finally saw ep the musical. and it’s very modern…
#strrambles#not that it’s a bad thing or anything i enjoyed it and the songs are nice#i’m just quite surprised at how much of odsys’ characteristics were removed in favour of being at all appealing for the modern eye#anyway i know it’s a different story altogether dealing w different shit but#not to discredit him by comparing him to ntflx#but it feels sort of like when ntflx adapted d/mc into the anime in that it’s a different creature altogether#parading in the skin of its predecessor#and i’m not saying epc is like that since it’s not trying to be a continuation/retelling of the hmeric epic#but it feels like this to ME in the way i feel personally a little bit wronged BUT this does not mean objectively adaptations are bad#and als epc was a good musical anyway i promise i loved it lots#i am just. afraid that when a modern adaptation of vrgls aen happens#(bc it will happen sooner or later#now that there has been a successful indie retelling of another epic)#that they mutate the aen to a completely different story#which (i must mention) won’t suck objectively but it will suck to ME#i MUST REITERTE textual conversations are great and good BUT i sometimes am just an annoying bitch
