Even though The long way home isn't finished it's a masterpiece and I find myself rereading it again.

God please, please i need to know this, it's a little too dark but am i the only one who gets all the Kuvira and maybe even a little bit of Su vibes from the song "Black Honey" by Thrice?? Or maybe an angst, containing both.. but am i wrong?? No.. no its definitely written for Kuvira..

Ah, at first I wanted to leave it there but then I believe curiosity got the best of me. Please do ignore my ask if this is an uncomfortable ask for you, i just wanted to know, why is it exactly that you are afraid to finish it? Is it because the story is simply so good and you dont want to see it end? Or is it perhaps because you feel like it won't please you, the writer, enough rather than pleasing the readers? I really dont want it to seem like i am being pushy or disrespectful or prying in by saying these because this is not my place, not at all but it's just yours were truly the best writing I've ever seen. Im even speaking outside of this fandom. You really are good and it amazes me so i hope if not this one, you can start writing literally anything else one day.

Anger

I can’t remember if this was an ask or not, but this has been sitting in my WIPs for months, and i finally finished it.

They’re alone in the practice yard, and Kuvira needs to spend her pent up energy and frustration. She’s beyond pissed that Suyin won’t do anything to help the Earth Kingdom, and she feels like she’s being treated like some sort of naive child. So maybe she hits a little harder than usual, doesn’t hold back as she and Suyin spar. Normally, they draw a crowd, but tonight, it’s just them. 

“Spirits, Kuvira,” Suyin says as she narrowly dodges the shard of metal Kuvria sent flying at her head. “Are you still angry?”

“It doesn’t matter.” She won’t be distracted. Her little schoolgirl crush, which has been growing into something frighteningly more than a crush, is dampened now by her anger. “Let’s just spar.” She bounces on the balls of her feet, her fists raised as she prepares to dodge Suyin’s counter attacks. 

“No, Kuvira, you’re clearly upset.” Suyin drops her stance, coming to stand in front of Kuvira. “I thought we went over this. It would be wrong to push our views on others.”

“More wrong than letting our nation fall into chaos?” Kuvira glares at her. “We could help them, Su. We could make this right.”

“Oh, Kuvira, I know you believe that.” Suyin steps in close to her, much too close, really, but that line had been blurred in the last couple of years. “But we would be seen as invaders.”

“You can’t invade your own nation,” Kuvira says. “Those are our people out there suffering, and we have the resources to help!”

The cool fingers on her cheek have Kuvira leaning into Suyin’s touch. “It’s not our place, sweetheart.”

Kuvira pulled back away from Suyin’s hand. “Don’t call me that.”

“What?”

“You can’t just say things like that to try and ply me.”

Suyin’s brows furrow, and she looks legitimately hurt. “That’s not what I’m doing.”

“Isn’t it? I tell you about my concerns, and you just brush them off like I’m some naive little girl!”

“Kuvira, that’s not true! You know I value your opinion.”

“No you don’t. I’m just here for your amusement.”

Suyin reaches for her again, taking Kuvira’s hands in her face. “That could never be true. I love you.”

“You say that, but you don’t mean it.” Kuvira has never felt included, never felt like she was part of the family. She is never in family portraits, never introduced as part of the family. To outsiders, she is just Suyin’s student, her protege. She is not a Beifong.

“Of course I mean it. Don’t you know that?” One of her hands trailed down Kuvira’s neck and shoulder to rest on her chest, over her heart. “How can you not know that?”

“You keep me here, like a caged bird,” she whispers, her anger fading, a deep longing and frustration taking its place. Suyin’s hand is too hot against her skin. “I’ve never even left Zaofu except to go after Avatar Korra. I’ve always done what you wanted from me. I’ve always been perfect and obedient for you. And now I ask you for one thing, and you just shut it down.”

“I want you to be fulfilled,” Suyin says carefully. “I want you to be happy. But I want you to be careful and safe.”

“I want to help them. I want to fix this, and I know I can do it. We can do it together.”

“I believe you could, but I also believe it would cost too much.”

“Is there a cost too great if it helps people?”

