thinking about how women’s clothing trends the last two years have been quietly influenced by 90s rock icons —> namely the polkadot trend.

In 2024, Urban Outfitters started sliding polkadot into their releases, while also simultaneously randomly selling an array of Garbage band merch, despite the fact that a lot of young people don’t know garbage, showing their influence.

Hollister appeared to be influenced by Gwen Stefani of No Doubt, about a year ago releasing a dress very similiar to what she wore in the ‘Don’t Speak’ music video

I would honestly love to know how fashion companies organise this kind of stuff because it’s so interesting
