I used to have a friend that used to love barcelona and once told me: barcelona is better than madrid because it's got fountains. I didn't understand what she meant and thought she was talking about decorative fountains, and i thought it was silly to think that having lots of decorative fountains would make a city better than another. Well the other day i was walking down the street and saw a public regular fountain and it literally made me think: wow barcelona's better than madrid because it's got fountains and madrid doesn't. And it's so crazy that it immediately made me remember her words and how i finally understood what she meant ten years later, and how i needed to move to barcelona myself to get it and she'll never know any of this because we haven't spoken in six years
