Turkey Thursday: Picking the Right Turkey

  When buying a turkey first thing first you have to decide how much? 

You are looking at about 1-1 1/2 lbs of turkey per guest, more if you want to have leftovers.  If you have a large amount of guest try to get 2 medium sized birds, your cook time will be less and a larger turkey has a tendency to dry out while cooking I try to keep the birds around 14-16lbs.
