You meet a man on the Oregon Trail. He tells you his name is Terry. You laugh and tell him, “That’s a girl’s name!” Terry shoots you. You have died of dissin’ Terry.
How did you make me read this with my own eyes.

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding" (Proverbs 3:5, NIV).
Are you facing a situation that seems like it has no logical solution? Sometimes we have to turn our minds off, stop trying to figure it all out, and stop overanalyzing and researching everything. When you don’t see the answer in the natural realm, it’s time to stop leaning on your own understanding and choose to trust God.
Sometimes our minds can be a distraction to our “inner sensor.” Our minds can allow fear and dread to distract us from what God is speaking to our hearts. That’s why the Scripture says that we aren’t to lean on our own understanding. We have to take time to shut off the distractions, shut off fear, and listen to what’s going on inside of us where God speaks. That’s where faith rises up. That’s where all of the sudden you’ll feel a spark of hope even when things look impossible.
Today, no matter what it looks like in the natural, choose to lean on Him. Trust that He has favor in store for your future. Trust that something good is about to happen. As you lean on Him with your mind, soul and strength, you’ll see His goodness and break through to new levels in every area of your life!
The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not be in want. He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, he restores my soul… Psalm 23:1-3, ESV.
God wants to restore your soul today. Your soul is your mind, your will and your emotions. You are a three-part being: you are a spirit—that’s the part of you that lives for eternity, you have a soul, and you live in a body while you’re here on earth.
Your soul is where you may store hurt, disappointments or brokenness from the past. When God restores your soul, He brings His healing power to those broken places and makes you whole again. And when God restores you, He makes you better off than you were before. He makes you stronger, more alive, and more loving.
I love the picture painted in this verse. Notice that He leads us beside quiet waters. He makes us lie down in green pastures. This is a picture of rest. When we are resting in Him, He is able to do a work in our lives. He is able to bring that restoration. Don’t let the busyness of life keep you going so fast that you don’t stop and rest. Take time to be still before the Lord and let Him restore your soul.
“…He sends forth [rains], and they overwhelm the land or transform it.” (Job 12:15, AMP)
Sometimes on the news, the weather person will announce that we’re under a Flash Flood Warning. That means conditions are ripe for possible flooding. Water could get out of its normal boundaries. It could overflow and increase in such a way that drainage and bayous are overwhelmed.
Just like that weather person, I’m here to announce to you today that you’re under a Flash Flood Warning. Conditions are just right. You’ve honored God. You’ve been faithful. You’ve passed the test. Now God is saying, “There’s about to be a flood, but not with water. You’re going to see a flood of My goodness, a flood of opportunity, a flood of healing, a flood of good breaks to where you are overwhelmed with God’s favor. It’s beyond your expectations. It puts you into overflow.” Today, get ready! Get your expectancy up. Be on the lookout for His goodness because a flood of favor is coming your way!
