It had been a long night already and her shift had only started an hour ago. She hated night shifts but probably hated morning shifts even more. This was her fourth shift in a row and she had another one the following night. She could almost hear her mom yelling at her to take better care of herself. âKatie, new patient in bed 3 once youâre finished with bed 6,â she could hear from outside of the room and she exhaled an inaudible yet heavy sigh. âOkay Miss Mulligan, please remember to take these twice a day, otherwise we will be having that lunch date,â she said with a smile as she handed discharge papers and prescriptions over to the older woman, wishing her a goodnight and then grabbing the new chart waiting for her. Her eyebrow rose as she recognized the name and knocked on the door before entering, â5 times in 2 weeks, do you like our ER that much?â she asked with a polite smile as she leveled hazel hues on the patient sitting in the bed. She grabbed some hand sanitizer and rubbed her hands together before turning to face them again, âwhat brings you here again?â
The only way Sutton had thought of to battle the nightmares were micronaps. Just resting her eyes would be enough to get the rest her body so desperately needed without replaying the memories that she knew were going to start all over again the second she let her guard down. This master plan of hers wasnât working, but she refused to accept defeat. Her eyes were closing again when the door to her room opened. Jumping a bit, Suttonâs eyes snapped open as another woman entered the room. Honestly, until she had mentioned the fact Sutton was in the ER two weeks ago, the mechanic forgot about her brotherâs stint in surgery. Snorting softly, Sutton picked at the peeling tape around one of her fingers. âTo be fair I was just visiting last time,â Her voice was wistful, because honestly she would do anything to just be visiting this time. âOh you know, the usual. A one sided alley fight...â
maddoxxhartâ:
Suttonâs voice responding to Maddox, honestly, had him a bit overwhelmed. There was a noise that comes from his mouth that he doesnât recognize as his own and itâs some sort of sigh of relief mixed with a desperate plea for her to stay awake. He doesnât really have any words at the moment so instead of saying anything, he rubbed the back of her hand with his thumb, rough with wear and tear from the shop. Maddox knew that she needed time and space, she needed to heal, but all he wanted to do was hold her in their now shared bed with Goose at their feet. He wanted to protect her from whatever fucked up piece of shit did this to her and although he has his suspicions, she is the only one that can confirm or deny such a thing.Â
Heâd had plenty of time to ponder over the facts in the waiting room. Maddoxâs phone had died hours ago, after not getting to charge it while he waited up, unable to let the phone leave his sight. Then he was using it to keep people updated on Suttonâs status. Between the Club and her family who mostly stuck around but every once in a while someone had to run to Suttonâs to let out Goose â who from the stories from those that visited himâ was not pleased with the confusion. Maddox had gone home for a change of clothes and for some things for Sutton, not even thinking about a phone charger at the time but without it, his mind wandered all over Godâs green Earth, searching for answers he may never have.
Maddox shrugged at Sutton, still a bit stunned by her waking up to his voice. His eyes drifted up at the clock and by the image of night again outside the window, he shrugged again. âTwelve hours? Something like that? Weâve been taking turns checking on Goose,â he replied, trying to give her the answers she was looking for. He knew it had to be confusing and no one was quite sure if Sutton would remember the incident but by her sarcastic joke, he reckons that she does remember. Maddoxâs hair stood on end on the back of his neck. His heart hope that she hadnât remembered anything, his head told him that without her knowing, Maddox and Sutton and the Club wonât get their revenge that they so rightfully deserve.Â
His opposite hand reaches out to move stray hairs from her face, still caked with matted blood and frizzed out from moving her here and there. Maddox gives her a faint smile, even though he wants to tell her that her joke isnât funny and itâs really fucked that she would say it in the first place. But he knew she was trying to make him feel better because while she looked really bad with the settling bruising and stitches, Maddox knew he looked tired and worn, like heâd gone to battle and lost himself while he was there. âSutâ youâre safe now. Weâre not gonna let anyone hurt you. No one but your parents and your brothers and I are allowed back here,â he paused, because honestly, he wasnât originally allowed back but the Chambers had made quick work of telling the doctors that that was unacceptable. âNot âtil you you say so.â
Maddox sighed again, his eyes tracing over her every feature, thankful that heâs able to look at her again, even when she looked like this. âWho did this to you, Sut?â he asked, hoping he didnât already know the answer. Maddox didnât want to know that it was Marshall and he had been right. He didnât want to know that he was going to have to face the people all over again that got her tied up with a psychopath who tried to kill her because they were still his family and his friends. And yet, Maddox would go to the ends of the earth for Sutton and thereâs no fucking doubt in his mind that heâs prepared to do just that.