“Yes, when the cost is your integrity. I know myself, Kuvira. I know I can’t be given that sort of power and temptation.”

“And you think I’m like that, too. That I would let it corrupt me.” Kuvira pulls away with something akin to disgust. “I’m not like that. I’m not weak.”

“Kuvira, I’m not weak for knowing my limitations.” Suyin’s eyes narrow, and Kuvira thinks she’s so incredibly beautiful. “You are too young to know your limits, yet. I made many mistakes when I was younger, and I have learned from them. You haven’t had that chance yet.”

“I’m old enough to know that ignoring this is selfish.”

“Is that what you think of me? That I’m being selfish?”

“Yeah, that’s what I think.” She lifts her chin, holding her ground even as Suyin’s eyes turn cold and stony.

“If I was selfish, I wouldn’t have pushed you away when you kissed me last year,” Suyin snaps, and Kuvira grits her teeth as the shame and embarrassment once again flush her cheeks. 

“You said we wouldn’t ever talk about that!” It had been a mistake, and Kuvira had regretted it, for it had changed their relationship forever, damaged it irreparably. Perhaps it had even led to this very moment. 

“I wasn’t going to, but you’re trying to make me seem like someone who only cares for myself when you know that’s not true.”

“So you’re bringing it up now, to what? To prove I’m wrong? To prove you do care about me?” She snorts and shakes her head, arms crossed over her chest. “All you do is hurt me.”

“I’m sorry you feel that way, Kuvira. But you’re not being mature about this.”

“Because you’re always so mature. As if we didn’t all see you fight your own sister over something that happened thirty years ago!”

“My issues with Lin have nothing to do with this!”

“I don’t know, I think I’d call it a pattern of behavior. Wouldn’t you?”

“Kuvira, that is enough! I am done discussing this. We are not taking Zaofu forces to Ba Sing Se, and that is final.”

Kuvira practically snarls as she turns on her hell and stalks off the practice yard. Who the hell does Su think she is! Some supreme fucking being who gets to decide who is and isn’t worth help? 

She heads straight to her room, quite literally bumping into Junior on her way.

“Oh, sorry, Kuvira. I didn’t see you….Are you all right?”

She looks him over, really taking him in. She knows he’s had a crush on her for years now, and a thought starts to form in her mind. 

“How would you like to really piss off your mom?”

I got into this.. well addicting mess because of one of my friends and then i found your writings. I know, I've read from the old asks you got that you're not planning to continue your ff at least not anytime soon but i just really needed to tell you that it was THE BEST suvira fiction I've ever read. Perhaps its because i haven't gotten the chance to read many of those yet but the way you wrote the characters (especially) and the storyline.. it was, for me, as if i was watching new released episodes of the show rather than a fanfiction. Everything about them was just so on point and i enjoyed it so much and ah.. i think, thank you for that. I understand your decision about continuing the fiction and i just hope i can find something as good.. i dont even know if it's still an active.. ship..? (im new to all this, sorry..) but yeah. You really are the best. Just wanted to say that. I would also really appreciate it if you had any fictions in mind that you would want to share and you really enjoyed too

i am so glad you enjoy the fic!! I want to finish it, I really do, but I have seen a lot of backlash against the ship lately, and I am sort of afraid to finish it tbh

i know that you’re the author of the most amazing suvira fanfics there is. i read long way home and literally burst out in tears it was beautiful and i honestly read all 23 chapters a little too fast. you not writing and continuing your fanfics is honestly a crime because you’re amazing but i get how it can feel uninspiring sometimes or how you can feel unmotivated. i was wondering if there’s a possibility for you to continue some suvira fanfics?🥺

i’ve lost most of my drive for this ship, so i don’t really think there’s much chance of me continuing The Long Way Home, i’m sorry

I just jumped on this ship recently. Really love your stories. Would love to see more of Mafia and Spy stories. Also, a story about what kind of reaction K has when S wants her to be a girlfriend, or to join in and they become a 3 some. Like she knows Su's done it plenty before and isn't sure if she'll move on from her the way she has from the other girls. Insecure worried Kubota is good angst.
