he really shouldn’t be attracted to his best friend’s younger sister, they all grew up together for christ sake but, he couldn’t help it. over that years, she’s really grown up and at some point he stopped seeing her and his best friend’s dorky sister and starter seeing her as his best friend’s hot sister. he was so focused on his friend’s sister, who was in the kitchen, he hadn’t realized he lost the video game they were playing until the other male spoke up. ‘ huh, oh yeah. you win, i’m gonna go get something to drink.’ he excused himself, making his way to the kitchen, stopping next to the younger female. ‘ so – uh, there’s a party tonight, you wanna go with me?’ he says is in a low voice, not wanting her brother to hear. if he found out grayson was trying to get with his sister, he’d probably kill him.

avery almost always found herself hanging around her brother and his friends when she was alone. mostly because she got too bored sitting around in her room all day on her laptop. — stiring a spoon full of sugar in her coffee, avery scrolled through her twitter feed, waiting for a text back from her friends so she could finally get out of the house. the girls attention was quickly averted at the sound of another voice. ‘ oh — is my brother going or something ? ’ her eyebrows furrowed together soon after she spoke, confused at his question.

“uh, you’re definitely NOT supposed to be here.” trent snuck up on what he assumed was a fan, because they didn’t have a backstage pass around their neck and had his band t-shirt on. “but i’m impressed that you got past security so i won’t say anything.” he says in a hushed tone, an amused smirk gracing his features, “you wanna take pictures or something?? i’m a little sweaty but…” he figured that if they went through all this trouble to get backstage they deserved a souvenir of some sort.

avery's head whipped around quickly, her heart beating eratically in her chest at the sudden presence behind her. "uh — actually, my friend snook me in here because she's obsessed with some band who are playing. but i've lost her." the girl slid her hand through her knotted waves, a defeated sigh falling from her lips as she turned to face the male, giving up all hope of finding her friend at this point. "why would i want a pic — oh !! you must be one of the band members she freaks out about."

“i was going to be going all over the world, without you. i thought a break would be easier for the both of us.” he’s good at keeping a pretty emotionless expression on her face, at least he thinks he is. “would that be another assumption of yours ?”

“ well it wasn't easier on me. ” avery's words came out blunt as she grew more tired of the bickering as the seconds ticked by. “ i wasn't assuming anything. you pretty much just said there isn't going to be a next time. ”

At the immediate feeling of someone touching him, lip jumped. And it wasn’t a cute little baby jump. His arm snatched away from her grasp within seconds and his eyes were wide as he tried to scan over who exactly was waking him up. Once he recognized his surroundings, the blond shifted and pushed his face into the corner of the couch. “I’ll do it in twenty minutes.” He mumbled, not entirely sure what he was agreeing to.

Avery let out a short sigh, her eyes drooping with the tiredness of being woken up quickly showing on her features. "I don't want you to do anything, other than getting into bed. Your back is gonna get hurt if you sleep there all night." She nudged his arm slighly, in an attempt to keep the sleepy boy awake and concious of what she was saying.

“no, my wanting a break meant that i didn’t think either of us needed the strain of keeping labels in-tact while i was going to be away for months on end.” in an angry fumble over his words, calum raises an eyebrow at her. “who said anything about a next time ?”

“ no labels means no relationship. if you wanted to be with me you wouldn't have called for the break. ” avery rolled her eyes as her fingers tucked themselves into the pockets of her baggy cardigan. her eyebrow mirroring his and raising slighly. “ it's a figure of speech. evidently there isn't going to be a next time . ”