Rough fingers against torn skin registered in her mind first. And as the bleary vision from not opening her eyes for so long cleared, the lightning bolt that mirrored her own hand came into focus first. safe, the emotion replaced the typical fear that had been hitting her when her eyes opened, and it was all surrounded by that tattoo. But in this room? It was everything. The singular unmarred finger on her hand reached up to trace a jerky line across the inside of Maddoxâs wrist as she tried to speak around the pain. âYou havenât slept have you?â It was a question she knew better than to ask. If the roles were reversed, Sutton would be sitting in that chair, not moving until she saw his eyes open. Refusing to do anything else. But God the timing was so shitty; every time they had a break they were hit with something else, and honestly, thinking about what the universe would pull next made her want to vomit.Â
An instant reaction to the feel of Maddoxâs hand in her hair is to lean into the touch; to press herself into the rough touch as much as possible. As if that hand on her face was the only thing keeping her steady. However, the bruises and still healing gashes on her head were getting in the way; and the soft contented sigh that typically followed her hair being played with, was replaced with a soft whimper as she was reminded of injuries she forgot about. She believed Maddox when he said that she was safe, but not because of the hospital rules. âThe rest of the club can come backâŠâ She mumbled, still staring at the lightning bolt on Maddoxâs knuckle. âI should probably tell the Thanes...the uh, uhm.â Why couldnât she think of the word?
A wave of nausea hit her as she cycled through side effects and other issues that followed head injuries while she desperately tried to piece together what she was thinking of. âThe information I got...it was bogus,â She couldnât remember the word information, but suddenly the voice of a particular ginger asshole cycled through her mind. âYou were never good at auditionsâ. Was this history repeating itself? It better fuckinâ not be. She wouldnât allow this to set her back. Not again. Broken bones wouldnât get in the way of the patch sheâs been building up for.Â
But all her resolve went away when Maddox asked who did it. Suddenly the stale dehydrated feeling of screaming was back in her throat. The eyes, dark with alcohol soaked anger, reflecting the flickering street light the town hadnât fixed in four months. It all came back, and suddenly she was gripping Maddoxâs hand as tightly as she could. âThink we both know,â Sutton finally said, fighting the feeling of a sandpaper tongue. âAnd Iâm sure heâll be back.â If anyone else was in the room with her, she wouldâve passed off the skip in her voice as a product of her dry mouth, but Maddox could read her like a book. He could tell she was scared no matter how hard she tried to hide it. âCanât really get away from him.â

brentthxmsonâ:
Suttonâs quip about murder sat in Brentâs head for a moment. The fact itâs so nonchalant with everything thatâs happened recently. It wasnât something that bothered him, but it did remind him the kind of town he was living in.
Brent grinned. âDo I even want to ask what the hard way was?âÂ
Leaning against the counter as a few other mechanics walked by to get to their stations and start working, Sutton laughed and raised an eyebrow. âMaybe...â Shrugging her shoulder a little bit, Sutton waved at one of the other prospects before her eyes returned to Brentâs âIt generally was me walkinâ to his place and hot wiring his truck. And maybe sending his girlfriend of the week a few less than flattering childhood photos...â

2. What traits or talents does your character have that would make them a good/bad member of an MC?
Suttonâs attention to detail and commitment to a cause makes her a good member of the MC. Sheâll put her all into something, especially since she has her eyes set on the Fixer position and sheâs willing - and wanting - to learn from Andy. However, her stubbornness can be a setback; it always has. While as a prospect sheâs learned to do as sheâs told, if she thinks that thereâs an easier or better way to get a job done, sheâll most likely choose her way over anyone elses and think of the consequences later.
