AQENTDANVERS // DANVERS, ALEX.
alex hadn’t seen maggie since they were separated. she had a large quantity of deo agents to direct and maggie had the ccpd to assist. she had every intention of finding the other to make sure that she was okay and talk about the – the other thing, but alex had barely stopped for a breath before she was whisked off to the hospital to get her ear checked out and, after that? alex had chickened out and basically hid from the reality of what had trainspired between the two. it was what led her to the alien bar, a place that had become her own fortress of solitude, nursing a third glass of whiskey. it took her longer than usual to notice that the detective in question had just walked in through the door. turning, alex stumbled a little as she stood up from the stool she had perched on and shuffled before placing a hand on the counter to try and nonchalantly steady herself. “thank god, you’re – you’re okay,” alex started. she then backtracked a little. “you are – you’re okay, right? please say you’re okay. i mean, i hope – i hope you… you are.”
“danvers,” she calls for the other as soon as she walks into the bar. the woman sitting at the bar -- her leather jacket, her short auburn hair, and the glass of whiskey on the counter in front of her? there is no doubt in maggie’s heart, that’s alex danvers. a smile tugs at her lips as the woman stumbles out of her stool, she finds it cute. “i knew i’d find you here.” well, she hoped, really. a pang of worry had stung her chest after the days went by without a word from alex. it felt as if someone had squeezed her heart in their hand. “alex, i’m okay. i am,” she responds, shortening their distances with quick strides. “i only broke one finger so i call it a success.” she embellishes the tasteless joke by showing off the broken little finger’s cast.
“how are you?” she asks, unable to stop herself from reaching out to touch; fingers curling around the edge of the other’s jacket, tugging at it softly. the kiss they shared after a few beers remain vivid in her mind, but she waits for the perfect time to mention it. “nothing seems to bebroken,” she observes as her eyes skim over alex’s body, searching for visible injuries. “--- are we okay?”
