I did it, GOAL, well for this week! Yay!! Proud of my discipline with eating this week 💪🤗 had my gbaby and daughter here last night his first fish fry and he loved it! 😍 life is gooooood.
Another productive day at work - finally figuring out Monday.com and the best way to use it with my team, met with and impressed a client with our approach. Aaaannndd....got my nails done ✔️ almost breaking 250, i was 250.4 this am officially 6 lbs down in 7 days, let's GO! Someone was a bit of a bed hog last night....king-size and she still gives me like 2 ft of room. Ah well, happy wife happy life lol 😆 Wednesday today right? Here's to the last half of the week!
A week in and im down 4.6 lbs yay! Walking, water and proper eating. 👌 things are going good at work, department meetings this week, goal is to get yhe skeleton of a policy/procedure manual. Done, for helath, only goal is to break the 250 mark and walk morning and night. Trying to focus on habits rather than weight. Can't believe it's already August 23rd. Where has the summer gone?? ☀️
Forgot to write yesterday. It was a good day! Work was frustrating but satisfying at the same time haha got pulled off a presentation, mostly because the proponent is just meeting me but somewhat because I should've spoke up and said something, lesson learned. But had 2 other super successful meetings so YAY! things are going well with new habits! I forget how much I love to prepare yummy meals, got so lazy over the year, but I am back. Down about 3.5 lbs in 3 days, probably mostly water weight but im down none the less :) my walk yesterday morning was great! Barely any numbness in my foot, so thats a good sign. It's been a hot few days with thunder storms ! Love it. ❤️
Was a good day yesterday! Have a new VP at work and it's nice to have someone with a structured strategic direction, which I very much enjoy. Was busy all day at work and enjoyed a great steak at the end of the day. Headed for my walk on my new treadmill - starting a new journey to find my healthy weight...again lol 😆 I love myself and I need to focus on that discipline! I started taking truvy again, balance out my blood. It really does help me focus. Also working pita pit into my lunches instead of McDonald's which is great. I love my journeys and challenges. And I have an amazing fiancé who loves me more than anything!
What a wonderful weekend I had ! I have so much to be thankful for. 🙏 this year I want to work on my discipline. I have had success with discipline in work and school but somehow have ignored my health. I am strong, I am beautiful and my body deserves to feel that way. ✨️ this week I will walk everyday morning and night, I will do 2 kickboxing workouts and abs daily.
A new month is upon us. This month I am focusing on creating my fitness habit. Back to the pool, early morning abs and planks and hiit at night. You can so do this, you are doing this.
Another day to be happy and grateful. Busy day ahead ❤❤
Got the booster yesterday, ventured out in the minus 38 weather lol feeling like I got hit by a bus and the headache is unreal. Otherwise I feel great, took a break on the workout yesterday. Jenn makes some deadly Sammies.
Accupuncture this am, one shoulder feels great but pain has transferred to the other now? Lol oh this body of mine...
Worked from yesterday, it was quite productive; I like working from home, get to eat proper, house work in between lol oh the joys of adulthood! We did a home circuit yesterday since the gym was closed; it was actually pretty fun, I think I killed jenn tho 😅 oops.
Good day yesterday, ate well, drank a ton of water, went to the last aqua class, covid is back. Proposals to write, work from home. Restarting my ab challenge this morning, gotta tighten up the core. I basically gave up in November lol I had moved, was getting settled, I'm ready now tho 💪
Hey, what's going on? Christmas was wonderful love my family
It's a new year, with new opportunities. It's January, it's cold, it's covid times, through all that tho I count myself fortunate. I have an amazing partner, a body that hurts from skiing and a job to go to today. I am going to have a great day...how about you?
It's been a journey! I should start blogging again, I've had so many adventures LOL 2 years is a long time - this picture tho, that's been a journey!
Adopting Indigenous practices could help improve traditional conservation efforts.
As human activities such as deforestation, overfishing, and emitting greenhouse gases continue to devastate the planet, the forecast is bleak for its species. More than one million types of plants and animals worldwide are currently facing extinction: a number that is between 1,000 and 10,000 times greater than the natural rate.
A new UBC-led study suggests that Indigenous-managed lands may play a critical role in helping species survive.
Researchers sampled land and species data from three of the world’s biggest countries—Canada, Australia, and Brazil. The study was the first to compare biodiversity and land management on such a broad geographic scale.
The scientists discovered that the total numbers of birds, mammals, amphibians, and reptiles were all greatest on lands managed or co-managed by Indigenous communities.
