So there you have it...

The end of adult Tumblr. Just like I feared barely two weeks ago, @staff gives all adult blogs the finger. A blog which I have curated since 2011. A blog that has allowed me to get in touch with more people than I can count. A blog that has allowed me to answer questions from so many people. Even a mother who was worried about finding my blog open on her (adult) daughter’s iPad.

Never mind all the sex workers who use Tumblr as a place to generate income. Never mind all the adult artists who use Tumblr as a means of self expression. Never mind all the people who go on Tumblr to converse safely with like-minded individuals. Never mind the people who find relationships here. Never mind the people who find a community here.

In my opinion, what set Tumblr apart from other social networking and blogging platforms, was its tolerance. Now that the tolerance is gone, Tumblr will be just another Wordpress, just another Instagram, just another Twitter. Tumblr will lose its relevance to many. Just another social media platform that bows down to censorship and outdated morality. It makes me sad but it wasn’t unexpected.

So after almost 8 years of blogging and countless hours invested, this will be the end of “Bad girls need good spankings”. Nothing left to do now but to let the queue run dry. No sense in expending more energy on a blog that has until December 17.

So what to do? Stop blogging? No, of course not. Because I saw where Tumblr was headed, I decided to take matters into my own hands. I decided to go to the one place that I know won’t bow down to censorship and outdated morality. My own place. So while this blog may be disappearing, a new one is taking shape here: https://billenkoek.info. Out of reach of Tumblr’s grasp. Paid for out of my own pocket. It will be different, it may have less pictures but it will be mine and you can’t delete it.

So here’s a hearty fuck you, Tumblr. May you sink into irrelevance.
