In a world where we begin to demand more equality and rights, more hate and disdain is going to follow. This is not me siding with either candidate, because I truly believe in keeping my political opinions to myself, but it is still the reality.
Many people are set in their ways, and are not willing to open up to the world of change and acceptance that so many of us are currently fighting for. The reality is, that with this situation, we are approaching a time that our candidates are going to be more and more divided within their beliefs. Both candidates will express beliefs that we resonate with, it’s just a matter of which we can relate to more.
Although Trump presents himself as an unaccepting, racist, sexist, all other bad words human being, his empire employs more women in managerial and CEO positions than almost all others in the world, and he is the one that personally chooses to hire them. This shows that he is not as sexist as the media portrays him, and that although his viewpoints on immigrants and minorities are unacceptable, the media portrays these candidates in the way that they want them to be seen, without all of the facts.
Hilary is no doubt more tolerant, but also has stood behind her husband in more times than one for various allegations such as sexual assault cases. Although these reports and accusations have not been against her, she has still been more than supportive towards her husband brushing them off as no big deal. There is good and bad within everyone.
Instead of rioting and crying about the results of the election, realize that we can not change the outcome, but we can change what we can do about it. We can choose to continue speaking up for what we believe in beyond the results of this election to ensure that the only change from here on out is positive change. In the end, the president still has an army of people behind them to aid in approving decisions, and our voices speaking out is the only way to ensure that they are heard.
Proposed law changes will hurt us, they will effect us, but if we let them tear us down without acting there is no way to stop it.
“We are only as strong as we are united, as weak as we are divided” -J.K.Rowling