13. Have you ever done drugs? If so, why did you choose to not continue/why did you continue to?
Suttonâs only ever smoked weed. And while she doesnât hate it, she doesnât love the feeling of being high. Her personality at some points can be considered high strung. She likes being in control of things around her, and most of the time she has to be actively doing something. So sheâll definitely smoke if sheâs with friends or something like that, but she rarely does it on her own.Â
14. Honest feelings about Maddox.
The obvious answer is that she loves Maddox. She always has. One of her closest friends who helped her rebuild her life after her dance dreams crumpled on the worn floorboards of a stage in Alabama. Even if they werenât together, Sutton would still without question say she loved him. Theyâve been through a lot together, and they started this whole patching in process together. She just wishes heâd lean on her more rather than retreating into himself when things get bad.Â
26. What is a plot that youâd like to do but havenât explored yet?
Honestly, i kinda want to try and get her back into dance? And not just teaching like she is now. Either that or like, something with her brothers. I said in Suttonâs bio that she's more into low level revenge at the moment; minor inconveniences and destruction of property. But if one of her brothers gets killed then thatâll change real quick.Â
nike-alvesâ:
Lettie felt deep satisfaction at Suttonâs backtracking. She knew that wasnât something she should be feeling, but at this point she rarely got to control things in her life. At least she could control what her friends found appropriate to say to her. She wished Sutton had apologized too, but she wasnât going to push the girl for it. It was enough that she recognized the issue. âItâs been a busy couple of weeks for us,â She replied, knowing Sutton had been gone through her own terrible time. It didnât help that she was dating Maddox and Lettie wasnât sure he would ever want to be around her again. She felt it was better to avoid than attempt to bridge the gap.
Of course Lettie saw the people staring at her, she had been trying to force herself to stop noticing them. Obviously, she was struggling. âThey think they got it down to a max of two years. Thereâs a chance it could go down further, but itâs looking like Iâm going to serve some time.â She had already asked Desmond and Andy to take care of her home while she was gone. She was pretty sure Desmond was going to have fun working on the house too. âWe can get coffee, if you want.â
âIt definitely has.â With everything going on club wise on Suttonâs end, with her house on Lettieâs end and just the general chaos of living in Olympus, it was difficult to find even a moment to stop. âThings are changing...and if this is the new norm, well this is going to be a weird time.â If this war kept escalating Sutton wasnât sure sheâd be able to keep up. It was getting harder and harder to breathe. Their plans were getting wilder and Sutton wasnât sure she agreed with everything that was happening right now. But Lettie didnât know that. No one needed to know that until the patch was safely on her back.Â
Running a hand through her hair, and flashing Lettie a smile, the mechanic nodded. âLetâs do it. My treat.â The walk across the way to the coffee place didnât take too long and pretty soon the two women were sliding into their space in line. âSo,â Sutton said, hands in her pockets as they stood âHeard youâre renovating a house. Howâs that goinâ?â She asked. Shoulders tensing as she something in the corner of her eye caught her attention before she locked eyes with her friend. Exhaling just slightly she gave Lettie another smile. âAlways thought construction was a good way to clear your head,â

7. Youâre going to NOLA for a weekend of fun, who are you taking?
Sutton 100% is taking girl gang. Thereâs nothing more fun to her than just going out on a weekend trip with her friends just forgetting about all the drama of Olympus for just a few hours.Â
15. Is your character loyal? How far would they go to prove that they are?
Oh for sure. Sheâs loyal to a fault most times. I think her prospect test kind of represented how far sheâd go to prove her loyalty to the club. She honestly will go so far as putting her life on the line for those who sheâs loyal to.Â
22. Does your character feel worthy of love? Of hate?
Yes. To both. She feels worthy of - and desperately wants - love. Because Sutton loves with so much of her being, she wants it to be reciprocated. But she also knows that her personality is a lot on a good day, and that many times thatâll lead to people disliking her.Â
Happy (early) birthday, Lindsey! xoxo, Suttox.
rowanthaneâ:
It takes Rowan longer to get to Suttonâs room than she would like to admit. Normally, sheâs on the ball, quick to make her way to any situation involving anyone in a Primordial cut, prospects included â especially Maddox and Sutton. But, honestly, sheâs been taking more and more days off as the year comes to a close, eager to spend time with Benny and Andy, or busy dealing with the trial and the curve ball life has decided to hit Lettie in the fucking face with. So she doesnât get the inside scoop on Suttonâs case, not having been at the hospital when she was brought in â instead, she finds out the same time as everyone else. After she knows, though, it doesnât take her long to make her way to the hospital and to her friendâs room. Sheâs familiar with Suttonâs brothers, at least the oneâs who wear the patch and exchanges something that might be considered pleasantries with them if not for the fact that Suttonâs beating is hanging over them, making the environment anything but pleasant, before knocking once and walking in.
