A Professorâs Mate
Male alpha reader x Yandere omega Zhongli
<-Previous
(Name)'s rut had been a haze of heat, sweat, and Zhongli's intoxicating scent. When he finally regained full consciousness, his body ached in ways he'd never experienced before. His muscles felt sore, his throat dry, and his mind struggling to piece together the last few days.
The first thing he noticed was the weight on his chest. Zhongli lay curled against him, his bare skin pressed flush against (Name)'s, one leg draped possessively over his waist. The omega's face was peaceful in sleep, lips slightly parted, dark lashes casting delicate shadows on his cheeks. And thenâ
He noticed it. The mark.
A deep, purpling bite marred the column of Zhongli's throat, unmistakable in its meaning.
Mated.
(Name)'s stomach lurched.
No. No, no, noâ
He tried to sit up, but the moment he shifted, Zhongli's arm tightened around him, fingers digging into his side with surprising strength. A low, warning hum vibrated against his skin.
"Leaving so soon?" Zhongli murmured, voice thick with sleep and satisfaction. He didn't even open his eyes.
(Name) swallowed hard. "Mr. Zhongli, I- Weâ This isn'tâ"
Zhongli finally lifted his head, golden eyes half-lidded, a lazy smirk playing on his lips. "Zhongli is fine now, don't you think?" The omegaâs golden eyes flickering with amusement. "After all, we've grown... quite familiar.â His hand trailed down (Name)'s abdomen, fingertips brushing over the faint scratches left behind. "You were quite eager."
(Name) flinched. He remembered.
The way Zhongli had arched beneath him, the desperate whimpers, the way his body had welcomed him like they were made for each other. His face burned with shame.
âBut itâs no surprise
"This was a mistake," (Name) choked out. "You're my teacher."
Zhongli's smirk faded. Slowly, he pushed himself up, straddling (Name)'s waist, his expression darkening. "A mistake?" He leaned down, lips brushing (Name)'s ear. "You marked me, and knotted me. Repeatedly. You don't get to call that a mistake."
(Name) shuddered. Zhongli's scent was overwhelming-spiced amber and something sweet, something that made his instincts roar in recognition. Mate. Mine.
But his rational mind screamed louder.
"You- You planned this," (Name) accused, voice trembling. "The dinner, the candles... You induced my rut."
Zhongli didn't deny it. Instead, he traced a finger along (Name)'s jaw, his touch deceptively gentle. "And if I did?" He tilted his head. "This was mean to happen one day, better for it to be with someone that actually loves you."
(Name) recoiled. "You used me."
For a fraction of a second, something dangerous flickered in Zhongli's gaze. Then, he sighed, as if disappointed. "You're overthinking this." He pressed a kiss to (Name)'s forehead, soft and patronizing. "You wanted me. Your body certainly did."
(Name) opened his mouth to argue, but Zhongli silenced him with another kissâ deeper this time, possessive. When he pulled away, his thumb swiped over (Name)'s bottom lip.
"Besides," Zhongli murmured, "where else would you go?"
The question hung in the air like a threat.
(Name) had no answer. âStill. This is... illegal."
A chuckle. "Not after yesterday."
Right. His birthday. He was an adult now. That didn't make this any less insane. "You're still my teacher," (Name) said, as if that explained everything.
"Not for much longer." Zhongli sat up, the sheets pooling around him. "You graduate in three months."
"That doesn't make it right."
Zhongli tilted his head, studying him. "Do you regret it?" The question hung between them, heavy.
(Name) opened his mouth, then closed it. The truth was, he didn't know. He should regret it. But the memory of Zhongli beneath him, gasping his name, the way his scent had wrapped around (Name) like a claim, and he couldnât answer.
"You want me," Zhongli continued, almost gently. "And now that you've had me, your instincts won't let you walk away so easily."
The alpha's hands clenched. He wanted to deny it, but he knew he couldnât. A bond was a bond, it couldnât be broken. âI knowâŚâ He whispered.
Zhongli smiled, slow and satisfied. "So why run from it? Letâs say you leave and we never see each other again, no one but me will ever be enough to satisfy you. Not one of those little whores will be enough.â
He then stood up, the covers fully revealing his body. Had it not been for (Name)âs gaze being lost somewhere in the wall he wouldâve noticed how throughly heâd taken the older one. Zhongliâs went to grab a robe neatly folded in his closet with a light limp on his step.
Zhongli slipped into the robe, the silk whispering against his skin as he cinched it loosely at his waist. The fabric did little to hide the marks beneath-bruises in the shape of (Name)'s fingertips, the faint red scratches trailing down his thighs along a white dried out liquid. Evidence of their indulgence. âIâll go make breakfast.â
(Name) watched Zhongli leave, the door clicking shut behind him with unsettling finality. The weight of what had happened pressed down on him like a physical force. He dragged a hand over his face, fingers trembling against his skin.
This wasn't supposed to happen.
But it had. And worse-his body still ached for Zhongli, his instincts clawing at him to follow, to claim, to keep.
The bond between them was fresh, a live wire humming under his skin, and every rational thought was drowned out by the possessive urge to drag Zhongli back to bed.
He forced himself to stand, legs unsteady.
The scent of them-spiced amber and his own alpha musk-clung to the sheets, the air, him.
It was intoxicating. Sickening.
The mirror across the room caught his eye. He barely recognized himself-hair disheveled, lips swollen from kisses, bite marks raked down his shoulders where Zhongli had clung to him. And his eyes-dark, dilated, still half-wild with the remnants of his rut.
A low growl built in his throat.
He needed to get out of here.
The kitchen was bathed in soft morning light, the smell of tea and something savory curling through the air. Zhongli stood at the stove, humming quietly, as if this were any other day. As if he hadn't just upended (Name)'s entire life.
(Name) hesitated in the doorway, fists clenched at his sides. "You can't just pretend this is normal.â He said, voice rough.
Zhongli didn't turn. "That matters little." A faint smirk touched his lips as he stirred the pot. "Since from now on this will be our normal."
(Name)'s stomach twisted. "Youâre sick for this Zhongli."
âNo. Iâm just deeply in love with you." The simplicity of the answer sent a shiver down (Name)'s spine.
"This isn't love." (Name) snapped. "You manipulated me."
Zhongli's expression darkened. He set the spoon down with deliberate care before turning fully, leaning back against the counter. âIt was necessary.â He raised his voice ever so slightly. âFor us, for our life, for our future family.â
(Name) raised his brow in disbelief. âFamily? Us?! Iâm your student, there is no us! Youâre delusional.â
Zhongli chuckled. His hand grabbed the handle of the pan and he took a step closer to (Name). âYouâre still inexperienced, dear (Name), but itâs okay.â He raised his hand with the pan in hand, its contents falling to the ground .
The pan connected with (Name)âs head with a sickening thunk, solid iron meeting the side of their skull with just enough force to send his vision whiting out.
He didn't crumple immediately. For one dizzying second, his body swayed, eyes glazed and unseeing, mouth slack with shock. Then his knees buckled, and he dropped like a puppet with its strings cut.
Zhongli stood over him, pan still gripped in his hand, breath coming hard. No blood. That was good. No blood meant no skull fracture, just a clean, concussive strike-enough to put them down, not enough to kill.
He twitched on the ground, fingers spasming, a low groan escaping his lips.
Zhongli gritted his teeth and swung again.
This time, the impact was softer-less force, more precision. A muffled clang, and the body went still.
Zhongli nudged him with his foot. No response. âIâll help you see.â
