Se potessi vivere un’altra vita.

Se io potessi rivivere la mia vita

nella prossima cercherei di commettere più errori,

giocherei più volte nella mia strada

e sarei più sciocca di quello che sono stata

Non cercherei di essere tanto precisa

e piuttosto decisa,

prenderei la vita più allegramente,

e sarei meno accondiscendente.

Se io potessi vivere nuovamente la mia vita

danzerei sui prati a piedi nudi

farei acrobazie con le cicale e le farfalle,

intonerei insieme a loro, un coro con le stelle,

mi allieterei dei ronzii d'ali e brusii di fronde,

praticherei lo Yoga Itinerante

e mi rifocillerei l'anima delle intense fragranze

dei boschi profumati di lavanda

Se io potessi vivere un’altra vita,

viaggerei più spesso con lo zaino sulle spalle,

mi arrampicherei sui monti

per goderne le albe e i tramonti.

Respirerei la salsedine degli oceani

tra le urla dei gabbiani,

tra le vele gonfie di vento

e la pelle bianca di sale.

Se io vivessi una seconda vita mi darei più tempo,

perché lui è avaro, ti da solo il fabbisogno

se lo dispendi, non ti restituisce nulla,

resta muto e continua col suo possente tic-toc

a digerire secondi, minuti, ore, mesi e anni..

Poi, un bel giorno, capisci che ne hai sprecato tanto,

stai per arrivare al tramonto

senza rendertene conto!

The Schorr Collection 

The treatment of the theme of the Penitent Magdalen, although common in 17th c. art, is unusual in this instance, as she is shown still in her rich attire, but holding Christ’s Crown of Thorns. The scriptures in her hand also indicate that she is at the point of penitence. (SC)