She flashes a small smile to the little boy as dashes out of his auntâs room, waiting until the door closes behind him again before she crosses the room fully. A frown tugs down on her lips as she takes in Suttonâs appearance, her insides twisting uncomfortably and her palms itching with anger and Rowan thinks to herself that she canât fucking wait to see what kind of price the club makes the person responsible for this pay. Suttonâs voice has her brows unforrowing, the anger melting away momentarily and she lifts a hand to wave off the brunetteâs concern. âTheyâre no problem,â sheâs quick to reassure her, âweâre used to this kinda thing by now.â She remembers her own stay in the hospital and how Andy had terrified some poor night nurse who had tried to sneak in for a quick bed check without turning the light on, taking them both by surprise. âHowâre you feeling?â Rowan takes it upon herself to pluck the chart from the place it hangs at the foot of Suttonâs bed before moving to sit in the ugly green chair at her bedside. It isnât until sheâs flicked the folder open that she realizes it could be an invasion of privacy and Sutton might not want her to look at it, but itâs what she always does when one of her people end up in someone elseâs care, quick to scrutinize every action of whatever poor doctor ends up with them. âYou mind?â She asks, brows raised as she lifts the documents.
From her half sitting up vantage point - it was painful, but being awake was painful at this point - Sutton watched the blonde cross the room. There was something in Rowanâs face an emotion too distant for Sutton to pinpoint from her spot in the room. Her friendâs movements made the prospect tilt her head to the side, and then instantly regret it. God maybe she had hurt her neck after all⊠Sighing, she mumbled âadd it to the list,â to herself before her focus returned to her friend, whoâs nonchalance in regards to her brothers gave her a sense of relief. âHeard Jace mention somethinâ about schmoozing with the nurse on duty and thatâs just a recipe for disaster.â A small smile quirked the corner of her mouth at the thought, as Rowan settled into the chair with her file. âThanks for cominâ...I know shitâs kinda haywire right now, but I appreciate it.â She really did. The amount of people coming in here to check on her, or offering to help however they could, made her forget about the pain if just for a second.Â
âYou know that scene in the Lion King? The stampede? I feel like Mufasa.â The laugh that the thought rocked out of her chest sent yet another shutter of pain through her, as if to accent her point. Bruised fingers that werenât taped together clutched the hem of the blanket around her waist, waiting desperately for the wave of pain to pass before she shook her head at the blonde doctors question. âNah, go for it. Uh..your dad came in here a bit ago, askinâ some questions too.â Mouth suddenly dry, she swallowed a little bit, trying to form words around the lump in her throat. âThings are startinâ to come back.â The mechanic knew Rowan would have questions - Sutton would in her position - so she was just waiting for her friend to start asking.

30. When frightened, will they resort to âfightâ or âflightâ?
Almost always fight. Suttonâs brothers felt like they had to protect their little sister their entire lives. But because of that, they really never gave her the chance to defend herself. So now that sheâs a grown up and on her own, she throws herself headfirst into a fight without even considering the dangers.Â
25. What is their biggest flaw?
Sheâs a fucking stubborn ass. If someone tries to tell her she canât do something sheâs going to do it. Sutton is so stubborn in fact, that when her doctor in college told her that she needs to not dance for at least eight months after getting her cast off to regain strength in her ankle, she turned around and joined the pep squad that afternoon. She still refuses to say that sheâs to blame for the fact that she has a weak ankle now (even though she 100% is).Â
16. Are they religious?
Not really. Suttonâs parents are known to pray for things, and sometimes her mom will go to an evening bible study class, but they never really went to mass with their children. She does believe in a higher power though.Â
56. What do they smell like? Why do they smell like this? (Is it the things theyâre around or a perfume they wear?)
Answered!
23. Do they get lonely easily?Â
Not particularly. Sutton loves people and loves socializing, but she also appreciates her alone time, especially since how many people were in her house at one time growing up. Also when sheâs feeling lonely sheâll typically go over to her parents house or take Goose across town to Noahâs place so she can be surrounded by her nieces and nephew.
