The heavy damage literally left Claudia confused and mentally deranged. Armand panics and to hide what he did, he pushed Claudia and Madeleine out into the deadly morning sun, leading to her final end and turning her to dust.

So yes he has cut off and reattached heads before, yes he cut off Nickis hands and left the poor boy to go crazy because playing the violin is all that Nicki had, throwing himself into the fire

Armand played a central, mastermind role in the kangaroo court trial in Paris that condemned Claudia and Madeleine to death, HE DIRECTED THE PLAY.

He manipulated Louis, lies, fawns, cowards, repeats.

"Armand wouldn't do that." People say but yes. He would. He did. And he'll continue to do so.

Me sitting here with all my books where Lestat fucks around with David, Dora, Gretchen, just about fifty people before he and Louis decide yep, we're good.

I started out watching fully expecting War of the Roses for 8 seasons but then they killed off David so maybe we're looking at nuptials in season 7. Heh. 🥂 I'm actually surprised we even got a pinkiekiss when we did, fully expecting similar levels of affevtion after QotD.

No, I'm not doing deep analysis. I have a real life, this is my guilty pleasure and after seeing the shit in Torchwood fandom I am keeping a healthy distance.

hey guys? Do we maybe think that Armand's tit-for-tat mentality, and the way he's been tallying up his and everyone else's sins against each other is a problem? Is it maybe possible that Louis managing to find empathy for Armand in the face of the monstrosity being done to him, and that radical act of kindness and honesty (about the ways he unintentionally hurt Armand) moving Armand so much that it nearly breaks him, is idk a major theme of this whole season?

you know, sorta like how Lestat was holding onto his feelings of betrayal about the book, and all it did to serve him was make him absolutely miserable and lonely and push him into the arms of someone actively harming him. And how it was only after he let that go, and helped Louis even though he still thought that Louis didn't give a shit about him, that they were able to connect again and be happier than we've ever seen them.

Or like how Louis was able to look past his initial feelings of revulsion and betrayal about the Sophia lie, and offered comfort and a space to speak honestly, and how that granted him a deeper understanding of Lestat, and ultimately strengthened their bond.

Are we seeing the pattern here? How they're breaking the curse of loneliness when they stop seeing each other as monsters, and extend a bit of empathy, even when it's hard or not deserved? How addressing the gaping wound behind the actions might open the door to healing for both parties?

Paul is there. Man. I love that Paul was there because he's a person who suffered. He loved the birds. Lestat... and birds

There are flaws but I love that bit. I just. It's beautiful. It's two damaged people, two damaged souls. And they meet because they love Louis.

Also, at the first trailer gor this episode, and from other shots I had an idea that Enzo was the Ordinary Man and in a way... maybe? He is? He's very ordinary. One ordinary person Lestat killed.

You know what? No complaints. Well, okay. One.

My one complaint: it feels like filler. It feels like the start of something but... perhaps more like the bridge of a song which I suppose is suitable.

Armand and Louis? They've been enmeshed since season 1, so I kinda see where this came from. Armand being a freaky fuck and going on an apology tour which then escalates to "let me fucking apologize you asshole! Or else!".

Lestat looking back on his life and being told "you lived at home till you were THIRTY" my dudes: I had the same reaction!

"Wait, he lived at home til thirty?!?" Lmao.

And then: Lestat and Paul. You know. Paul would not have been there had Lestat killed his. Paul would not have been there if he didn't mean what he said (though I laughed at him saying he sometimes wished Lestat was a woman and Lestat's reply!), Lestat freaking out because where's Louis, Lestat shouting at Gabi 🙏🏻

Oh. And. I forgot. We circle back to the very first episode: Lestat seeing Louis. Louis is Lestat's centre. Lestat is Louis' centre. ❤️

Yeah okay bring on the world destruction. I mean. 🔥🔥🔥

The echoes of season 1, the world is a savage garden and Lestat going through his failures. Near crying in the coffin as his album bombs. It's a brilliant setup for what is to come.
