Why is EA so poor or on such a tight budget?

EA isn’t poor, they just want to make more profit like any other business. And one way to increase the profit margin is by cutting losses caused by development. What separates EA’s business practices from other businesses however is the way they go about trying to generate more profit - it’s sleazy, unethical, and worst of all, unavoidable. 

They’ve given The Sims development team a tighter budget to work with because EA knows that Sims fans are relentless and will buy their products regardless of its quality. Why spend extra money to polish it and make it better if fans are going to buy it anyway? Since The Sims is the only game of its kind, where else would they go if they were to boycott it? 

I think the thing that offends me the most is how they’re trying to lure in/appease new Sims players with these goofy objects in the packs. Like, I absolutely love goofy objects, but to feature it as a reason to get a pack (like the racoon suit. no joke, look at the official blogs, they’ve featured it like 20 times) is awful. 

Content-wise, the packs are great. They give a lot of things for us CC creators to play with, but that doesn’t make up for the fact that they are absolutely shallow in game play.
