Using Gdevelop I was able to create some basic moveable characters. Some ideas were changed in the middle of development. The random creation aspect of the game is removed and changed into a level-based development. The rpg aspect of the game is kept but the levels are more basic, instead of the complex random levels, different types of enemies will be added. Progression is shown in the attached photo with the mc and part of the level
For this course, I will be needed to create a prototype for a platformer game. For the elevated pitch i need to consider the final product.
After some research, i have decided to create a designer centric game. This is because i want to design a game that ilike over somthing that more suited towards majority of the player base.
The base concept that I have settled with is a roguelike game. The player will be sent to a dungeon to find the exit and complete the stage.
What is the gameplay
The player will enter a dungeon filled with rooms and monsters, the player will need to locate the boss and defeat it to exit while collecting loots and weapons.
Why will the game be compelling
The game is heavily inspired by the much beloved RPG genre. The game will feature a variety of weapons to enhance both the randomness and different possibilities. This will keep the player thinking about different strategies and tactics to progress further and faster through the dungeon.
Who is the target audience
The game is aimed at people aged 9+
What is the players role
The player takes the role fo a hero who hopes to defeat and clear out the dungeon earing fame and glory.
How do you motivate the players
the player will be constantly rewarded with in-game currencies and different varieties of weapons. This allows for high level of customisation for the player.
Where is the game set
The game is set in a underground dungeon deep in a mountain range. The moutain range is cursed by the dark forces as base of operation.
Vail of Heroes is a roguelike dungeon RPG where the player will be faced with the dark forces of this foreign land and clear the dungeon. During this process the player will be rewarded will countless loot and different weapons to assist them with taking out the different bosses.
The game rating will be PG as abstract violence will be present in the game. The game is aimed at age 9+ due to the abstract violence and supernatural aspect in the game.

HI my name is suren. I am a third year student studying computer science in Qut.
My passion for video games started when I was 7, that's the age when I got access to Plant vs zombies. I felt like at the time it was the most interesting thing that i had ever played. Then after that, I got my first gaming consoles in the form of a 3ds and a playstation 3. and that's when I got access to both skylanders and Pokemon which are two of my favourit games.
i started to learn how to code Python in high school. One of the courses offered was a Python course that would teach basic functions like turtles. they would also start to teach how to make basic games such as breakout. Then I started learning and trialling with RPG maker and later on moved to learning about Unity.
My goal for this course is to further expand my knowledge about game development and improve my insight into the industry. i also hope to learn from fellow peers about their knowledge and ideas with game development.
