Robert yanked out more of the ball and laughed, "You better! An' then I'm gonna hafta whoop you fer breakin' them doors."
The last of the ball was extracted from the cable and Robert sighed with relief. He was about to jump into the cart to get it started back up when the metal made a very loud whining noise.
Robert didn't like this sound. He tried to scale the side of the shaft but to no avail. The sound increased and suddenly the previously jammed cable snapped loose of the cart. The Engineer ducked down to avoid being smacked by the waving cable. "DAMN IT DAMN IT." He slipped into the open hatch, hitting the elevator cart floor with a painful thud.
"Fuck!"
"Heavy would like to see tiny man try!" He sounded a might too eager to scrap with his smaller teammate. The very thought had him grinning and absently cracking his knuckles beneath his thumbs.
But, that mirth soon left him when he heard a series of strange noises and the Engineer shouting. And then the little man took a big tumble. Even he had to cringe at the sound of his impact.
"Engineer?" He asked, cautiously stepping forward and kneeling down. He knew better than to duck in there with him. Between their combined weight, he didn't know if he could trust the broken lift to hold. The best he could do was set an arm on the door to ensure it stayed open and reach out towards his fallen teammate. "Come! Is time to get out, now!"
