These days, I don’t feel compelled to post anything that doesn’t have meaning or message. I want to share with you the beauty in all things surrounding my world and there is beauty in the challenges we are confronted with. 🌹 These last few years have been particularly rough for many of us with so much unknown and uncertainty. This forced us all to evaluate our life on a deeper level and I think many of you can relate. As my role at Sweetduet evolved and tested the skills I don’t have, I began to question my future here. “All I want to do is make healthy chocolate and visual art,” I said. I disappeared into myself for a moment in time and then I heard it: “I am presenting you with unique challenges because you are ready for it,” the universe responded. It took me months of inner work in the form of meditation, journaling, soaking in the sun, playtime, and rest to really hear this. I have always said this is so much more than chocolate and I’m finally seeing now what it is for me. It’s the intimate relationships I have built with my customers, colleagues, and the mastering of the human spirit. Good, health-promoting chocolate doesn’t hurt either. 🫶🏽 If you’re feeling stuck or unsure of what your move might be, stop everything you’re doing. Take some time off if you can. I have always been intrigued by the aesthetics of older things. Things that were made by folks long ago. Things that were made during a time when the idea of “disposing” was not yet quite engrained. I love that we take good care of such things, perhaps with more care than we give to our everyday belongings. This is a reminder for me to take better care of the everyday objects in my life when I use them. They are here to serve a sacred purpose after all. Today is hump day.
