People in Taiwan, we're now protecting our democracy.

Here is the report from CNN: “Occupy Congress!” People in Taiwan Protest against the Agreement on Trade with China. The title is not exactly correct, cause the truth is we're firmly against the illegal procedure to make this agreement pass, instead of against everything in the trade agreement with China. We, people in this country, have the right to know the content of the agreement and how it will affect us in the future.

To quote the short description by white house voting page : "President Ma is trying to ignore normal review procedure and enforce to pass the trade agreement between Taiwan and China without any line-by-line review. This agreement will only benefit the China economy. Moreover, Taiwan will be invaded gradually:Taiwanese democracy will erode by Chinese dictatorship."

It has been 5 days, we haven't received specific response from the government. Even we see a protracted war in front of us, but we'll never give in to this illegal, under-the-table agreement, will hold on to defend our democracy, our country and our future, whatever the cost may be.

The dropping rain and the glacier lagoon were melting together when we arrived Jökulsárlón. In south east of Iceland, this glacier lagoon stems down from Europe's largest glacier, Vatnajökull. In the "land of fire and ice", even the murmurous sound from the glacier lagoon amazingly glowed like fire.

I met three boys having a great water time by the lake Härlanda Sjö in Göteborg, Sweden. They had so much fun but actually the water temperature was only about 15℃. That’s warm enough for strong Swedish kids already I guess!

陽光普照的一天，在哥德堡的 Härlanda Sjö 湖畔遇到水男孩。雖然十五度的水溫還是很冷，不過瑞典的小孩就是有這麼強健的體魄 (哈)！

The real sound of cowbell in the middle of Sweden. It was recorded at one 'fäbod', an old style relocated dairy farm to which the cattle are removed for summer grazing with a shepherd.

'Fado', symbolic music culture of Lisbon, very charming. The manner at a Fado restaurant is that people talk till the light turns dim, then it's time to stop talking and enjoy the music.

Support the Action - Occupy Gezi

The two tracks below were recorded by my friend Burak Faik Emirgil from Turkey. Two days after I left Turkey, the protests broke out in Istanbul. Millions were outraged by the violent reaction of their government to a peaceful protest aimed at saving Istanbul's Gezi Park. It's not only about the park. People are serious and angry with going backwards of their democracy. It's shocking since it's so close to the time I was there and it also reminds me several recent happenings in my country Taiwan, including the 'Tree Protection' in New Taipei city. No matter where, it's no difference people defend their value and protect their home, against the injustice with human being's body. No one says it will go succeed tomorrow, but we do it because it's the right thing to do. Best wishes to Turkey, and in hope that Gezi Park won't have the same future as the old trees in New Taipei city.

在我離開土耳其後第二天，伊斯坦堡就爆發了人民抗議政府欲拆除塔克辛廣場 Gezi Park 的政策，靜坐的人們遭受警方以催淚瓦斯攻擊的衝突事件，其總理甚至於當天下令封鎖Twitter以嚇止集會的擴大產生，人民對國家倒退的發展方向發出怒吼，之後更衍生為全國性的抗議運動。下面的個錄音就是土耳其朋友 Burak 當時在塔克辛廣場靜坐所錄下的。我忍不住想到前陣子發生在新北市的搶救江翠老樹行動，遺憾的是老樹們最後還是遭到暴力的遷移了。遠在台灣的我默默給予土耳其祝福，祈禱塔克辛廣場的Gezi Park 不會遭遇和江翠老樹一樣的命運。
