Okay so... this sequence of scenes points out something heartbreaking...

This is the first one:

Dean had to bury him, not them, only Dean.

After that scene ends we can see Dean here:

Praying to Cas, kneeling on the ground, crying, forgiving and asking for forgiveness... And after he wipes out his tears and keeps going this scene comes right after...

Dean is alone, drinking with his eyes closed, focused and with that expression....

He is praying to Cas who's alone, scared and trapped, buried into the Mal'ak box.

Even when Sam comes into the scene, it feels awkward, like he just walked into a very private moment.

So yes, these three scenes are a sequence, one after the other, so we can almost guess is fully intentional. This episode was so so heavy on Destiel, I can't help to hope they'll go all the way canon.

If I’m not wrong, last two gifs are legit cut scenes (the “part of me always believed” was in the promo for 7x17, and it’s cool that we have the network draft of the script, and it says yet another different thing). The end!verse one was in the original script, but the line was changed (production draft), so it was never filmed. The “I love you” was in the script, too, but Jensen decided to change it, because he felt it would be OOC for Dean (I mean, at that point of the show? Has anyone else noticed that when other characters embody Lucifer, they take on the original Nick’s vibe (sarcastic, funny, almost could pass for a human if you didn’t know better)

But Sam.

Whenever he’s possessed (the Sam that said yes in Detroit) by him or in these red dreams, he’s scary calm and stoic. He’s almost robotic in his mannerisms and speaking.

I think it’s because Lucifer is HOME when he’s in Sam. He doesn’t have to put on a human face and play a part.

Sam is and will always be Lucifer’s vessel and I really think we’re going to see that come out in this last season
