Instagram made as a look book. This one is used for the event.
Pictures taken from my coat in an influencer style. I asked this guy if he could help me photograph the coat in an influencer way. This is the end result. The show the images, I am going to make my own intagram, like I’m this blogger guy.
Photoshoot inspiration! I want to do my shoot in a blogger/influencer style like these influencers.
The doll I am going to use for the event. I think it really fits the style of the coat.
Fitted the coat on my little brother. It looked really nice on him. Only need to finish some details.
To check the fit.
Trials (with the real fabric and one time with calico) how many stitch lines I want. I’ve decided to do two of them next to each other with 7mm in between. I’ve used 100% cotton, animal friendly threats to keep the coat as vegan as possible. The color of my threats is darker, I wanted this to show that I really did my best on sewing as straight as possible. Also I think it is a nice design aspect.
All pattern pieces dyed and dried!!! Now lets start sewing them together.
All my pattern pieces, dyed. Each color looked really different, but that was because the fabric still wet. I let it dry for one night.
First pattern piece. It looks so nice!!! The color is really nice divided over the pattern piece, no stains at all!!
Lets start cooking my final fabric! This is how I did it:
1. I made 40 cups of coffee (measured water, coffee everything)
2. I boiled the coffee until it started cooking.
3. I added 3/4 fabric pieces (based on weight, every time I did the same amount of fabric weight into the pan)
4. I continued cooking it for 15 min.
5. I added an extra 10 cups of coffee
6. switched off the gas, let it rest for 15 more min.
7. took it out, put it underneath the shower with ice cold water for about 5 min until it was completely clean.
8. Hang it out and let it try for one night.
I repeated this several times. Everytime I added 10 cups of coffee to make sure the coffee did not turn too old. At the end I had like 100 cups of coffee.
For this experiment I used fair trade coffee to make sure my coat would be as vegan as possible.
Some extra. Again, ingredients, receipts are in my fabric book or explained in a earlier post.
Some extra trials. In my fabric book I wrote down all the ingredients, how much water, the cooking time etc.
