as kind as we possibly could all the time, we need to forgive ourselves if we act out of the loop. It's impossible for someone to be happy and amiable all the time. Things such as discomfort, agitation, and depression can stop someone from presenting themselves as happy and willing people. Still, this does NOT make us bad people!
We may even judge someone who is having an off day. You may think to yourselves that a person is completely rude when they've just had an awful day. We need to be more forgiving of ourselves and others! When asking ourselves how certain people can be so kind and happy all the time, it's important to remember that they are still human. Everybody experience anger and sadness at times. It's impossible to avoid them. Still, we should deal with them in the best way possible! Maybe try talking it out with a friend or family member or even try doing something soothing such as drawing or listening to music.
With that, remember that you or anyone else shouldn't feel bad for acting differently when having a bad day! It's impossible to avoid them, yet I know that some people feel awful when they approach things differently when experiencing one or think awfully of another person who is experiencing one. We just have to know how to deal with having a bad day. With that, I hope you all have a great day and I'll speak with you tomorrow!
Just a reminder that anyone can be a princess or prince! It doesn't matter what your gender, race, size, sexual orientation, or anything else is. Everyone is capable of being whatever they want to be! Sometimes we have goals that may seem too "big" to accomplish, but we can accomplish anything that we work at.
Don't be afraid to go forth and do things that you may be scared to do! Even if you feel like no one is backing you up, I guarantee that there's always going to be somebody behind you the whole way. You may not even realize how many people care about you, but I can guarantee they do! I care about all you, too. I want us all to succeed, but that requires taking chances.
