connivance? | taylor & suzy
Taylor had, of course, observed the redhead’s ‘casual smart’ choice of wardrobe by the time she’d made her way over. Observation was something she did well, even when she was pretending to be deep in concentration over a Sudoku puzzle. (It wasn’t a very hard puzzle for her at all, but other people didn’t need to know that.) There was a hint of confidence in the way Suzy walked, but there was also a look in her eye-she was going to be fishing. As far as Taylor could tell, Suzy was still reeling from her last scandalous action, and was probably hoping to get something out of her to use for herself.
Suzy was certainly welcome to try. Taylor knew better, though, and there was really nobody in Sawyer better at making use of others than she was. It struck Taylor as funny, really, when she thought about it; nobody ever realized that she was behind what was going on. That was also a work of precision and caution, of course. If anyone ever figured her out, she would be in a far more insane position than Suzy had been in. But that was precisely why she didn’t get too close to anyone.
Except maybe Noah, but that cutie didn’t really count.
“Hi!” Taylor cheerfully responded as Suzy settled by her. “Actually, there wasn’t much to do at home anyway,” she laughed. “I do have a few ideas though.”
Suzy rolled her eyes. "Yeah, that's Sawyer for you. It's a bit of an occupational hazard, if you will." Her eyes traveled across the table, noting the half-finished Sudoku. Taylor was a tricky one to figure out, that was for sure- usually, Suzy found it easy to slot the citizens of Sawyer into neat boxes according to their traits. Very rarely did she come across someone who defied sorting, and hovered in the grey area between friend and foe. The two of them were friendly, sure, but there was another side to Taylor-one she only glimpsed occasionally- that made her a true opponent.
Still, she thought, shaking her head slightly and smiling at Taylor, she wasn't here to analyze the girl. They were here to chat and plan a rocking party to spice Sawyer up a little. "I have plenty of ideas too!" she said, taking a slurp of her drink and relaxing further into her chair.
"I mean, obviously, we need to figure out a location. And as far as timing goes... how about Saturday night?" If they could get enough of the town involved, this party could be the event of the year. Maybe they should put a notice in the Sentinel? It's not like they had enough people in the town itself for there to be a serious gatecrasher situation.
An idea hit her and she jolted upright, a grin spreading across her face.
"Oh! We should theme it!"
